Good morning from a very sunny Angus coast where according to my phone it's only 2° out. In spite of the sun it even looks cold. Lots of rain showers (and hail) yesterday but the garden needs more. So sorry about poor Dexter - he's having a miserable time of it. I hope the vet can work some magic today. Gingster glad your DH has his diagnosis and medication - always better dealing with something definite than worrying about maybes. ? for a speedy recovery. I hope your parole comes about on Sunday Urmonstgran - it will be so lovely for you to escape the apartment for a while. I hope we all have a good day and the rain doesn't aggravate aches and pains. Now must go and "get this show in the road". Don't know where I'm going, but I'll know when I get there. Stay safe ?

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Dreary and intermittently damp is the South Yorkshire weather for today. Welcome it for the garden at least, but it will put the brakes on outdoor activities for the time being. I will bake today and then try and find my way back into some knitting that I started about two years ago and then abandoned! It’s supposed to be a cardigan but I think it may well end up as a crew neck - all that decreasing on the neck edge at the same time as the arm hole, and remembering the pattern, was doing my head in which is why I abandoned it!!
Fingers crossed for Dexter, dragonfly. Have the best day you can folks.

Morning Mick, morning All From a decidedly damp corner of Somerset. General cleaning and tidying this morning, see what the afternoon brings

marydoll I’m so sorry your neighbour has felt it necessary to be so overbearing. You are entitled to food deliveries, your family are allowed to do it. Wretched man. Can understand your fears dragonfly, Dexter is very special to you but remember you’ve done all the right things. Sounds as if you’re going to be as busy as ever kitty, good for you.

We’re worried about a neighbour, quite unwell but refusing advice to call an ambulance, terrified she’ll catch COVID-19 in hospital. She’s shielded, so frustrated I can’t go in to her. What a time we’re all having. Fine weather walkers here so we may be inside today, see what the afternoon brings. Be gentle with yourselves, tough times.

Good morning, no rain yet here in Cheshire, presume we will get it sometime today though. Busy day yesterday making yet more hospital scrubs; received a few phone calls from our daughter in law, who is also making some, trying to explain to her the 'tricky' parts of the sewing, as she's not been sewing for long and was a little unsure. Think we got it sorted ?✂️?

Gingster glad that your husband is improving, it's early days, and hopefully his speech will improve as the days and weeks go by.
Poor Dexter ? hope the vet can get him sorted, it's such a responsibility when pets are unwell, especially when it's not your pet.
Take care everyone and hope you all have the best day you can.

Good morning all from a very dull Glasgow.
Another disturbed night, so I have ordered the sleep spray, recommended by Gabriella.
Also, I managed to get a 15% discount, which however was negated by the fact that I treated myself to my favourite Molton Brown bubble bath. I have high hopes for the spray and a least I will smell nice during lockdown! ?

I'm not feeling very upbeat at the moment. Since my neighbour reported us all to the police, I have been very low and angry. DH is worried I will confront him and of course, it's impacting on my health.☹️
Time to give myself a shake!!!
Usually, everyone is to be seen happily pottering about the garden, washing cars etc, but our cul de sac was deathly quiet yesterday, not a soul to be seen.

DD brought our shopping yesterday, but was afraid to park outside our house and DIL decided not to come with the flour she managed to get.? She is in a difficult position, as her parents live next door to the nasty neighbour and he would see her, as she can't come to us, without seeing her parents. They would be offended if she only came to us. It's all very stressful.
I have tried to explain that they have a legitimate reason for coming, DH and I are officially sheilding, but they are terrified of visiting. It made me so sad. ?

I had to speak to my lovely pharmacist yesterday, as a prescription had gone missing. She was telling me that the lockdown has brought out the worst in some customers and they have been extremely abusive to the staff.
Why on earth would anyone do that to people who are trying to help them?
I'm trying to think of a special treat for them, when this is all over.

I plan to do some baking, as DH is complainng that that the tins are empty. They are not empty, the contents are just not to his liking!?
What he doesn't know is I have made him a rhubarb pie, which is certainly not to my liking. He can have the lot!!!
I have always found baking therapeutic, so I'm going all retro and having a trawl through my mother's old recipe books, looking for something different.

I will also need to compile some more maths puzzles for my unruly maths class. Feel free to join in all, there is no pressure, but lots of banter.

