Good Morning Everyone,
Its a grey cloudy and windy start to the day here in Brackley with signs of rain .
my usual Friday shop, also I have noticed locally that the street markets on there respective days are starting to reappear places like nearby towns Banbury and Bicester are stating small with the 2m relevant distance still in place.
Take Care
Mick

Hi Everyone, sorry its not morning, we got woken this morning at 5 am with next door having a karaoke. You can tell she doesn't work and doesn't consider anyone, so feeling rather tired. Had to take DH to hospital yesterday as they thought he had a DVT, but luckily its not, means I got behind at work, as I had to take the day of work. Marydoll glad your daughters looking at rearranging her wedding something to look forward to xx not sure when our 2 christenings are going ahead, or wether our cruise in September will be cancelled. I also like the sound of your empire biscuits a favourite of mine, but if you can buy them here in the NE, they are not the same lol Gillybob we have had mixed responses from clients about claiming the loans, so understand your frustration, and then having to keep applying for employees wages, its a nightmare. Hopefully you will get it soon xx

Good afternoon everyone. It rained overnight here in the Gower and today it is very windy.

Happy Birthday Auntieflo, enjoy your day. A trip to the garden centre should be quite uplifting I think and seeing your DD will be lovely I'm sure. Perhaps she can bring some cream for that cake ?. Nice to see you posting? ??

Happy Birthday Mr Brunette ?

dragonfly, I'm sure you will miss Dexter, despite all the difficulties his poorly eye issue has put you through. You have looked after him so we'll I'm sure he's become very attached to you too. Still, go home he must and I'm sure he'll be a happy little dog going home.

Susan, good to hear that the decorating is complete. I hope you can have the carpet fitted, and soon and then your new furniture delivered and in situ. It will be lovely I'm sure.

I too have noticed there seem to be a lot of teachers here.
Gosh, I'm glad I never had to teach a class of 47 children! I think that's why I opted to teach FE ?

Just some pottering for me today and making some flat breads to go with my tandoori chicken which is currently marinating nicely for dinner later ?

Take care of yourselves everyone and especially those of you going through additional trials and tribulations ❤️

Good morning from a very windy East Midlands.

Walk out this morning before 9am and thankfully missed the nutty neighbours yet again, phew!

Happy Birthday Auntieflo and MrBrunette wine

A takeaway for tea tonight and maybe get the paints out and do a bit of watercolours.

Stay safe and sane. X flowers

Good morning all from a sunny at the moment Glasgow but it is blowing a hooley and a forecast of heavy rain is due. All I can say is....it’s good for the garden!

Thankfully the greenhouse base is finished to correct measurement as it never would have been finished now the weather has changed.

I can’t believe your DGD is starting school this year Marydoll I’m sure you will enjoy teaching this very special pupil. DD making wedding plans, a little bit of normality in your life which upon reading has even lifted me, reading of positive steps.

Although part of your time with Dexter was fraught with worry the house will seem strange without him for a while.

Happy Birthday Auntiflo. Lovely to see you back and I hope you enjoy your special day. ????

Hoping you are a bit more pain free now Jacq. Look after yourself and hope you will be joining us again soon?

My friend phoned yesterday and we had a very long blether about everything and anything but what had us laughing was our disclosures re lack of housework duties due to the fact that no one is visiting anyway and we have all the time in the world to get everything ship shape before we have visitors?

The one productive thing I plan for today is a change of bedding, other than that, start another jigsaw and generally hunker down after two very busy days and relax.

Have the best day you possibly can all.

Urmstongran Fri 22-May-20 10:13:18

Wishing you many happy returns of the day Auntiflo and welcome back - we’ve missed you! x ??

gillgran Fri 22-May-20 09:59:45

Good Morning to you all, It's overcast here in N.,Cambs., but we've had no rain, now it's windy.

