Good morning from east London, damp again outside but there is some vague blue among the clouds. Dance session is postponed this morning as tutor has hurt her back; as she’s put a couple of routines on line, I will follow them. There will be a walk later, I need to get out as didn’t get past the front gate yesterday. It was good to see DD and family, luckily they didn’t get too wet. Things keep popping up in my calendar that I didn’t bother deleting; so far this week, we’d have played our first tennis league match of the season and the book club would have met. DP enjoyed his birthday cake yesterday; he actually believed I hadn’t made him one. Yay, I can still surprise him. Hope you have a good day.

Marydoll lemon thyme is lovely with chicken and fish. Glad you are feeling better.

Good Morning Mick and all. Dry at the moment here on our lovely part of the S Welsh coast. It rained yesterday until early evening, after it stopped we went to the top of some nearby cliffs to see the sea. The tide was in and the sea was calm, no surfers or walkers, it was beautiful yet very surreal. A few boats in the Channel.
We are having a veggie curry today, mainly sweet potato, carrots, parsnip, onion and spinach. Found three onion bhagies lurking in the freezer, hooray.
Like Puzzler61 I will make do with hard to come by online shops and luckily some local deliveries.
Dexter is in good hands dragonfly, a gentle hug for you and a gentle pat for him. Hope Marydoll is feeling better.
Take care everyone.

Good morning all from a very wet Glasgow. DH is delighted, as he has had to seed the bald patches in the lawn, we have so much moss. It has become an obsession.
He would normally be too busy to notice!

It also saves me watering my rocket etc, which has really taken off. I had lots of half used packets of seeds, which I sowed not having any expectations of them. They have mostly all germinated! I'm delighted.
For the first time, I'm growing lemon basil, no idea what to do with it!?

I'm actually glad it's raining, as it will give me a push to clean out the cupboard with all the plastic storage containers, with missing lids and wash the fridge.
They go into the dishwasher, DH empties it and they are never seen again!?

Thank you all for your kind words yesterday, when I was feeling low. I have decided to take the pressure off DIL, by not asking her to shop, as she really doesn't understand the implications of sheilding.
I have tried to explain it, but she she just doesn't get it!
DD God bless her, has decided to tackle the neighbour, if he so much as looks in her direction.

I'm sorry to hear about Dexter, Dragonfly, however, he is in good hands. Fingers crossed for a successful outcome.
Best wishes to all and have the best possible.

Good Morning from Fife, sun isn't out but it's dry and fine for the moment. Didn't have a good night's sleep last night so feeling a bit tired today. No matter not doing/going anywhere special wink. Hope all goes well for Dexter, poor wee dog. May bake some scones today. Cleaned out all my food cupboards yesterday so looking great and now I know where everything is smile. Hope today is kind to all. Keep your chin up.

Strangely, bright and sunny here at the moment. I might go out for a walk if it's still like this after breakfast. DH has a Zoom meeting with his class at City-lit this morning, his first time, I forsee trouble! Have a good day everyone.

“Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day ? ?”

A very good morning everyone from sunny Malaga! Woohoo! Someone’s turned the thermostat up at last! ‘Bout time I’ve never known such a miserable and chilly April.

I certainly plan to make the most of it. I shall be getting out the sun loungers and the suncream. I have a new audiobook to start so that’ll be me sorted this affy!

Himself is pacing up and down the tiles on the landing like a caged tiger. Thanks Gabriella yesterday for the heads up about our lockdown loosening. Andalusia & the Canaries are allowing us out for exercise at the weekend! Yay! Hair salons to open on 11 May and bars and restaurants on 25 May, all being well and of course will be under review.

Slow cooker for the 3 of us today - chicken & chorizo and I’ve got plenty of fresh veg to go with it.

? for Dexter dragonfly and hoping to hear good news later from our newbie about the arrival of her first grandchild born a few hours ago.

Hope Wednesday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Good morning from grey but dry Kent.
Himself has just left to join the queue at Tesco. On the way back from collecting him I have to call in and collect the two pieces of rubber a friend tells me will stop the knocking coming from my car. Apparently I have a loose exhaust and he will fix it for me.
Have a good day everyone

Good morning all from a sunny but cool Inverness. The rain still hasn’t reached us up here yet so we’re enjoying the dry weather whilst we can ?

I had to go to Boots yesterday to collect a prescription they were very organised and only allowing 5 customers in the shop at any time - and it’s a very big shop ! Once entered just inside the doorway I was asked what I’d come in for , luckily it was a valid reason to collect the prescription .. ... I wouldn’t have liked to be just browsing ....?

I hope everyone enjoys today as best they can , take care especially if you’re going out ?

Puzzler61 Wed 29-Apr-20 07:35:40

Good morning Mick and everyone. I think it has rained for 23 hours out of the last 24 here in Worcs. I think that’s enough for the garden for 1 week.
I’ve been on the I-pad first thing after waking up thinking “ it’s my best friend’s birthday on 12 May”. I wanted to get a special card for her from ? ?.com. Also bought an anniversary card for DD & SIL - 11 years married in May.
Usually delivery is next day but as with everything it is understandably taking a bit longer right now.
This afternoon DH and I are having a WhatsApp call with cousin and husband (closed relative DH has - he’s an only child. That should be nice, they’re a fun couple.
BTW our roast lamb tea was blooming tasty and am getting used to having an in-the-week-roast now we can’t go out.
I’m not sure if our lockdown is too strict or not strict enough but I’ll follow the UK rules. Going out to a shop doesn’t appeal to me (though normally I love to shop). I’m making do with online ordering of anything we need.
Warm wishes to everyone still working (Scentia in particular), anyone with poorly relatives or pets, and anyone having a low mood start to the day. Be kind to yourselves.

