Good Morning Everyone,
Its another blue sky start to the day here in Brackley .
I heard from GN that in the forums there are 5 dedicated areas where you can post as to COVD-19 ,and Lockdown experiences .
Anyway, supermarket this morning , hopefully they will have the DVD of the last Star Wars in.
I have ordered a hair trimmer online ,and hope to get it soon.
Mick

SusieB50, I just wanted you to know you are not alone. ? for you and for Sweetpea, happy birthday

GrannyGravy13 Wed 22-Apr-20 09:36:14

Goodmorning Mick and all x

I am late this morning couldn't sleep last night and when I did doze off I had such vivid dreams which were unsettling.
I feel a sense of dread, I just cannot see us being able to go about our daily lives freely any time soon. When I heard about the vaccine trials starting on human volunteers from tomorrow I was relieved first of all, then I became worried for the brave souls who are going to be risking their lives for us all.

I am off to give myself a shake, and await a delivery from Morrisons (I do not shop in Morrisons but it was the only delivery I could get)

See you (virtually) in the morning when I shall be my usual chirpy self. Keep safe and well folks ?

Happy birthday sweetpea ??

Hello Urmstongran and gillybob

Good morning from a sunny Morecambe Bay. Another blue sky but less wind so I expect it will get quite warm later. This morning’s exercise was a 4 mile walk, and after I’ve recovered with a bucket of tea, I’m off to garden for an elderly neighbour. I used to garden all day everyday if it was dry, but these days I’ve had enough after a couple of hours. Everything in the garden is flowering about a month earlier than usual and one of my favourite plants, ‘Molly the Witch is in flower. Take care and keep safe everyone.

Urmstongran, the weather is so upside down isn’t it, we have a friend who’s home is in Spain but has got marooned here due to hospital appointments at the start of the lockdown he is enjoying the amazing sunny weather here. normally a ‘sun worshipper’ it has has lightened thing up a bit for him,
I must say if it was still typically April at the moment the days would be even slower doing what I do each day. Nothing!!!!

dragonfly46 Wed 22-Apr-20 10:01:51

Thank you Urmston and Lins. Dexter is somewhat better. He is still trying to scratch his eye but we are trying to get him into a more normal routine. We decided that I just panic him so DH has taken over the eyedrops and he is more successful than I was. I so wish my SiL would magically appear though!

Good morning from a sunny Market Harborough.
Stay safe and sane during these mad times.

CherryCezzy Wed 22-Apr-20 10:07:26

Good morning Mick and all.
? Happy 60th birthday sweetpea ?
Another bright day here in the Gower. Yesterday I couldn't sit out in the garden for long, it was too hot for me. I love the sun but it doesn't like me ?
BlueSapphire, sounds like you are having a prolonged wobble. Please take care, it's all to easy to give in to horrible thoughts. You have remained safe so far, you have done all the right things, you'll be okay ?
Good luck cutting your hair Mick and that goes for you too, cutting your DH's hair Marydoll smile
It must be a frustration for you all Susan that little Henry can't have his tests just yet but he is being kept a good eye on by the dietician and has love all around him to comfort him ?
Got my usual group Q&A session today and the support call I provide to the girl (she's actually almost 39) I am trying to help.
I have 2 kitchen drawers left to sort out (a hangover left from when I sorted & cleaned the rest of the kitchen cupboards etc blush ) and not much else planned for today.
Take care everyone, especially those are not sleeping, having wobbles and other stresses and strains ??
Stay safe and have the best day you can everyone ❤️

Nannatwiglet Wed 22-Apr-20 10:09:31

A bright sunny morning in WestYorkshire...greetings to all.

Happy birthday Sweet Pea60...enjoy your day!

Hope you catch up on sleep and rest Kitty, and anyone else who is unwell or feeling below par today.

Susan..I too need tests like Henry ...but dare not go to hospital
till it is safe.

Its normal to have Wobbles that suddenly appear out of nowhere...Talking to someone helps...share them, don’t let them get to you. (I know from experience....!)

Any ideas how to persuade my DH to let me trim his hair or shall I hand him one of those scrunchie things to tie it back?