Dragonfly, I have no suitable words to comfort you,you have had such a rotten year, that also includes our Gilly.
Hoping to hear better news from Gingster today.
I also want to give jaq10 a mention, I believe she had a fall, so I hope she is ok.
Love to all.?

Good Morning, it is raining here on the S Welsh coast.
Not sure if we will manage a walk today. Maybe salmon for supper if I can find some in the freezer.
I hope that Dexter will be helped at the animal hospital, a worrying time for you all dragonfly.
Have a good day all.

Good Morning all, it was sunny bright and frosty when I crawled out of bed 2 hours ago , but it is clouded over here now
Was struggling with a card for DD , she is so good to me and it is her birthday tomorrow , I managed to accidentally produce an acceptable offering , used a cutting diet that should have been at the edge but it landed in the middle and gave me more ideas ,
Today we are going to try to clear another room in the old house , we moved over 2 years ago but then things got in the way
Funeral for a lovely lady this afternoon , we will stand at the door

Brunette10 Tue 28-Apr-20 08:03:25

Good Morning from Fife. It's brighter than I thought it was going to be and anything like yesterday it'll turn out to be quite a nice day yet again. Sorry to hear of everyone's troubles and anxieties today, it's not easy. It's never easy having problems in your life but at the moment is a lot more worrying. Not sure what's on the cards for today, have to check with DD if DGS's birthday card has arrived. I used an online Birthday Card business for the very first time so I do hope it lives up to it's promise of getting card there for right time. Hoping everyone has a good enough day. Rain later for a lot but I think our gardens are in need of it. Keep your chin up.

kittylester Tue 28-Apr-20 08:02:31

Just asked Google how far away you are dragonfly and its 4.7 miles - who'd have thought! No wonder the weather is different!! grin

kittylester Tue 28-Apr-20 07:59:09

dragonfly, it's raining here and looks set in. I think its travelling northwards and I suspect you are slightly north of us. I know its logical but I find it odd that 3 miles or so away the weather is different.

Sar53 Tue 28-Apr-20 07:58:33

Good morning everyone from a very wet Essex by the sea, a very different day to yesterday.
More painting in the hall today, DH does most of it but I get the job of doing along the top of the skirting boards as he finds it hard to bend. We want new flooring but I think that is going to have to wait.
I made an awesome chocolate cake yesterday, even if I do say so myself.
A casserole to prepare for dinner and some ironing to do later.
Have the best day you can and stay safe everyone xx

NannyJan53 Tue 28-Apr-20 07:58:13

Good Morning from a rainy Black Country. The garden needs it anyway!

No plans for today, we may paint the kitchen walls seeing as we cannot go outside. Usual video call to my 90 year old Mum, who seems to be coping quite well.

I have everything crossed that you may be able to go outside soon for a walk Urmston

Wishing your DH well Gingster and that he continues to improve.

Hoping Dexter improves Dragonfly, such a worry for you.

Wishing everyone a good day

dragonfly46 Tue 28-Apr-20 07:54:58

Good news Gingster

brook2704 Tue 28-Apr-20 07:48:59

Hope your DH continues to improve Gingster and so pleased you got such excellent NHS care ????

Pittcity Tue 28-Apr-20 07:48:04

Good morning from rainy Colchester. The rain is needed by the garden, as we haven't seen any since before lockdown, but won't do our mood any favours.
At least we don't have to go out in it.
Usual plans today...no planswink

Pantglas2 Tue 28-Apr-20 07:43:26

Well what a horrible morning to be sat in bed with the chamberpot! Usually by now the sun is peeking round the mountain but it’s raining hard and doesn’t look like it’s going to stop!

I’ll just have to linger for longer reading all the posts! Hope Dexter improves after his visit to hospital Dragonfly! I’m crossing fingers for Urmstongran- hope you’re allowed out soon!

Kedgeree for brunch later but for the moment I’m quite happy snuggled down in bed! Stay well folks x

brook2704 Tue 28-Apr-20 07:43:22

Good morning everyone from a cloudy but dry Inverness. Yesterday was much cooler but at least it stayed dry and quite sunny. Today looks like it’ll stay the same as the rain doesn’t look like it’s reached us here yet - for now !

Nothing different planned for today ? just the usual pottering in the garden, a bit of online exercise and a walk around the local area.

Definitely fingers and toes crossed that you’re let out on Sunday Urmstongran !

Hope you’re feeling better soon Nortsat and I hope there’s some better news for Dexter soon Dragonfly

Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and if you have to go out please take care ?

