recycling problems? these are my thoughts

Our collections have gone to two weekly now. South Gloucestershire Council

No garden waste collection at all though

Our "garden waste" bins have stopped. I can see it's not essential but would personally rather they collected that than the blue bin. I have loads of garden waste at the moment and it's all very twiggy so can't use it all in the compost.

Even composting bins being emptied

My refuse collections are still normal, they did stop the green waste initially, but that was reinstated his week, and could be stopped again, depending on man power.

Our recycling and food waste bins were emptied as usual this morning. The emptying of our garden waste bin which we pay an annual fee for was suspended for a month but is now reinstated and we will have a month added to our date for next subscription.
Well done to our local council ?

Our green bins have been stopped and the collection of paper has been reduced to monthly. However, as we also put food waste in the green bin and many of us already had a mix of food and garden waste in our bins when they suddenly ceased collection without warning, the council are arranging a one off final collection to remove the last food waste. I am pleased about this as I tried to retrieve my food bags from my bin but I'd put too much garden cuttings in to find it all - was over enthusiastic initially in the garden so my bin was stuffed full!

As all tips and recycling facilities in car parks and at supermarkets are closed, we have no choice but to store our rubbish at home. But there has been an increase in fly tipping! I had to smile at a post on our community FB site. Someone has chucked six big tyres at a local playground and immediately several people said they wanted to pick them up to grow potatoes in! So within hours, the tyres disappeared!

So far it is just the green waste which is not being collected here ?
I presume that is because they've had to introduce more stringent working practices and some operators may be off for various reasons.

Are the facilities at the supermarkets being emptied?
We're not going out anyway

Our bin collections are a bit hit and miss right now and I’m not sure when they will next come. The LA website says there are disruptions to services . My DS and his family haven’t had a bin collection since the beginning of March so the rubbish is really mounting up . The tip is closed so not sure what they expect anyone to do with it all? Noticed all the recycling facilities in the supermarket have been closed up so can’t be used.

I'm very grateful that our collections are as normal. Might leave something out for the bin men to say thank you this week. They EVEN collected a big pile of cardboard from a neighbour, when they don't have to.

No change you collections here in Ealing.

All our bin collections are running as normal. As Cindersdad says everything else: tip, charity shops, Freegle have closed down for the duration.

In our local Sainsburies the only recycling options are Batteries and Plastic Bags. Charity shops are all shut, local tips shut and freecycle not running.

Bin collections so far normal in Sefton (North Merseyside).

No change to waste collections, green bin collection stopped. Tatters still coming round!