CherryCezzy Wed 22-Apr-20 10:10:14

By the way, love the photo Gelisajam, heartwarming x

Mapleleaf Wed 22-Apr-20 10:21:41

Hello gilly, all I can suggest regarding your lupins, is to take a photo of their condition, email it to them along with telling them when they arrived and when you ordered them. Explain how disappointed you are with their condition and the expectation that you have to pay for return postage and see what they come back with. If they’ve got any sense of decency they will either send you replacements or reimburse you. Good luck.

Grammaretto Wed 22-Apr-20 10:30:23

Good morning everyone from the Scottish Borders. I slept in and have had a huge breakfast sitting in my sunny greenhouse.

Last night the family quiz on zoom didn't happen as DD fell down the stairs on her way to fetch her specs. However when she joined in she was looking reasonably cheerful though her wails had woken her children. It was nice to see nearly all the DGC.

I am grateful for the chance to enjoy the garden without the guilt attached as nobody will see it but us.

Have the best day you can. Happy birthday sweetpea -you young thing!!

gillybob Wed 22-Apr-20 10:32:26

Thank you for your response and good advice Mapleleaf . See attached photo which is exactly how they were when I opened the box. Actually one has perked up a bit today ( after watering ) but the other 2 are completely dead with no greenery at all.

Urmstongran Wed 22-Apr-20 10:32:39

? GrannyGravy
I was the same last night, went to bed, thought I was tired and yet at 1am my mind was whirring.

Lovely photo Gelisajam!

Good Morning All x.

I must say that this weather's come at the right time with things the way they are as I know I wouldn't have coped the same if it had been dark and miserable.

Talking about overthinking, it's easy to do in these times and like BlueSapphire you start thinking you've got all sorts. Yesterday I began feeling a bit " hearty " with chest and arms discomfort but realised it was nothing more than anxiety---but it's pretty similar to angina or even a heart attack.
I still carry on eating so pulled myself together.

One thing I can do well is sleep, thank goodness and never need to nod off in the daytime. I really feel for those who find sleeping a struggle.

Bought 3 fresh chicken thighs from the local butcher yesterday, so 2 for today with chips and 1 tomorrow to make soup. Strawberries and melon in between so I won't fade away grin. Quite an inexpensive way to live too after years of stocking up and spending a fortune-----daren't think about it !

Thinking about your worries with Henry, Susan, and you do worry over babies and children. x Only for this virus he could have had more intensive testing, but as long as there is ongoing contact with the hospital/GP it eases things temporarily.

Hoping times are better for Dragonfly and Dexter which is another extra worry on top of everything else.

Didn't ring D yesterday but will do so today to see how they're all doing. She'd been against sending any of the children to school so I'll see how she's got on with that. They've all kept well up to now and she wishes to keep it that way. I can't blame her.

Happy Birthday to SweetPea60.flowers I've always thought it was a big leap from 59 to 60, I don't know why smile

Here's hoping that everyone is remaining well and enjoying this lovely weather if you have it where you are----except Malaga it would seem which is usually more settled by now x

Stay safe everyone and try and keep that chin up Gillybob x

EllanVannin Wed 22-Apr-20 10:43:38

Dear me, those poor lupins. They're joining in with the state of everywhere. You should get replacements Gillybob if nothing else as there must be plenty of plants growing merrily now and it's only right and courteous that they should do the right thing.

Taichinan Wed 22-Apr-20 10:48:49

Good morning everyone from what is becoming the usual sunny day - with cold (not cool!) wind - on the Angus coast. Thanks Mike for your pointers to other threads. Unusually for me I was on a bit of a downer yesterday so it's good to know there's somewhere to turn when the Black Dog looms. Back to normal now I think ? and really cross with myself that I should let things get to me when I have so, so much to be thankful for. So today I shall attempt to sort the pump in the pond as my number one priority. My gardener phoned yesterday to say he'd popped round and sprayed weedkiller on the paths. (Goodness knows where I was, but I was definitely at home!!). Anyway it was so lovely to hear from him as I thought maybe he wouldn't be round for the duration, and my DCs are happy to know someone's keeping an occasional eye on me. Oh dear. Have I really reached the stage where I need "keeping an eye on"?! Just a few short weeks ago I was teaching four classes of tai chi a week, two of them back-to-back meaning 3 hours non-stop, and now I need keeping an eye on? What a lot Mr Covid has to answer for! Now I'm off to look for my get-up-and-go. Please have the best day you all can and stay positive ???