Hello everyone from another grey morning in Oxfordshire.
Work this morning...the building industry is busy which is good for the economy but I am not so sure everyone is keeping 2m apart.
Just had a parcel delivery and anyone would think we had a dog with all the growling at the front door....it was our cat!
Hope everyone is ok and special wishes to Dragonfly

cornergran Wed 29-Apr-20 07:31:57

Dexter is having the best possible care dragonfly. No one could have done more. A pat for him and a hug for you.

kittylester Wed 29-Apr-20 07:27:08

We have similar weather today, dragonfly. grin

NfkDumpling Wed 29-Apr-20 07:25:52

Morning All

Dim and drizzly here in the north of Norfolk. The garden may be rejoicing in the rain but it doesn't help lift the spirits.

Stay sane and safe Everyone.

dragonfly46 Wed 29-Apr-20 07:25:16

Good morning from a soggy Leicestershire.

Dexter probably needs an operation. I have to ring the vet today to get more details. She seemed quite hopeful though.

Stay safe everyone

kittylester Wed 29-Apr-20 07:25:15

Morning all from a very soggy North Leicestershire.

A Sainsbury's delivery is due this afternoon. I've had a list of substitutions - who on earth thinks low fat French dressing is a suitable substitution for Caesar dressing?

Had a phone call yesterday from the shop that has our new sofa and sideboard in storage - it was due to be delivered during the 1st week of lockdown - which they would like to deliver!! Yippee! We now need to see if the carpet can be fitted first.

Little things in strange times.

Take care everyone.

Sar53 Wed 29-Apr-20 07:11:00

Good morning everyone from another damp and dismal day in Essex by the sea. What a difference to a couple of days ago.
Well the hall is decorated and very nice it looks too. Will look even better when we can get some new flooring.
A tea loaf to bake later and all the books to return to the bookcase in the hall.
We are having a quiz with my 2 daughters and sil's this evening, should be fun.
Have the best day you can and stay safe everyone xx

Pantglas2 Wed 29-Apr-20 07:09:09

Morning all from a dry at the moment north Wales where I’m expecting rain to restart soon. I’m sure all you GN gardeners will tell me it’s much needed but I simply don’t see why it just can’t rain at night while I’m asleep!

Not a lot planned today - shopping list ready for the dreaded fortnightly shop tomorrow - isn’t it funny grandMattie how you’re looking forward to it and I’m not!

Mick - your American friend thinking we Brits are regimented made me smile because I have Spanish friends who think our lockdown has been too relaxed compared to theirs! Perspective is everything isn’t it!

Stay safe and well everybody x

Scentia Wed 29-Apr-20 06:59:34

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. It is wet out there today, I will take the pooch out for a bike ride later. I am having a quiet day at home today as I have a 48hr shift at my ‘new’ job tomorrow, that includes a few sleeps I might add!
I seem to have pains everywhere today, it is the damp weather, I am sure of it as I have had no pains for months?

I hope everyone has a good day today and stay safe?
A special hug for Dexter.?❤️?❤️

cornergran Wed 29-Apr-20 06:50:08

Morning Mick, morning All. Dry start to our corner of Somerset, it seems more rain later.

Our friend continues to be a concern. Her GP has strongly advised A&E, a blood transfusion is likely to be needed, sadly her fear is keeping her at home. Worried encouragement from her daughters and friends is accepted and ignored. I wonder how many others are holding back in these strange times.

Admin for me this morning, a walk this afternoon with umbrella if needed. Mr C has volunteered to iron. I knew there was a reason I married him. grin. Be gentle with yourselves and please, be careful out there.

Beechnut Wed 29-Apr-20 06:49:29

Good Morning everyone. It’s damp on Severnside but looks brighter this morning.

Another indoor pottering day and I think I can put off a shopping experience for at least another day. I’m wondering if the lockdown will change how I shop permanently when we are allowed out.

When you are allowed out Urmston I think you’ll need gillys Friday girl ?

Stay safe and well all and a special pat for Dexter ?

grandMattie Wed 29-Apr-20 06:48:15

Good morning. It's grey and cold. we had the heating on yesterday, it was so miserable.
I don;t think we're regimented in the UK, I think most people take the lockdown very seriously.
Yippee, it's supermarket day today... our oe and only foray into the wide world each week.
Stay well, stay safe.

12Michael Wed 29-Apr-20 06:17:19

Good Morning Everyone,
Its another grey start and wet as well this morning in Brackley.
Shop this morning, a few things needed , planning my Sunday and Monday slow cooker meal , a mix of frozen and can in the meal plus other things to spice it up.
Once shopped ,will lockdown as that is also a form of exercise, trying to get what I want at a reasonable pace, and then carry it home.
I heard from someone email wise who is stranded in the US, but sees her sons over there , I shared as to lockdown with her and she told me where she its very laid back, but going to the bank one person at a time.
She describes the UK as being to regimented in its lockdown.
take care
Mick
