Good morning all from East London , usual day today , hope to take part in my daughter’s zoom art class later which will be different ! Managed to clear a box of late DH ‘s paperwork yesterday, watched the Big Night Out last night whilst doing it which helped .
I’ve had some geraniums delivered by a lovely family business I always visit and will pot them up today .SiL and I did a joint order so it was worthwhile for them and she drove to me , stayed in the car whilst I opened the boot ! Very surreal this life ..

Welcome back * Marydoll*. Like most, I missed you yesterday, and I was concerned. I so admire your positivity, it helps keep me on my toes!
You hadn’t posted before I wrote my last past.

Good morning from a sunny calm Morecambe Bay. What a worry Ginster hope the news is good when you get the results. ?.
Not much planned for today except a walk and some indoor exercise. Didn’t do the planned walk yesterday but explored a different path and have found a new circular walk.
Maybe start a crochet blanket as one of our neighbours looks heavily pregnant.
Take care and keep safe everyone.?

Brunette10 Fri 24-Apr-20 08:10:49

Good morning all from the fairly sunny Scottish Borders.

That sounds scary for you Gingster He must be somewhat better if they brought him home. Fingers crossed.

Friday night zoom quiz for us to make up for Tuesday which had to be cancelled when DD fell down the stairs.

I am doing a little of everything each day so it never gets boring. Starting with a little breakfast.

Have as best a day as you can especially all those with extra worries.

Brunette10 Fri 24-Apr-20 08:08:21

Good Morning form a beautiful Fife, it's going to be another sunny day and even warmer than yesterday hooray! Gingster you did the right thing yesterday for your DH and I hope he is feeling better today, well done NHS. Scentia glad yesterday went well for you. We will be yet again out in the garden and hoping to paint some fences today whilst it's nice and dry and warm. Our days are going in quite well but you do have to keep busy. I'm settling into this odd situation we have just now but I am obviously missing our 'normal' life. However we must all feel confident enough to start that whenever it's going to be. Hope everyone will have a good day and of course thinking of those not so well - keep your chin up!

Good Morning Mick and all from a sunny S Welsh coast.

I have an online shop order to put together this morning for delivery tomorrow. We had bags of compost delivered yesterday and DH planted sweet peas, Cosmos and lots of herbs in pots and also some tomato plants in wall mounted planters. The garden is looking a lot better. Bin collections this morning.

Best wishes to Mr Gingster and gilly ??
Hope to hear from Marydoll today.

brook2704 Fri 24-Apr-20 08:04:29

Good morning Mick and all from another lovely sunny Inverness morning. The weather is certainly doing it’s best to cheer everyone up !

Sorry to hear about your DH Gingster - what a worry. I hope everything turns out fine with him

A good turnout in our little cul de sac last night for the clapping. Everyone is being so friendly and chatty just now, so different as we don’t usually see them that much. I wonder if anyone will suggest a front garden tea party soon .....

I hope everyone finds something to enjoy today , special thoughts to those with worries and struggles and hugs to all missing their cuddles with little ones? ❤️

Good morning all from a beautiful sunny morning here in Glasgow, although it's only 2C .

I was feeling very unwell yesterday and thank you for those who messaged me, asking where I was. All my conditions seem to have flared up at the same time, I don't understand it, as I'm having the best enforced rest of my life. DH was in total panic mode, as I also had a raised temp!? I have to admit, I did have a wee nagging doubt.
As I have been incarcerated since 13th March, the odds of having the Virus were extremely low.

I want to especially thank MissSheba, ( Bathsheba ) for
making a great job of deputising for me in the maths class.

I never got a chance to cut DH's hair so I watched a YouTube video, when I was in bed yesterday. I'm none the wiser!?
Today is the day for it.

I hope to potter a wee bit in the garden today, if I feel ok. My new solar lights have arrived, exciting times.
I'm hoping to have a chat with my neighbours across the road, this afternoon. We will all stand at our doors and call across. As my ears are blocked, I will probably spend the whole time, shouting, Eh?!??️ Unfortunately, there will be no gossiping, we need to learn sign language.
They are some of my closest friends, since we met at Mother's and Toddlers over 35 years ago and by pure chance, all bought homes next to each other, nearly 30 years ago. We have seen more of each other since lockdown, as we all have the time to chat.
It has its compensations.

My plan is to make Millionaire,'s shortbread for them. I bought lots of condensed milk to make tablet for the cancelled wedding, so I have gallons of the stuff to use up.?

I hope all those struggling just now, have a better day.?
Many are finding it so difficult to cope with things. There are many sad and angry people posting on GN just now.

The sun is shining and my lovely DD has secured a Tesco delivery for today, so my world is back in equilibrium at least for for the moment! I'm trying not to dwell on my possible extended incarceration and take joy from the simple pleasures I can find.
That's not meant to sound smug, it's a coping mechanism.
Love to all, including the newbies. ?

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.
I awoke to the door bell and found a big box on my doorstep full of food!
Among other things there was 1 toilet roll, a mango, a huge onion and lots of other things. I can only assume it was from the council. I will have to call and say it is unnecessary.

Hoping the dog continues to improve today and we can one day work out a way to get him back to my DD.

GrannySomerset Fri 24-Apr-20 08:03:10

What a worry, Ginster, but so good to know that your DH was treated so well and so quickly. Hope the news is good.

Just off for what has become the highlight of my week - Tesco’s oldies hour. Really sad that this has become the best thing to happen, but glad that I can still go, gloved, scarfed and hand sanitised.

Hope everyone has the best day possible. I am trying not to think about the threat of another year of this!

Nannatwiglet Fri 24-Apr-20 07:58:34

Morning from sunny West Yorkshire!