Nortsat Wed 22-Apr-20 11:07:51

Good morning Mick and the GM team, from a v sunny east London. Happy birthday Sweetpea ?.
Dragonfly, it’s good news Dexter is making progress. Gillybob ?.

I gardened yesterday and lounged outside whilst listening to R4. Washed the sofa throws and cushion covers and all were dry within a couple of hours.
Managed to get a bit of sunburn on my nose, forehead and ankles (!).

I plan to make a frittata and salad for supper tonight, as I seem to have a glut of eggs.
I need to busy myself with sending an animated birthday card/voucher via Amazon, to a family member whom I usually buy a gift for. It feels odd not sending a card and a gift, but she may be pleased to use the voucher to chose something for herself.

Have a good day all, special thoughts to those who need them and ‘let’s be careful out there’. ?

BladeAnnie Wed 22-Apr-20 11:16:23

A late good morning from a warm and sunny mid-Notts - another beautiful day. Macaroni cheese to make for tonight then some reading and knitting to pass the rest of the day. Must give my mum a call too which I always find difficult - definitely a glass empty not even half full kind of person. She leads a very comfortable life and still takes great delight in making me feel small. But I will do the right thing!! Stay safe and may Wednesday be kind to us all x

Kate54 Wed 22-Apr-20 11:28:01

Good morning from Lincolnshire! Query: how do all you clever people do that thing of commenting on several posts, using the posters’ names? The only way I can think of is jotting down the names as I read the thread and then referring to the list! Maybe you just know each other so well, you don’t need a memory-jogger!

Feelingmyage55 Wed 22-Apr-20 11:31:45

Good morning. I am making raised beds and have come in from the garden to fetch more tea and toast. I am feeling perkier today as I have not heard tv or radio news for 48 hours. Just had to have a break from it. The neighbours are getting their entertainment from me doing garden yoga. Good thing I can’t see myself!!!

GabriellaG54 Wed 22-Apr-20 11:33:04

Hi-de-hi campers...or should that be grampers?
Late posting here after going online to offer some of my next week's Sainsos slot to members of Nextdoor app. Soon had reply and list to add to my order and delivery only 50p ? as total was over £70.
Another Nextdoor app member was offering strawberry plants (in flower) for £1, freshly pulled spring rhubarb £1 per 1 lb and courgette and tomato plants ready next couple of weeks.
I got someone to buy 3 of each and I'll pay into bank.
It's a fantastic app and I'm loving it.
Blue sky and sun here in Godalming today. I feel energised after my run...no fox, I hope it's ok.
Only 1 item unavailable in today's Sainsos delivery is Paterson's shortbread fingers. Oh well!
I think it's coffee time and then online to buy Amazon shares which have exploded.
I hope you're all feeling a bit more positive in this sunshine, the warmth should ease those aches and pains a bit.
?? to everyone, we all need that colour in our lives.
Take care and see you all tomorrow....??

Gwenisgreat1 Wed 22-Apr-20 11:40:29

Well, thought it was a lovely morning until I read email from Asda who have cancelled my delivery slot on Friday!!! Not sure why. Thought I had found another slot on Saturday, when i placed my order as requested found it was a click and collect slot!!! Not easy for self isolating. No idea how to go about it, but undoubtedly will find out at some point.

GabriellaG54 Wed 22-Apr-20 12:06:20

How rude...
Happy Birthday wishes to Sweetpea60 ????

Happy birthday from Warminster Sweetpea??flowers. The weather here is glorious.
I am considering going for a walk but that is as far as it goes at present.
Good to hear from you Gilly. What a shame about the lupins.
Such lovely summer flowers which never let you down.
Kitty. I hope that you are feeling somewhat better now. Did you manage to get through to your GP?
Lovely to hear from all the regulars and hope that the hair trimming goes well Mick.
I am having a go doing my husbands hair tomorrow with hair trimmers etc.
Have a splendid day everyone and keep safe.x
