Yes I've got another chufty on. Today, for the first time ever, I cycled 10 miles and I didn't have to get off and walk up any hills. I managed all of them. Even one I thought I wouldn't be able to do.

Gransnet team can we have a chufty emoji please?

We are very impressed! And slightly exhausted just hearing about it. No chuffy emoji we're afraid. Can we offer you some sunshine, a cupcake, some wine or a brew? grin

Well done, especially the hills. I might be able to walk it but cycle? no!

Well done, you did better that me as I did 12 miles but just had to walk up a long, long hill. Mr Barmey went on in front and then came back looking for me. Told him I was just enjoying the scenery. Must admit my leg muscle feel a bit today I think because I have overdone it on the cycling. I have been out most days.wine

12 miles. I'm seriously impressed. I don't know how long it will be before I reach that milestone.

I must admit though that the more I cycle, the more I enjoy it.

What type of bike do you have? Drop or straight handlebars or the sit-up-and-beg type?

GrannyGravy13 Thu 14-May-20 15:25:12

Well done Vampirequeen ??

grannysue05 Thu 14-May-20 15:27:27

Oh well done Vampirequeen. I am thinking of getting a bike but I have not cycled since high school days.
DH thinks I would be better with an electric bike as I am 78 years old....no health issues (hope!).
The Pendleton in midnight blue looks nice hmm
Anyway Vamp you have inspired me !

I have a 24 gear mountain bike with a big bum gel saddle grin. DH has ordered a granny gear for me so hills should be easier when he fits it. He wants me to change to an aluminium frame bike because mine is quite heavy but I like my bike so I'm not sure if I want to change it.

Brilliant work!

Well done - I used to cycle everywhere especially in Holland.
My DD commutes across London for work and it takes 2 hours. Apparently it would only take her 2 hours to cycle!!

Well done vampirequeen 10 miles is some going, its great when you spur people on, that's all we need sometimes just a little persuasion. Presume you were on the road(not off road) how do you keep track of the miles, I have a computer thingy that goes on wheel but seems complicated.

I think I am in need of a granny gear lol.

Wow - high achievers - well done !!!!!

We were on road most of the way but last 2 miles were off road as we cut across the fields on a bridle path. I use a phone app called Map my Ride. It measures distance, speed, time and calories. It also links to My Fitness Pal if you're trying to lose weight.

Today my calf muscles are tight so rather than cycling we'll go for a good walk to loosen them up. I measure that using the Map my Walk app.

Thanks , will have a look at the app. smile
