Are we being nicer to each other at the moment?

I've definitely noticed people being much more courteous to each other in the supermarket.
But quite the reverse on Gransnet.

I think it'll cause a certain amount of hostility maybe later on if someone gets "too close for comfort " anywhere.
I know I won't be too thrilled in the lead up to Christmas shopping when the greed strikes and you see an arm coming over your shoulder to grab whatever it is they need.
I'll cross that bridge when I come to it

Once things have a near normal feel about them everyone will be back to crowding into shops etc. Will it be " nice " then ? I doubt it because it'll be at the back of people's minds that a second wave could be imminent so the stock-piling starts again.

I keep forgetting social distancing and yesterday, I was politely told of, for eagerly rushing to the Sale rack in Tesco, not realising there was another woman rummaging through it already ?

I noticed people you don't know smiling and acknowledging you on our walks. Usually they hardly do it even if they do know you!

I would say yes. Obviously there are exceptions but I think individuals are coping in a cheerful, philosophical way.

I nearly always get chatting to the person in front and behind me in supermarket queues, who just accept the current situation for what it is.

Now some businesses are a different matter as those trying to get help from various quarters will testify.

I'd say that around here people are keeping to themselves a bit more so it's hard to tell. I haven't noticed any difference.

People unite against a common enemy and that's what is happening right now.
I've seen a few spats over people not keeping their distance from each other. Some folks seem to think it doesn't apply to them.
One thing I do hope for, is everyone being more aware of the need for personal hygiene. I have to confess that the advice we are being given are things I do anyway...washing hands frequently, wiping down your shopping and door handles. This is how all viruses are spread, not just the current one.