Best Birthday wishes to Auntieflo. flowers
That meal out looked wonderful Urmstongran, did it feel strange to be out? Something we all can look forward to. (fingerscrossed)
Puzzler61, afternoon tea , envy

We had a huge Truck convoy through our small town last night, about 70 lorries, all with lights on & horns blaring, on their way to Peterborough hospital, raising money for the NHS, timed to arrive around the time of the 8pm. clapping.

Take Care Folk

Good morning Mick and everybody. It's blowing a gale on the Angus coast with rain forecast. My very unfavourite weather! Well, Nicola has set out her 'roadmap' and I have to say I like the well thought out way she has done it. I'm not her greatest fan but she obviously learned a thing or two from Boris ?. Now we'll just have to hope that folks will stick to the phases and take thinks slowly. I'm having a sort of back to front day today and have sat down with my coffee break coffee and read all these lovely posts - before breakfast. Urmston your returning lifestyle sounds magical! But so, so sorry for the person whose son committed suicide. The most difficult thing to have to accept - just awful. Doesn't matter how old your children are, you still want your arms around them to protect them. Interesting that so many of us on here were teachers. I too, but only taught for three years before our globetrotting lifestyle ended it. I never went back until I took up instructing tai chi ten years ago. What is it they say? Once a teacher, always a teacher! I do remember those huge classes in days of yore though - I had 47 nine-year-olds at one point! No social distancing then!! Right. I have no idea what I'm going to do with this day I've been blessed with, but my late breakfast and another cup of coffee beckon. And I have my weekly Mindful Chef delivery early afternoon. The delivery man is a lovely friendly fellow and the only actual human contact - distanced of course! - I get, so gladrags on, methinks. Have a lovely day everyone. ???

Good morning from The Freeman Hospital, Newcastle where DH is undergoing a needle biopsy. Very bright but our typical chilly wind here.
Am lurking around as they don’t want me in the Dept, but DH is unsteady on his feet and has forgotten his mobile, so I’ll have to wander back every 5 minutes!

Have brought a bottle of fizz and sea salt candle to drop off at DD1 for their 8th anniversary (salt) on our way home.

Things seem more relaxed for some, but we can’t take any chances. 6 feet apart or 6 feet under! Love to all. X

BladeAnnie Fri 22-May-20 09:49:21

Happy birthday Auntieflo x

Good morning from a sunny and windy Manchester. Hoping to get a line of washing out before the showers arrive. Love to see washing blowing on the line. Simple pleasures. Urmston gambas and cava. Please can I join you - at a safe distance - sounds fab. Cheesed off with all this cooking! Our new baby is expected anytime now. Last night I dreamed it was me having the baby, heaven forbid?. Looking forward to watching Take That tonight on YouTube with a glass of something. I can pretend I'm out at a gig! (((hugs))) for those who need one flowers for those with extra cares and worries.

Justwidowed Fri 22-May-20 09:32:34

Good morning Mick and everyone from a cloudy windy Lancashire.
I'm sure you will miss Dexter Dragonfly ,he was with you for so long.,but at least he's going home fit and healthy.
Am envious of you Urmstongran enjoying a meal out.Thats one of the things I miss the most,am getting fed up of cooking every day.
For the first time I shared a Chinese takeaway with my neighbours,we had been become very close over the last 6 months so are more like family to me now. They do all my shopping and any DIY that's necessary.
We spotted the scrap metal wagon and he was pleased to take all the scrap we had .Neighbours drive is now clear and my garage is virtually empty!
Hope all have as good a day as possible.

Happy Birthday Auntieflo wine
and Mr Brunette

Marydoll Fri 22-May-20 09:29:02

The recipe is quite long, when I became ill and had to retire, I put all my recipes in a book for DD, just in case I popped my clogs!

I'm going to try and make it into a PDF and see if it will post on here. I don't know if it will work.
The easiest way would be to email it, as an attachment, but I understand that we need to respect each other's privacy.

I will put my IT hat on!

EllanVannin Fri 22-May-20 09:26:26

Happy Birthday Auntieflo. x cupcake wine

Puzzler61 Fri 22-May-20 09:16:44

Just popping back to say gilly

And Happy Birthday to you ? Auntieflo ? ? ?

