Good morning, did anyone else watch Jane MacDonald last night, cruising the Ganges? I would just like to know if it is just me, but, I find her very annoying? I can’t put my finger on exactly what is about her, maybe, I find her, abrasive? It won’t put me off going back to India though, lovely country, and the people are always smiling, even when they have nothing.

I used to really enjoy watching her, but find she’s now a bit ‘blaise’. Another so called celebrity whose ‘celebrity’ status has gone to her head and is now on a permanent ego trip.

*That was for Kittye

I don't think you have to be northern to like her - I am a southerner and, as I've already said, I like her!! grin

SirChenjin Sun 12-Apr-20 14:24:15

I’ve just had a look to see if our screens would soon be JM free but apparently she’s going “to spend some time in the UK, concentrate on my music and tours and exciting new projects”.

JuliaM Sun 12-Apr-20 14:07:48

Im.sure that l read somewhere recently that she will soon be retiring from the public eye?

JenniferEccles Sun 12-Apr-20 13:46:44

I have tried very hard to take to her but I’m afraid I’m with those who find her intensely annoying.

She is just too full on, too extrovert and too loud.

We do watch her programmes though if she is cruising in a part of the world we fancy going to, or places we have visited and loved.

I much prefer Joanna Lumley’s style of presenting.

I like the programmes.

The one last evening on India was spectacular. However, she does get the best accommodation, be it in hotels or on board the various cruises. And she does not mix with other travellers...not on the cruise I was was on with my late Mum, where JMcD was one of the star turns. The 'down with the ordinary folk' thing certainly didn't happen on that occasion.

Her clothes are wonderful.

Ah, I like the woman and everything about her. She's the type who'd make a lovely friend. I thing she's genuine and down to earth and just lovely in every way.
A hard worker made good which is what I like in people. Nothing "plastic" about her at all.

I'm just sorry I missed her programme last night as she's also the most interesting commentator on travel programmes.

I really enjoyed last week's programme of the Adriatic cruise, many places we'd visited in the recent past, brought back happy memories.

I don't know if we'll ever cruise again.

I liked the rain jackets Jane wore in that episode, can't find them online though.

I enjoy her down to earth style of presenting.

Some years ago my daughter bought tickets to see one of Janes shows. My initial thought was: mmm, I don't think so.
How wrong I was. It was wonderful. We book every show at our local theatre, now.
Her stage clothes are fabulous.

Kittye Sun 12-Apr-20 13:18:05

Seems like the lovely Jane is Marmite ? Perhaps it’s just northerners who like her? ?

SirChenjin Sun 12-Apr-20 13:16:31

Gulli it’s very funny, isn’t it grin Rather than the ‘off’ switch I put her on mute. I can see her mouth moving but I’m not subjected to the nonsense that comes out of it - it’s great!

millymouge Sun 12-Apr-20 13:16:16

Never heard of her, what does she do?

gulligranny Sun 12-Apr-20 13:14:44

I can't watch Jane MacDonald - all I see is Victoria Wood's parody, on stage at the Royal Albert Hall. Can't find a link but do Google it if you want a good laugh. But probably don't if you really like Jane ...

Callistemon Sun 12-Apr-20 13:11:40

There's always an off switch!

I watched her cruising round South Island, NZ, and enjoyed that but that's the only one I've seen. That was enjoyable, I quite liked her.

DanniRae Sun 12-Apr-20 13:05:39

Oopsminty - well that's very kind of you. Many thanks x

harrysgran Sun 12-Apr-20 12:45:52

I find her entertaining and like her what you see is what you get with her she doesn't put on an act unlike a lot of other entertainers

SirChenjin Sun 12-Apr-20 12:27:32

I find her intensely annoying and completely devoid of any real talent. I’ve watched her programme a couple of times because they’re places we’re planning to visit and I find myself wondering how on Earth she got that gig.

Oopsminty Sun 12-Apr-20 12:25:51

Here you go, DanniRae!

DanniRae Sun 12-Apr-20 12:24:52

I enjoy her programmes very much. I liked her on Loose Women too.
I once saw her live show at Farefield Halls in Croydon and she told the funniest joke I have ever heard - too rude to repeat on here though.
I also love her clothes - I wish I could find out where they come from.

MissAdventure Sun 12-Apr-20 12:23:47

She gets on my wick, and I don't think her singing is is all that great, either.

skb235 Sun 12-Apr-20 12:19:33

I'm with @Kittye too I think she's great, and because of her program will definitely try a river cruise as soon as possible

Hildagard Sun 12-Apr-20 11:14:44

Jane10 glad it’s not just me!

Katyj Sun 12-Apr-20 10:36:43

She lives near me. We’re all like that ?
