Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry but it is also cloudy here in Brackley this morning.
Today , a general tidy up in my flat ,and try and exercise a little.
TV wise I have ben watching some of Matt Damon films ,started last night on Channel 50 Sonny Film Classics with Dean martin others follow on in the evenings this week.
Still wish I could get into my former routine where I have got to know people and in some cases become friends .
Mick

I get Accrete D on prescription for osteoporosis which contains the suggested 400IU Nortsat. If you take Vit D on medical advice your GP may agree a script is necessary for you.

Good Morning to you all from a sunny N.,Cambs.,
DH is looking forward to his first golf today, since the lock down.
Hoping to get to N.W.Norfolk tomorrow, for the day, to try to tackle the long grass, ( it's first cut of the year would normally have been late March/early April).
Try to have a decent day, all you fine folk.

Good late morning everyone from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea. I've baked a tea loaf this morning whilst DH has gone into our nearest town to bank some cheques.

We go for our walk and then sit looking out to sea and talk about the future and what we would like to do when things ease. DH has just over a year to work until he reaches state retirement age but we are waiting to hear news about his job. It's all a bit up in the air at the moment and it's hard to make any firm plans.

I love reading your novellas Marydoll and I'm so pleased that you are getting somewhere at long last Gillybob.

My year 6 granddaughter is hoping to go back to school on the 1st June. The school have sent out an email detailing how it will work but it's not yet set in stone. A difficult decision to make for parents, especially when they have other children who won't be going back, as my daughter does.

Have a good day everyone, flowers for anyone who is struggling and hugs for anyone who needs one. Stay safe xx

Marydoll Tue 19-May-20 10:21:47

Norsat, I get my VitaminD on prescription, as my levels are non-existent and I can't have my osteoporosis infusion if my levels are too low.
Could your GP supply them for you?

Nortsat Tue 19-May-20 10:16:29

Good morning Mick and the GM team from a sunny east London.
Love the smile on your GD’s face looking at her super birthday cake, NannyJan.

I have been emailed and advised that my wretched phone is repaired, so hopefully the problem is dealt with! The microphone just stopped working, so our GP phoned me and I could hear her, but she couldn’t hear me ...
The wretched thing was only upgraded in February....

My partner is teaching on Zoom today. I’m sorting out a bag of donations for the food bank and then some sunshine in the garden.
There were no Vitamin D tablets in my grocery delivery, this week. I take it on medical advice, but now that some people are suggesting it’s a protector against Covid 19, I expect it will disappear like flour and pasta did ...

Sausages and potato salad for supper tonight, sometimes the simplest suppers can be the most enjoyable.

Have a good day all, best wishes to all who need them and ‘let’s be careful out there’. ?

Make sure those charity bags are tied very tightly Marydoll. I was having a look in one bag for charity and took two items back out thinking, I probably would wear these again?. They will reach the charity shop another time.

Good morning all,

The sun is trying to shine at the moment, though it’s still on the chilly side and that pesky breeze is still with us. It is supposed to warm up and tomorrow is meant to be the hottest day of the week. We’ll see. ?

It was warm through the night, which disrupted my sleep somewhat, so I’m still coming round, though I am up and dressed. DH is pottering in the garden again, before back at work tomorrow. (Still from home). Not quite how we had envisioned his few days off, we should have been on our return journey from Germany today. Oh well, here’s hoping travel is possible next year.

I hope you all keep safe and well. Take care.

Good morning all from a sunny mid-Notts. I'm currently enjoying my cuppa whilst his Lordship the cat whines around that doesn't like the breakfast Mr BA has fed him!! I've got a sainsbury's slot for Thursday and I don't want to speak too soon but the page where you book a delivery slot looked almost back to normal yesterday smile. Whatever you are doing stay safe and may Tuesday be kind to us all x

Good Morning everyone! Another very warm day on the Med’.

I should be running around doing chores outside before the heat makes work that bit harder, but my breakfast arrived plus DH plus dogs to announce that they had already been out walking, had seen no people and were now ready for a lie down (dogs not DH!) so I’m late up .... again.

Still, who cares. Still think we need to do what we want and keep up our spirits at every opportunity.

I don’t have a A Silent Man but he’s an excellent listener and we make each other laugh a lot. Nothing wrong with talking to yourself, gilly. I expect you find yourself really good company and very sympathetic when you have to have a moan! I know I do. My self chats usually help me remember important things when I’m in the midst of something and can’t stop/be bothered to make a note.

For example, if packing to go off in the car or for a holiday (I wish..) if I need other things from somewhere else in the house, I’ll chant the words so I don’t forget - and chant until I’ve got them. My DH often hears me mumbling stuff like ‘earrings, plasters, dog chews, jelly shoes!’ Nothing makes me more annoyed as we’re 20 miles from home and I’m asked “did you pick up my......” so, my aim is not to forget by being distracted (before we leave).

I find as I’m older I can still multi-task. Men, not so much. The other evening we were going to watch a film and when questioned as to why I was setting the cooker timer, I said that I’d put the lawn sprinklers on and put one of our hoses on an ornamental tree. 20 minutes for that. Didn’t want to forget. DH with his bat ? hearing....can hear the cooker timer, probably from Spain? I cannot. I have Tinnitus.

One of the cats had clearly gone clubbing, so didn’t come in until almost 1 o clock. DH had poured us drinks and been out to the kitchen before the film. He’s efficient, so I don’t normally check on what he does, but on finally locating cat and getting into bed, I suddenly thought ‘he’s not mentioned sprinklers.’ I went outside, sprinklers automatically off, but hosepipe was still watering tree for just the 5 hours.?. Have to say, it’s looking very perky!

