Soop's kitchen refuge for the sharing of...

Good afternoon from a grey and overcast Shire. Doodle whatever has your man been up to? I understand he has had an accident of some kind. Lets hope he is on the mend. Do we need a convalescent wing, there seem to be quite a few mishaps in the kitchen?

News from the crumbfree zone (at least it is at the moment) Post it notes were becoming a problem. They either got lost, were not sticky enough to stay put, or I forgot where they were. So my lovely support worker suggested an item via A****n which has a screen + Alexa I am assured it will help BOTH of us with all sorts of things on a daily basis. We shall see. Anyway if anyone else in the kitchen has one you may be able to help me work out what to use it for.

Other than that complaints x many here in the house as the drizzle cake went in a trice. I have orders for another one but it will be lemon this time.

Long chats with family in NZ earlier and US later. Technology has moved on since tapesponding days.

I was 16 when I met Mr. S. who was 23 soop. Married him when I was 19 and it's our 40th wedding anniversary in September.

It sounds as if your sense of direction is on a par with mine. We were once at a wedding reception in a relatively small establishment. I needed to use the ladies and hadn't realised on exiting that there were two doors and the one I'd used to enter wasn't the one I chose to exit. I got lost.

Maw there does seem to have been an increase in nastiness on GN of late and there are one or two who just don't seem to care if they hurt others, in fact I was left wondering this morning if to hurt is the intention.

Regarding that photo. At sixteen one is a hell of a long way short of being mature. My well meaning father approved of me having a twenty one year old boyfriend. His parents didn't bat an eyelid when I would sit on his knee whenever I visited their home. Father thought that going to art school would be a "waste of time"...because I would get married and become a housewife. Naturally, I took my father's advice. It all seemed so romantic. Hey ho!

Dear Maw I haven't been able to access the thread that has caused you unwarrented sadness. I must have been "drug up" very differently from folk who fail to grasp the concept that insensitive remarks hurt the recipient.

WOW! Soop - what a stunning figure with gorgeous legs!

The hangover did clear but oh no I have another one today!!! Some people just do not learn. DH got a small keg of real ale and I HAD to help him drink it, so this morning once I had breakfast I was straight back to bed. DS decided that today was the day to completely change his bedroom around!Ahhh family life! This afternoon DH is going to hang some spice rack which we have had for ages, well years, so I am staying well and truly out of his way. I just wish the shops were open and I got spend an afternoon there. Oh well.

It is still a wild morning. I love to see the trees tossing. There's an enormous birch across the brook and I hope it's true that birches are more likely to bend and bow rather than break.

Morning everyone. Today all is well in the Shire and I could almost believe there is nothing amiss with my brain. Clarity rules and a productive morning has been spent so far. I have managed to read, understand and post on a couple of other threads unaided, visit the tip and produce an orange drizzle cake (please form a socially distanced queue), managed to get extra inhalers and repotted two houseplants.

susan that scenario beggars belief and constitutes professional misconduct in my book.

Excuse my early departure - I shall carry on with other things whilst the clarity lasts - as I know it wont!!

Maw,I think these mistakes happen far too often.Luckily my daughter knew that the advice she was being given did not match Henry’s medical history so had decided to disregard the advice until she could speak to somebody about it.
Thank goodness you had realised the mistake on the dosage for Paw’s medication.
It’s scary to think of how many mistakes are being made.
I am so sorry that you have been so upset by a comment made on another thread.I honestly don’t know what goes through some people’s heads and to write a nasty comment on such a deeply personal and emotional subject is the lowest.
Gravestones are expensive as I know from when we bought my dads but like you say add another nought,add two more,these lovely gentlemen were worth every penny.
As my daughter would say,vile people.
Have a break Maw,you will need it after such nastiness but know we in the kitchen are thinking about you and hope you don’t stay away from us for too long.

Well, that made me laugh Doodle - until I got to the bit where poor Sir D crash landed! How lucky was he? Those big castors can get one's feet in a right muddle sometimes and, as you say, the chairs then take off with a mind of their own. Hope he's not too sore and recovers quickly - so that he can brush up on those nifty dance steps!

Doodle and corner the casserole was really good, the meat melted in my mouth. I had to open another bottle of red- this was really only to enhance the meal! I have enough left over for several more meals but I doubt if the wine will survive that long!

Doodle please double check your DH tomorrow because he may have broken a bone- being (I assume) marginally over 29.

I did heaps of paper shredding today- looking for something specific- a sticky which goes on my brown bin (garden waste) to show I have paid in advance so it can be emptied. Naturally, I have not found it yet.

Susan I cannot believe that such a serious mistake went on for so long. Luckily you were on the ball or the consequences could have been very different.

That dietician is going to be lucky to have a job.
