Just a heads up that Andrea Bocelli is doing a live concert from the Duomo cathedral in Milan on Easter Sunday evening. It will be to an empty stadium and is in honour of healthcare workers around the world. You can watch the concert live, via his YouTube channel by going here:

I'd like to see that. What time is it please? By the way, the link doesn't work. I'll perhaps ask Mr. Google.

Looking forward to it!

I watched his film The Music of Silence recently, very interesting.

Thanks for letting us know. The album ‘Si’ is so moving with Andrea and his son, Matteo singing together.

If you like Andrea Bocelli, find on you tube him with Ed Sheeran singing “perfect “ in Bocelli s house, it is gooooorgeous.

ThAt was very moving

Oh dear I caught up with it tonight and was sadly disappointed. I fear he is losing his voice, his Panis Angelicus was definitely flat in places and he seemed to be struggling with both the Ave Maria and the Mascagni.
Amazing Grace in the open air was more successful, but I wonder if it was “enhanced”.
I have always liked him however although he never made it to the top rank of singers.
Beautiful setting though.

That was very moving.

Yes, I thought so too, Lucca. All credit to Bocelli for stepping forward to do this. I thought he looked rather frail himself, and do hope he’s well.

You’re right Maggiemaybe , “frail” describes him exactly and might account for the shortness of breath and his struggles with pitch.
He did look old and ill sad

I thought it was very moving too to see him there in the empty cathedral but thought the empty void was affecting the accoustics and also just a single organ playing instead of a full musical backing. I also felt he sounded better when he moved outside.

He seems to have lost a lot of weight doesn't he? He does look older than his 61 years. Following on from watching his live performance, I then went on to watch him singing a duet with his son, Matteo. Sublime!

Chewbacca, I did exactly the same thing!

Chewbacca Mon 13-Apr-20 21:05:42

His son has a beautiful voice too hasn't he Happiyogi; a big future ahead of him I think.

Brought a tear to my eyes (mind you just about everything does these days).
I thought he looked ill too, his beautiful voice faltering at times, still a wonderful thing to do.
