Good Morning Tuesday

Good morning again from Leicestershire. Its lovely and bright but, as dragonfly says, it is cold.

Can your daughter not come and collect Dexter, dragonfly? It seems a huge responsibility for you.

We had a huge treat arrive yesterday from DD1 - pyclets!! I used to go to a particular stall in Derby with my nan for pyclets. They are still going and now do gluten free as well. So pyclets for breakfast.

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, but still chilly at only 3C.

Not much planned today, apart from pottering about the garden.
I may make chicken pakora today and onion bhaji with some savoury rice for a change.

I have some church admin to do, which means trawling through files to find a piece of information, I cannot bear the thought of it and have been procrastinating.☹️

Thinking of Gilly, I noticed she posted on a thread last night, so at least she is still posting.

Another sunny day but always a chilly stiff breeze here on the Suffolk coast. If we can find a sheltered spot, the warmth from the sun is lovely. The gorse is still blooming and so golden in the sun. I’ve never known it to be out for so long. Bluebells very prolific this year too. Perhaps this is our antidote for lockdown. I intended washing bed sheets yesterday but thought they could go another day, so will have to do it today. I hate the job, but love having fresh sheets on. My freezer seems to be full of chicken and not much else. I’ll start clucking soon. Might take a trip to the butchers today and stock up on lamb mince, pork chops and a bit of stewing steak. Take care all. ?

Good morning Mick (swing those weights) and the GM team, from a bright east London.
Gosh, it was hot yesterday. We spent the morning lounging in the garden and ate a salad lunch outside. It was lovely.
I had to come indoors in the afternoon ... too hot!
In the evening, it was too chilly to eat supper outside.

We will need to get our watering system going, because the poor garden is dry.
Yesterday, our local FB site had a pretty poster a member had designed, reminding us to think about the street trees, during hot, dry weather. The street tree nearest to our house is a fairly young sapling, which I do water during dry weeks. ??

Beautiful sunrise again. I love this brightness but it's still bitterly cold and I can't see the jumpers being packed away for a month or two yet.

I have a mouse on the loose ! One of the cats presented one nearly a couple of hours ago---and lost it. It's going to drive me mad all day now so I'll get the hoover out after and scare it out from wherever it's escaped to. If it suddenly shoots out from somewhere I know I'll get the fright of my life. It's probably one of those tiny little field mice.

I'm reeling at the moment reading about how the virus was brought into Liverpool when Madrid fans were in the city to watch their football team play against Liverpool. That game was actually allowed to continue knowing that the virus was doing its rounds ! Bloomin' football, I hate it anyway and now even more. The teams involved should compensate the families of those who died, it's criminal.

I've run out of crumpets again so it's Marmite on toast and a slice of honeydew melon with ginger. It's a few days since I visited the corner shop so I'll make another trip today, need a fresh loaf as well. I've been fancying cream cakes but there aren't any round here, bakery's closed
I should set to and make my own sponge cake but have never noticed cream in the local shop. If I see any I'll get a carton.

I'm starting to want things that I can't get and it's getting frustrating. I've been used to buying things that I fancy from the supermarket. My only consolation is that by using what I have in the freezer will give me the opportunity to defrost it soon as the last time was in December.

Hope today finds everyone keeping well and enjoying the weather which has come at the right time.

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s chilly and the sun peeps out then disappears again behind white clouds so either way for tuppence today.

Himself is already out on the landing doing his brisk walk.

Since the beginning of lockdown (Sunday 15 March) we’ve been rewatching ‘Breaking Bad’ from a box set we left out here years ago then forgot about. We’ve been so immersed in it and tonight is our last episode. Walter White rang Skylar last night knowing the DEA was listening in and I cried, just the same as I did first time around!

I can understand your anxiety over Dexter dragonfly but thankfully your daughter has been with you all the way over this and knows you’re doing your best.

Hope Tuesday is good to us all. The HoC resits today. 50 MP’s in Parliament only and the rest virtually. I wonder how that will go? Best wishes to you gillybob I hope you feel able to come back soon.

Good morning from sunny the Leicestershire, the wind seems to have dropped but it is still cold.

Dexter was sedated yesterday so they could have a good look at his eye. The ulcer is bigger which is not good so now drops 5 times a day which is a challenge. They also shaved his fave a little and I think that is causing him pain. He woke up crying in the night. I am not used to animals especially sick ones. I wish my DD’s or SiL could come and get him.

Good morning everyone from a lovely blue sky day in Inverness. Yesterday we had sunshine all day long with only a light breeze but there was still a chill in the air - it takes a while to warm up here !

I started cleaning the indoor windows yesterday and used my fairly new Karcher vacuum gadget , it cleaned them all a treat !

It did give me a major wobble though when I went in DGD bedroom and saw her little slippers and dressing gown hanging up and her toy dolls pram where she’d left it last time she had a sleepover -it made me so sad..... After that though I went for a short walk in the neighbourhood to cheer myself up which did help a bit ?

I hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and thinking of everyone with worries and struggles

Pantglas I'm a big reader but I have read very little lately, find it hard to concentrate. However I'm keeping busy doing plenty of other things.
Forgot to say yesterday that our DS did the 5k/£5 NHS Challenge on Sunday. He is a cyclist and hates running, so good for him.
Hope Dexter the dog is OK following the visit to the vet, best wishes dragonfly.
Some sad news, our neighbour's daughter is gravely ill in hospital with pancreatic cancer, she is only 42. I remember her growing up.

Good morning from east London, blue skies and sun again, temperature on the cool side. Thank you for your comments about GD2; she seems a very settled soul. Yesterday, I joined in a local session learning a disco routine; doubt if it will improve my dance floor performance but it was tremendous fun. Today is my younger DS’s birthday; wonder if she’ll miss the cannons the Queen normally lays on for her. (Late happy birthday to BlueS). Will have a walk at some point today and see what else the day brings. Hope you have a good one.

Good Morning from another sunny day in the Black Country

it is amazing how you can string out the day. Exercise, breakfast, shower. A few chores then it is lunchtime!

Good news yesterday, my eldest DGD had a phone call from her school offering her a place in the Sixth Form to study her A levels. They obviously think her GCSE results will be good (seeing as they are going to have to grade them based on mocks and coursework)

That was tempered with sad news to hear my cousin (Dad's sisters daughter) had heard a cousin of hers had died with Covid . I didn't know him well, but remember him from when I was younger.

NotaGran55 I really hope your friend has started to heed advice and let others do her shopping.

Good morning Mick and everyone. Beautiful crimson skies this morning in Glasgow. I really could get used to this and so thankful, if nothing else, we are not going into winter with shorter days.

Still suffering with aching muscles after doing too much in the garden so not much action for me today, top up with painkillers and hot water bottle. A day at home then ?

I had a couple of FaceTime calls with two friends yesterday which was a great tonic as we sorted out all world problems with plenty of laughter and we seem to have settled into isolation just taking it a day at a time acknowledging it is what it is and keeping ourselves busy with various projects.

Good morning from yet another sunny day in Cheshire. Yesterday was really sunny all day, but quite chilly, with a stiff breeze, a perfect day for drying the washing! Nothing planned for today, so will just potter about, tidying and cleaning.

I am at work today again, that is the first time in a month we have had work to do on two days on the trot.

I noticed last night that I have a lovey big bruise making its way out in my calf after my fall off the bike last week. It is certainly taking its time to emerge!!

Another lovely morning here in north Wales and I’ve just done that weight swinging Mick - my own weight that is! Squats and lunges while I wait for the kettle to boil then plank and bridge while tea brews followed by lean-to press-ups on the worktop! And now back in bed with the chamberpot!

That bluebell walk in the woods sounds lovely Ginny42- I’ll swap my beach walk with you a couple of days a month just to keep it interesting!

Bed change and damp mop the floors today then another afternoon in the garden with a book - strangely I haven’t done a lot of reading with all this time on my hands - can’t settle for long!

I might start sorting out the paperwork files , some of it dates back to prehistoric times .
On the other hand I might leave it ....

Definitely going for a walk and will investigate local fruit / veg / bakery/ dairy delivery service here as hoping to avoid supermarket shop for a while .

Will ring a lady who I meet up with at football who lives alone , bracing myself for the conversation.
Last time I spoke to her she could see nothing wrong with a daily trip to the supermarket to get her news paper and a couple of bits . Her son sends her groceries online and she has neighbours in her close who have all offered to help her .
She is 75+ , with asthma and COPD .
I hope she answers the phone .

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Don’t overdo it Mick!
I don’t need dumbbells - I have a couple of tons of topsoil to move! The builders who put in the footings for our shed were a bit over enthusiastic and you could probably put a block of flats there! However, it generated a huge pile of good topsoil which I am gradually using to fill raised beds and borders. I am certainly getting a good tan and sleeping well!

Good morning Mick, Harrigran and everyone. I laughed at you swinging the dumbells around Mick, don't do yourself an injury! It’s a lovely morning in Cheshire. The sun’s up and not a cloud in the sky. It got quite windy last night, but the trees in the woods are very still now. The bluebells are a carpet of blue in there and the wild garlic and the nettles are lovely too.

I missed the GM thread yesterday morning as I just thought I’d check if there was a slot on the supermarket site and found I had till 09.10 to complete an order for delivery on May 4th. Heaven knows how I put that order together, but I managed it. That was followed by an emergency call from a charity I’m involved with for things for a family in distress, so I called up my neighbours and we put things together for collection.

I am able to sit in my garden and chat with a neighbour in her garden next door, so in this lovely weather we spend a lot of time chatting about this and that out there and I don’t feel so lonely. My DD calls several times a day and I facetime with my DGS. When I said I miss him with no idea when we’ll be able to fly again, he said with all the sagacity of an old man, ‘Well grandma, it’s just something we have to do and I haven't forgotten you.’

When I opened Word this morning there was a message about templates to keep families busy and it looked good. Colouring books and craft activities and many more. Worth a look I think, especially if you have family with children to occupy.

My weeding did me a power of good so I feel much better.

My brother called by later and said he was very busy at work. I could see his hair was getting much longer. He’ll look even more like me soon?

My DD started her new job and had a good day.

When lockdown is lifted I think you will be the first one out of the door Mick ?
