As lightning never strikes the same place twice I'll type straight into this space!
Well, Winter seems to have arrived and will be with us for some time, according to the young lasses dispensing the forecasts.
No mention of Corvic tonight! other than to say I noticed a news item about an "Apple" app. dealing with facial recognition problems using smart phones when wearing a mask! hmm Problem solved, apparently. Whatever will they think of next!?
I'm a bit worried about the non-arrival of several UK magazines, 4 in fact. 2 are asking via email, for subscription renewal, but none have arrived lately. Googling doesn't help, but I guess all will be revealed in due course.
The VE Day celebrations looked good on TV. Couldn't see any Conga lines, though!
Interesting cartoon in today's paper which is largely biased towards Queensland and NSW.
Church showing notice "20 persons now allowed to attend funeral services". Vicar on steps greeting a group dressed for the beach, carrying Eskies and beer stubbies, with Vicar asking " Did you know the deceased well?
Reply; " Wouldn't know him from a bar of soap, but all the pubs are still shut!".
Only in Queensland! grin
It's nearly Sunday so I'd better drop the irreverence. hmm

Oh Rufus, love the joke but maybe some dissenters!
Quite a lot of discussions elsewhere as you know, makes a bit of a change someone actually acknowledging my post! ( other than you )?‍♀️If only to shoot me down.

Hi Rufus2. Always good to hear from you. I hope its not the Oldie that hasn't arrived? I've had stories in a couple of magazines recently and really wanted to see them as I like to see how they're illustrated but no luck. The shop 'forgot' to keep them for me. I've tried to order back copies though. Fingers crossed for next week. The distributor did say that there were all sorts of delays going on. You'll get your mags yet.

I've tried to order back copies though
Jane Hope they arrive soon. Can't find my latest copy and just recently renewed; hang on! I've just spotted April in my scanner. there's a cartoon I'm hoping to place here.Don't know if this helps, but I've had success in the past with a company called "Magzter" They seem to specialise in digital mags. but I've also purchased hard copies of back issues of The Oldie.
Might be worth a go if you are desperate! smile
