Irritating media interviewers

During one of the recent coronavirus meetings, journalists were asking questions that were so facile as to be pointless. Several asked Chris Witty and Raab about the PM's condition and those responding said exactly what we knew they would: that they is not the medical advisors in this situation and could not comment. Still they pressed him - what the heck else did they think he might say? Did they think he might be stupid enough to indulge in speculation?

Perhaps being locked down is getting to me, but I am becoming more and more irritated by this ridiculous news style. I turn on the headlines, then switch off, because I know the rest of the half hour will be padded out with such nonsense.

Laura Kuensburg's reports, as she stands outside Westminster or No 10, are pure speculation and padding - she could say what needs saying in one sentence - or even one word sometimes..

I don’t like what they call vox pops. The views of the man on the Clapham omnibus etc. Who cares ? Give me the facts. The rest is padding.

And don’t get me started on shouting at mps as they walk into no 10. How rude ! And what benefit is to be gained by standing in front of the door to no 10 in the dark on a cold night ?

“ Good morning everyone . Lovely to see you all !” Hahaha .

They not only ask "how are you feeling" of someone who is obviously distressed but the camera zooms in on their face to catch every tear! Heartless.

Yes to this - what’s the obsession with knowing how someone feels about something? I think we can probably make an educated guess if it’s important to us to understand someone else’s feelings on something.

I dislike it when athletes are interviewed right after a race when viewers can't hear half their answers due to their exhaustion. They gabble and breathe fast the words tumbling out in a rush. I feel they want to get away but of course, their sponsorship would be withdrawn if they didn't comply.
On the steps of a court of law and when a person has gone missing or found dead is another horrible scenario especially

I wish interveiwers wouldn't target people who are clearly upset. It is unfeeling and unnecessary. They hone in on people at their lowest just to get a story.

And me. It is simply exploitation in my opinion.