Finally off to hang out laundry in a very hot wind. (Oh, be still my beating heart! )

Please have a very good day, everyone. Be kind to yourselves and above all Stay Safe.

Hugs from ?? ? ?

Good Morning from a cloudy Black Country, where it rained yesterday evening, but not enough to do much good for the garden.

DGD had a good 9th Birthday, we had a video call and included Mum on it. They had a lovely buffet lunch in the garden then a walk in the countryside. DD made her a lovely rainbow cake (pic attached)

Welcome back Marydoll's novellas! I think most of us have had a re-think about our lives and what we may do different.

So pleased you are slowly getting somewhere with the bank gilly

I feel the same sometimes Gingster . I will certainly value the small things in life. I tell myself at least I and my family are safe and well.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Greyduster Tue 19-May-20 09:08:52

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is shining in South Yorkshire. We were planning a trip out today but add the drive to the walk and it was too long to contemplate not having any “facilities” to call on if required!! I’m sure we’ll find something to fill our time. Have a good day folks.

fatgran57 Tue 19-May-20 09:03:47

Also concerned that MOnica has not posted for weeks and now Gabriella is not posting.

Really hope we hear from them both very soon.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 19-May-20 08:59:38

Goodmorning Mick and all x

Another bright blue sky day here in S E Essex, we have been ordered by the five year old that the bouncy castle must be put up today. So that is GrandpaGravys job first thing.

I had a tear yesterday, DD has had an email from GC school letting her know the arrangements for GC (reception class) going back to school next month. If she decides to send him in they will have to return home as I am asthmatic and do not want to catch the virus. I will miss them so much, I cannot bear the thought of not having my cuddles each day, the laughter the lessons (not so much laughter!) The baby was 10 weeks when they arrived we have watched him grow and change. I appreciate that I have been very fortunate, this cannot last forever and I shall be able to cuddle all eight GC one day, as will all us Grandparents. I am having very bad thoughts involving extremely bad language directed at this flipping virus ?????

I am off to give myself a good talking to (and probably have a good cry) in the shower.

Keep safe and well folks ?

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

gillybob Tue 19-May-20 08:54:28

Like me Pittcity Do you find yourself almost wishing for a drama in the bread isle or a fight among the loo rolls just to have something interesting to say . grin

Pittcity Tue 19-May-20 08:48:02

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Another warm day. Will spend time in the garden.
You are just as mad as the rest of us gillybob. I find myself giving DH a detailed description of a trip to Lidl simply for something to say.

Gingster Tue 19-May-20 08:43:47

Good morning all from the Suffolk coast. Sunny but a bit overcast if you know what I mean. The sea is calm and the horizon is clear. The flag in the beach tells me there’s hardly any breeze. So hopefully another lovely day.

I too have been wondering where Gabriella is. I enjoy her jolly posts. Hope alls well.

Made chocolate brownies yesterday which turned out scrummy. My baking is always a bit hit or miss. But I do enjoy it. Trouble is we’ve got to eat them now and I’m determined to watch my waistline. Well I’m watching but nothings happening ?. It’s certainly not getting smaller. I’ll give some to my neighbour - that will help.

Spoke to both my brothers last night. They are 10 and 8 years older than me and still treat me as their little sis. It’s lovely! Hope to get to see them soon. ♥️

I’m sure I’m not the only one, but is anyone else getting tearful over tiny things. I’m not depressed or miserable but watery eyes abound. ?. I looked back in my diary and January and February seem like another age. I’d forgotten what it was like to meet friends and family for usual gatherings! How soon our lives have become so different and small.

Oh well, less of this maudlin. Have a gentle day all. ?

gillybob Tue 19-May-20 08:40:21

My DH has always been a thinker . He only speaks when he has something to say and it’s even less than usual nowadays. Whereas as a direct contrast I talk to fill empty spaces. Lately I am so lonely I just talk to myself and often give myself a bit of a running commentary on what ever task I am doing . Mad? Just as bit . grin

gillybob Tue 19-May-20 08:37:27

I’ll trade you my rain but you have to take the grey skies and cold too dragonfly no cherry picking the best bits grin

Brunette10 Tue 19-May-20 08:37:03

Good Morning from a dull Fife, it's so dreary. Had a better night's sleep than last so happy at that. Plan is to make a large dish of lasagna today and may freeze it depending what I fancy for tea tonight. Not sure what plans Nicola has for laying the pathway ahead but I think she may have something to tell us soon. I certainly hope so but I'm not getting too excited. It is beginning to get quite boring though and so look forward to when our lives get back on track. That said, I do understand why we are doing what we are doing. Hope everyone is ok, keep your chin up.

dragonfly46 Tue 19-May-20 08:35:38

I am quite envious of all you lovely people who have had rain. My garden is dry as a board.

Looks like you might be getting somewhere gilly.

Forgot to say I am taking Dexter’s cone off today I am so excited! Not told him yet.

Susan56 Tue 19-May-20 08:32:30

Good morning from the Shropshire borders where it is dull and breezy☹️

My DH is another silent man Marydoll!

Take care and stay safe everyone.

Urmstongran Tue 19-May-20 08:31:55

Ah okay Mick. Thanks for the clarification. Gave me the opportunity to get my bit of gossip out though!
?

Urmstongran Tue 19-May-20 08:28:07

^DH is the original silent man^?
Ah Marydoll another confirmation that opposites attract!

Love your novellas by the way. Keep ‘em coming.
?

Marydoll Tue 19-May-20 08:26:38

Bellasnana @ proud mum, I meant to offer my congratulations. What a very clever daughter you have!

I too noticed Gabriella's absence and wondered where she was.

Glad to hear your news, Gilly.?
