It’s an app that a lot of businesses and clubs are using now to have get togethers.
You can download the app then invite friends etc. to join you. You can see each other and chat.
I have not been in charge so am not very knowledgeable but I have a young person to organise me .

There was talk on another thread about concerns that Zoom isn’t secure. Several posters said they weren’t using it for that reason.

I heard that Zoom has been hacked. It seems to be more office based so I'm not sure why a family would need that. You can get multiple screens on WhatsApp for the family to talk to each other.

Dame Slap (Faraway Tree) was replaced by Dame Snap who just scolds.
The gollies in Noddy were replaced by goblins who are bad creatures. Gnomes are good, and Big Ears is the wise old gnome who is respected.
Wiki says In The Adventurous Four, the names of the young twin girls were changed from Jill and Mary to Pippa and Zoe.

There's not much to go on re name changes. You might be better to ask questions on Enid Blyton characters' names or 'name five Famous Five books' something like that.

Tinkers have become travellers, apparently. And Bessie, a black character, has been replaced with Beth. Not sure what books they appear in though.

Sorry to digress, but does anyone know whether newer editions of Swallows and Amazons have changed Titty’s name (I’d hope so!) and if so, to what?

I realise even doing that you can still make a mistake, as I’m sure I have sometimes done.

In the recent swallows and amazons film-she was called Tatty which i don't much care for. I would have thought Tilly would be better. The previous film had her as Kitty.
I always wondered whether Titty was short for Letitia? I loved those those books as a child and never thought anything about the name except it was unusual. More innocent times!

Zoom is better than WhatsApp as you can put on your your laptop or tablet and get a better picture. We balance an iPad on a music stand.I’m not sure who’d want to hack into our family game of scattegories.

Theres another app called House Party which is very good for social on screen meet ups. We use it with our family every weekend.

I don’t think they should change the books except to remove anything racist. Why change the names? I can see no reason to pretend the books are recent. They quite obviously aren’t.

I'm not sure having people's names with private body parts is a good idea Grandmas70s ? It would distract and cause much giggling.