Ginster...Hope your DH will be ok. Similar thing happened to me a few weeks ago...brilliant care and attention from ambulance personnel and nurses/doctors in A&E....
We are so lucky to have a caring NHS!
Hope today will be a better one for you both...with good results.

kittylester Fri 24-Apr-20 07:58:10

Morning all from a sunny North Leicestershire.

My job today is to source some potting compost and order bedding plants. DH has done a sterling job in the garden and I now want to do the pots.

gingster, I hope your husband is ok. I also hope we see Marydoll this morning and, as always, lots of love to gilly

NfkDumpling Fri 24-Apr-20 07:57:55

Morning All

It was overcast first thing here in the north of Norfolk! But the sun is burning through now. Hopefully the wind will swing round today as the breeze has been a bit parky.

Ironing is the highlight of today.

MawB Fri 24-Apr-20 07:53:29

Good morning all from N Bucks.
Gingster that sounds very much like a TIA so your DH should be fine but hopefully there will be follow-up. Sensible of you to take action and how good you didn’t have to wait too long for an ambulance. Best wishes to you both flowers

Scentia Fri 24-Apr-20 07:51:29

Oh Ginster. How scary, I do hope your DH is ok.
Thanks Curly for thinking about me and my job.xx

Scentia Fri 24-Apr-20 07:47:23

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire.
I had a lovely day at my new job for my first shift yesterday. I am in a bank system so if they liked me they will hopefully book me again!
No work in at the factory so we are working’ from home today.
The sun has got his hat on so I think a trip out with the pooch is on the cards, not sure if it will be on foot or cycle yet, we will see.
I do hope everyone has the best day possible today and please stay safe ❤️

Maybelater2020 Fri 24-Apr-20 07:45:59

Good morning Mick and all from a lovely sunny Chester. Usual day with nothing planned, I will just see where the day takes me. I do need to put a shopping list together to add to my son's home delivery as I have not been able to secure any myself. I have been going to my local small supermarket late in the evening when there have been very few customers and I have been able to get a reasonable variety of food. It will be good to have a wider choice though.

Like many of you this lockdown is getting to me now. It is just coming up to three years since I was widowed and this last year I was begining to build a new life for myself, getting involved in new activities and meeting new friends. It has all come to a halt and sometimes I feel really alone again. I just wonder how long this situation will last.

Too much time to think I really must find myself a project to keep me busy. I know there are many of you that have greater problems than me and I should count my blessings but sometimes it is hard.

Take care everyone and enjoy whatever you can today.

Curlywhirly Fri 24-Apr-20 07:45:27

Good morning from a lovely sunny Cheshire. I shall be sewing the hospital scrubs again this morning and then will have to give our front room (where I have set up the sewing machine) a really good hoover and dust, as the material I have been using frays like mad and makes so much mess; there is a fine layer of dust/fluff on all the furniture! Still, small price to pay for helping out with the shortage of nurses PPE.

Our son has my shopping list and will be delivering it today; we have a chat from a distance, so it's nice to catch up. His dad has given him his bike, and he's been out early each morning with a friend and doing 25k! Proud of him, he's really enjoying it and as he lives alone it's a chance for him to interact (from a safe distance) with someone. I was worried about him being alone, but he's been fine and he and his friends zoom every night, so there's still plenty of banter and contact.

I am going to tackle my grey roots today; himself is going to do the back of my head for me - my friend told me she did the same last week, but her husband was slapping the colour on like wallpaper paste and it was dripping everywhere - so I shall have to supervise very closely! We are going to have a BBQ tonight, so I am going to put some makeup on and wear something nice , I am sick of lolling around in comfy clothes, and no makeup.

Hope Scentia's first day at work went well, such a fine job to do, but must be quite upsetting, anything to do with vulnerable children must be heartbreaking, I would be wanting to take them home and mother them to death. Hope you all have a good day and that the sun shines in your part of the world.

Nannytopsy Fri 24-Apr-20 07:43:37

Good morning *Mick+ and all his followers. We have woken up to cloud this morning in Suffolk, which is a surprise! Still more gardening to do or I could sand down the patio doors for painting. Hmm a choice! Today we make the trip for our click and collect - such excitement!
I hope you all have a good day.

Gingster Fri 24-Apr-20 07:40:07

Good morning all. We are so blessed with this sunshine ?. Well yesterday was a strange day. DH woke with very slurred speech. No other symptoms but after an hour I was worried and phoned the doctors surgery, against DH wishes (I’m fine) . The receptionist said doc would phone me. 10 mins later I had a call and gave the doc all the info and he said I’ll send an ambulance ( I don’t drive) . We are out on a limb here on the coast. Ambulance arrived 10 minutes later and the wonderful paramedics gave him tests and off he went to Ipswich Hospital. I wasn’t allowed to go - patients only. He was seen almost immediately and had numerous tests MRI, ECG, blood tests and numerous blood pressure tests. Ambulance brought him home and he awaits the results by phone today. What a fantastic service all carried out by lovely reassuring staff. An extra clap last night. ?for the NHS. ♥️

Good morning Mick and the GM team, from another sunny day in east London.

Grocery delivery this morning (hopefully plenty of salad items ...) I went on line to check my delivery details and suddenly saw a whole lot of priority delivery slots were available between 18th - 21st of May. So I grabbed one, popped some items quickly into my basket and checked out.
Then I went back in to the ‘book a slot’ page to check the availability of other slots and the whole lot had gone ... rather like a mirage ...
I do think arranging grocery delivery slots has been a ridiculously difficult process, but I am very thankful to get them.

I have a beef pot roast for todays supper. I plan some gardening and some listening to R4 in the garden.

Have a good day all, special good wishes to those who need them and (in the words of Sgt Phil) ‘Let’s be careful out there’.?