BladeAnnie Fri 22-May-20 09:15:26

Good morning all from a breezy mid-Notts where the sun is just starting to peep out. We had rain overnight which will please all the gardeners amongst ussmile. I'm feeling a bit fuzzy today - something I often get after surviving sepsis two years ago. Almost like I'm walking through treacle!! Stay safe everyone and may Friday be kind to us all x

Lins1066 Fri 22-May-20 09:15:00

Good Morning Mick and all. It rained overnight, but it is now dry and bright.
I'm later on here today as I rang the butcher at 8.30 with an order, he doesn't deliver on a Saturday so wanted to make sure I got in. It was nice to chat to him, I do miss going in and seeing all his lovely meat displays.
Pork and leek sausages with an aubergine bake tonight.

Happy birthday to Auntieflo and Mr Brunette ??
I taught 11-18 Marydoll, we used to call the infants 'kneehuggers' ? Hopefully your DD can get on with her wedding plans before too long. I'm another who would like the chocolate cake recipe please, it is my DH's birthday next weekend.
Dexter is going home, you will miss him dragonfly but you have looked after him so well.
Hope that everyone will stay safe.

Mapleleaf Fri 22-May-20 09:11:02

Good morning everyone,

It's a bright and breezy morning here after some overnight rain, which was much needed as the ground is so hard.

Happy birthday, Auntieflo. I hope you enjoy your visit to the garden centre, your cuppa with your daughter and your meal with your DH. ???? Nice to see you posting again. ?.
Yes, we have to hold onto those glimmers of light, don't we, and keep hoping for continued positive progress. As the saying goes, "baby steps", but at least they are steps in the right direction.

Hope you all have the best day you can. Take care and keep safe. ?

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Happy Birthday Auntyflo x

Dull start here in Norwich, ! Much cooler outside at only 18C, or so weather machine says, but 22 indoors even with windows open all night. No rain in view, so might be watering again tonight!
Replacement double glazed unit for conservatory coming next week! Wayward stone from strimmer shattered it! Big surprise for me as I was sitting in there reading at the time! Double glazing fitter says that it is very common occurrence, mind you , we have had this conservatory for 15 years and never happened before!
I wonder if the same people who took their families to the beach yesterday , crowded east coast resorts and no toilets open, are the same people who are refusing to send their children to school next week because ‘ it’s not safe’ ? Just saying!!
Have a safe day everyone
Stay alert!!

EllanVannin Fri 22-May-20 09:06:28

Good Morning All x
Quite blustery this morning, sunny/showery but it's not cold. It did look as though there's been a heavy shower or two overnight as the ground appears quite sodden after the dryness. I suppose it'll settle down again.

Neighbour rang me yesterday with the sad news that her son had committed suicide. I was so upset for her and tried to find the right words of comfort. How awful to lose a child, even though he was an adult. What a difficult time as he didn't live locally so I don't know what she's going to do. I know that the family are supporting her right now as she's in her 70's.

My visit to the surgery for an INR went well yesterday thank goodness and is getting back to normal after the blip so another in a month's time. I'm sure it would be the least of anyone's worries right now and appears trivial in comparison.

I had a lovely breast of Welsh lamb yesterday, sweet as a nut, with creamed pots and new peas. It went down a treat. I'm doing my best to keep this virus at bay grin
Now it's crumpet time with lashings of Lurpak then fish later.

You'll miss the dog Dragonfly even though you've had your fair share of problems with him. I bet he'll miss you too with the care you've given him.

Sounds a lovely set-up you have in Spain Urmston, no rushing and no queues. Very civilised smile

I'm missing mooching around the shops all of a sudden. It hasn't bothered me up to now. Never mind I'm not on my own. A change of scenery I suppose.

Hoping everyone's well which is the main thing in these odd times. I think we can weather the storm more than most.
Normally a long weekend but it'll just roll into the next day as have the last Bank Holidays. Stay safe and well everyone. xx

Marydoll Fri 22-May-20 08:53:31

Sent you a very long PM, Gilly.
