Given that none of us can go on holiday, stay in hotels or B and Bs while we are in lockdown, what on earth was the point, OP?

I have a toulet brush and bleach it after use albeit the thin bleach as it seems to do a better job.
I would`nt stay anywhere with out a loo brush but as of yet haven`t come across a place that hadn`t had one.

I don’t like loo brushes, I think they’re disgusting, and won’t have one in my house.
BlueSky and tanith have the right idea. Clean with toilet paper, reflush and wash hands singing Happy Birthday, or in other words for twenty seconds.
When cleaning the toilet, pour bleach or toilet cleaner around the bowl. It’s not rocket science.

Do people really put dirty brushes back into the holder? I always add bleach to the toilet bowl after brushing and rinse the brush in the water as well as standing it in a strong bleach mix in the holder once a week. I would never leave solids on it.

The only useful bit of advice my friend’s MIL gave her was to never buy a white bristled toilet brush!

You can always buy one in a £ shop though they charge £1 for the brush and another £1 for the holder.

The plural of brush is brushes, not brush's which is the possessive.

If you possess your own travelling brushes, then take them with you.

I have bouts of irritable bowel syndrome brought on by stress. When staying with a newish boyfriend who had recently moved, years ago, on my morning visit to the loo I delivered an expolosive mess of sh**t that the flush barely touched. There was no loo brush, and friend was egging me on to be ready for a shopping trip to buy necessities for the house, ( such as a bed!). I mentioned loo brush and kept my eyes open but we didn’t go near anywhere that sold one. When we got back I rushed to the loo and did my best with tissues and water but as it was dried I couldn’t get it clean. When friend went to the loo he said no wonder you wanted to buy a loo brush!

Nowadays I would always have wet wipes on me which if all else fails I could use ( but not flush), but nowhere near as hygienic for the user as a brush. If it is regularly soaked in a strong bleach mix it has to be safer than having to get hands on! Imagine leaving a mess for the cleaner/ owner to clean up. I would give the job to whoever came up with this rule.

After I've cleaned my loo with a brush, I just put lots of cleaning stuff down the loo at the end, leave the brush in there for a while and then flush with it inside- it looks as good as new then.

Well what you usually have to do if there's no brush (which I agree are full of germs). Wipe it up with some toilet paper and flush until its reasonably clean.

Never heard them called Sanitary brushes just a loo brush where I come from

Don’t suppose any of us will be staying at B&B’s or hotels any time soon.