Mythbirtthedragon Tue 28-Apr-20 07:41:03

Good morning from east London, and it’s wet and grey where I am, proper rain overnight as parts of the garden look quite refreshed. DP’s birthday cake is in the oven; having spent days working in the lofts, he spent all yesterday in the garden putting up my dragon plaque and a wall planter, made a start on the side walkthrough and washed all the action men. GD has never been introduced to these; DS may not want her to be. So trying to make the cake without him seeing was a bit of a non starter. I did make a batch of oatie biscuits yesterday which we like but managed to miss out the sugar. Can’t see us eating them as they don’t taste right and fall apart when you so much as look at them. Maybe a lot of crumbles coming up. He wants to do a visit at a distance to see DD and family today in East Ham; it could be a brief one. Hope you have a good day.

Gingster Tue 28-Apr-20 07:40:27

A good damp morning to you all. I think most of us will be having rain today, but the gardens definitely in need of a good soak. Have t had rain here for at least 6 weeks. Well DH returned to the hospital for his results yesterday and then had another lot of tests, more thorough than the last lot. The consultant told him he had had a mild stroke but will prescribe extra meds and hopefully should be ok. Speech still a bit slurry but in time might correct itself. ?. We have so much to thank the NHS for. His treatment and care was first rate - couldn’t have asked for better. Extra clapping and a donation heading their way. ???.
Glad you’re enjoying your new job SCENTIA. You have to be a very special person to do the job you love. My Grandaughter plans to go into Mental Health Nursing , particularly with children. Due to go to Uni in September but now who knows ???
Poor you DRAGONFLY and poor DEXTER. Hope the vets can sort him out.
I can hear a plop plop plop coming from somewhere in the kitchen. I’ve wandered around trying to find out where it’s coming from but can’t locate it. ?. When DH arises, I’ll ask him if he can hear it and he’ll say NO . ??. Have a pleasant, cosy day indoors . The sun will return at the weekend ?.

dragonfly46 Tue 28-Apr-20 07:34:28

What rain kitty have we had rain?

Urmstongran Tue 28-Apr-20 07:25:28

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s another grey day. It’s mild though.

Himself is snoozing and I’ve made a cuppa.

We find out today if we adults are to be allowed out on Sunday for exercise.
?

I rang my 87y old step+father yesterday. Fortunately he’s doing okay. He is on his own since mum died two years ago. He is pleased by how regularly we all ring him and luckily he hasn’t cottoned on that it’s done by rota. Such a good idea really by our (teacher!) daughter. She said better that he definitely gets one call a day rather than the 3 of us inadvertently call him on the same day then perhaps nothing for a while. Obviously ‘extra’ calls are fine and we do, I think that’s why the set day calls aren’t apparent.

He was telling me that since the lockdown he hasn’t had any cold calling and he’s delighted! He laughed when I said now might have been the time he’d have enjoyed chatting and keeping them talking for a while!

Oh dragonfly poor Dexter and poor you. This has been such a worry for you and I know you’ll be fearing his eye cannot be saved.

Good luck with the hair clippers Puzzler! You’re a braver woman than me. Mind you as my dear dad used to say ‘what’s the difference between a good haircut and a bad one? About 6 weeks.’
?

Hope Tuesday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Nortsat Tue 28-Apr-20 07:19:03

Special best wishes to Dexter ?

Nortsat Tue 28-Apr-20 07:17:43

Good morning Mick and the GM team, it’s grey and wet in east London this morning.
I have woken up with breathing problems, related to my disability not CV19 thankfully, but it’s still tiresome. The change in the weather and the related change in atmospheric pressure creates the problems for me.

Quiet day, I think. Hoping the animated gift voucher I sent to a family member (in lieu of a birthday present) arrived safely with the animation in tact.
The gardens will be enjoying the rain, but our cats are disgusted. Minnie, our 7 year old cat came indoors soaked, demanding to be dried !

Hope everyone has the best day possible and ‘let’s be careful out there’. ?

Scentia Tue 28-Apr-20 07:07:35

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. It is wet out there today.
I will have a gentle start to today and take a slow walk into the factory to do some invoices and paperwork. I really enjoyed my day at my ‘new’ job yesterday and I can see me wanting to do this type of work exclusively, so I will start encouraging DH to retire, then we can get rid of the factory!!

DD sent me a video of DGS who has taken his first few steps, he looked confused as to why Mummy was so excited??

Hope everyone has a good day and all stay safe??
