EllanVannin, I had an ITT KB radio too!
It was a Christmas present from my Daddy in 1970, best present ever at that time.

It had terrific reception and I loved it.
I took it to school with me every day, we'd listen to it at lunchtime, especially on Tuesdays for the charts and new number one.

I used to listen to Radio Luxembourg in bed at night. I remember hearing the news that Jim Morrison had died.

I must have just missed Radio Caroline, but I loved Jonnie Walker on Radio One.

In fact, I still enjoy his 70s show on Sunday afternoons on Radio Two, brilliant DJ, although he is sounding a bit older and frailer these days.

My friend and I swore we'd never listen to Radio 1 when they shut down the pirate radio stations, but of course we did in the end as there was nothing else!

I can remember trying to find the station on the radio-gram at night and the reception being rubbish. Then I bought a KB radio with the best sound ever. Radio Caroline was brilliant.

Those certainly were the days.

Yes, I’m grateful to him too. Caroline brought me the music I loved and I was very sad when it stopped. I used to listen to Johnnie Walker under my bedcovers. I know it’s a cliche but it’s true.

Me too Riverwalk, loved it and the transistor was seldom turned off, Caroline North by day, a tinny Caroline South at night. Such excellent music back then...
