The Old Argy Bargy Bar.....a new lease of life!

chewy

Was that a ferret in Big Jim's drainpipe jeans? What a disappointment!

So this is where you are, Chewy!!! You are supposed to be in school! Doodle has led you astray, AGAIN

I will speak with you later, in response to that note you sent!

How is Geronimo, the head of the ferret clan? I often think fondly of him trapped inside Big Jim's drainpipe jeans .?

Oops! Sorry chewy the little blighter just slipped out of my hands. Can someone catch it ......look there it goes heading for the cellar ?

You'll be relieved to hear that, whilst the Argy was in lockdown, I honed my skills in ferret breeding. I've got hundreds of teeny weeny ferrets, scampering around, looking for lovely new homes. I've brought a couple in for you to cuddle but be careful you don't let them go..........

jacq would you like a treble gin with that tonic??

oldbut ( if you will forgive the shortening of name) yes, I plan to steam clean the comfy bar chairs today, so sorry about the substances you sat on.?Take 3 doughnuts as compensation.

Correct GG13 the ‘herbs’ are what gives my baking it’s kick.?

lemongrove are they your special doughnuts the ones with the herbs in? Well that is what you called that strange large plant growing in the outhouse which had to be hidden last time The Argy was raided ???????????

It’s a very nice corner, but I shouldn’t have sat down, it’s not my feet that are tacky ?. I LOVE doughnuts.

When I joined Gransnet just over a couple of years ago I stumbled into the Argy Bargy Bar but only got as far as the door as collapsed laughing. Well done on re-opening in these troubled times. My only problem is I can't laugh too much just now because of my cracked rib but it will be a tonic I'm sure.

The super duper coffee machine is on, and to celebrate the bar re-opening there are doughnuts! ???

Blimey I just heard Fire Brigade and Big Hoses why didn't one of you wake me? ..........Aah you wanted to keep the fire an to yourselves, not fair you know that I have e a thing for men in uniform ?‍??‍??‍??‍??‍??‍?

Far from it Urmstongran I wear mine all the time around the bar, along with my lurex mini dress and high heels....even when doing the cleaning ( one can’t let one’s standards drop).

Another newbie here! I’ve loved reading about all your antics. This bar has quite the reputation! I’ll be back tonight. I’m not your girl for cleaning. I’ll check out something ritzy to wear. Will my feather boa be OTT?

Yes chewy I’ll spray it around a bit. It’s called Eu de Toilet ?

I woke up and thinking I’d been on the fairground Waltzer and then remembered I had been giving all the bottles a thorough taste test hic.

Just watch where you put your feet oldbutstill, the floors a bit "tacky" at the minute. That stuff sticks to you're feet like to a blanket. Still smells a bit in here Doodle, have you got any of that scent left over that you were trying to flog at the Alphabet Bar?

oldbutstill you have crept into a dangerous place. You are very welcome. Sorry we don’t do posh cakes here. The best we can manage is some of soop’s burnt offerings delicious pasties. I would sit in the corner out of harms way if I were you. There’ll be a mad rush when the firemen arrive.........one look at a man in uniform and well.......I shall say no more. I don’t want to put you off coming in ?

Ooh, I’ve just sneaked in the open window. Not been here before but heard rumours of Dettol. Now, where’s me nightglasses and bucket. Can I swap for a slice of sultana cake?

Call the fire brigade Doodle and tell them that they will need the extra big hoses.
Am off to the back room for a lie down, call me when it’s safe to come out.zzzzzzzzz

It's good to be back! Oh for a like button.

No point in cleaning up tonight Lins1066; I've brought a bit of work home with me and I've dropped it on the floor behind the bar. Don't worry everybody, it'll soon clean up with a gallon of Dettol and a Karcher.

Best open some windows and pass round some gas masks until the fumes go.......

Trust you to bring that up again, Lemon. Next thing you know, that grass Soop will be in to add her tuppence worth.
Lins, you will need a hazard suit, at least two to protect yourself.
Do you possess a methane monitor? Might be wise to arm yourself with one.

Hello lins welcome. If you can help clear up that’s great. When (and if) you come up out of the cellar, if you are still breathing I’ll get you a drink. I warn you now it could be dangerous ?

Oh lemon don’t remind me. What a night that was.....oh I think I need a drink myself. The memory of it has got me all of a quiver. chewy we need a drink ?

OMG it’s the septuplets situation all over again! Or rather the time that marydoll thought she was expecting multiple babies ( by Santa....don’t ask!) The gas explosion in the cellar
Almost wrecked the bar. When marydoll staggered out in tatters, she was slim again. We were all traumatised, not just Big Jim.?

As a newby here Marydoll I'll do a bit of cleaning, brought my Jif and marigolds.
Mind you I nearly didn't make it, was stopped by the police but said it was an essential journey ?
