Good Morning Everyone,
Up early as usual , its dry ,windy and grey at the present moment here in Brackley .
Yesterday , I managed to get some cornflour , from a local convivence store.
Apart from the town centre looking something like a ghost town, except for cars ,which have started to slowly increase in numbers .
Normality still seems scary as to returning to it , I noticed someone yesterday who was returning from somewhere , he looked like death warmed up , he is the type who ignores the rules as laid down ,and thinks others do not ee or notice changes in others .
Take Care
Mick

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a grey South Yorkshire. A broken, painful night for both of us - don’t know what is causing my pain, but DH had a bit of a fall yesterday (the details are too ridiculous to relate but typical of him) and is feeling it now. I am grumpy, he is very grumpy. Roast pork for lunch. Happy Anniversary to NfkD and Mr NfkD??! Bella be kind to yourself today.
Stay safe folks.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Lins1066 Sun 24-May-20 09:08:29

Morning Mick and all from a windy S Welsh coast.
Croissants for breakfast this morning, what a treat.
Yesterday the sea was so rough and there were huge waves, we went for a short walk but I hope it warms up again.
There are bits and bobs that need doing here but I will ignore them for another day I think.
Roast beef and gravy later.
Happy Anniversary Nfk ?
? for Bellasnana
Stay safe everyone.

Good morning from a sunny Silver Coast in Portugal. DH and the dogs are still asleep so breakfast wont be for a while.
flowers Bellasnana for you today as you look back on lovely memories of your dear husband.
Happy anniversary Nflkdumpling and I hope you enjoy your posh takeaway.
Thinking of Gillybob and hoping she has had a better night. If only there was some way we could help her because it all seems so unfair.

Thinking of everyone in pain and hope it lessens and they have a good day. My own pain is lessening at last which I am hoping means that the oral chemo is working.

It must seem strange without Dexter there Dragonfly but hopefully he will settle down back in his home.

Grey here, dozed until 8, have now had tea and toast. Must tidy front garden today a nd prune the lower part of the climbing rose which has been so beautiful, DH saw someone taking a photo of it! I wont be able to get to the top with the lopping shears until the plaster is taken off my wrist. Thinking of Gillybob and Bellasnana. Have a good day Nfk.

Good Morning from a very dull and cold Fife. Better than yesterday though. Changed routine slightly this morning so have had breakfast. I will do my usual household chores today and that also includes cleaning out fridge. Ive been going in and out there for days now and keep saying 'I must clean this fridge out' and so far haven't, on my to do list today though - joy! Sending hugs to all in need of a little pick me up. Try and enjoy your day.

Puzzler61 Sun 24-May-20 08:54:02

Oh Nannatwiglet please send your windowcleaner to my house afterwards. Ours has disappeared since lockdown ?
Hope he’s okay.

Grammaretto Sun 24-May-20 08:53:09

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. A bit less wild today and I'll inspect the damage after brekkie.

I footered yesterday Kalu and achieved very little but slept well apart from disturbing dreams.
We had a 10 screen family zoom quiz last night - family popping up like celebrity squares from as far as New Zealand, North Jutland, York, Scottish Highlands, Edinburgh and us.
Maybe this will be the New Normal? I don't like to think of last times we will ever do something Marydoll flowers
You will go to to the ball! [magic wand]

Hugs to you Bellasnana on this important day and to Nfk and Urmston and anyone celebrating in these strange times.

Nannatwiglet Sun 24-May-20 08:45:27

Well...didn’t stay in bed for long...the doorbell rang.

Our window cleaner had arrived . Had to open the side gate for him...First since March. I guess he needs to earn his crust. At least I shall have clean windows...

Mythbirtthedragon Sun 24-May-20 08:39:49

Good morning from east London, grey and blustery. Big day today; we’re going to Chichester to pick up DS as this is the last day he can stay in his uni accommodation. I’ve been using his bedroom for my zoom choirs and tootling on DD’s old keyboard and recorder and have had to relocate all my stuff this morning. As we won’t be able to go for lunch in the usual place, he’s cooking us a meal which could be interesting as he’s not a recipe follower like me. I’ve made malteaser tiffin as my contribution. Hope you have a good day.

Gingster Sun 24-May-20 08:38:28

Good morning all from a still blustery Suffolk coast. Phew it did blow yesterday! . I sat in the summerhouse reading for a while but the creaking and groaning (summerhouse not me) worried me and little pooch , so we came in. I thought it was going to ‘blow the house down’.

I made scones with 3 ingredients - sR flour. Lemonade and cream. Came out beautifully. I tried the 2 ingredient chocolate cake too. Chocolate and eggs. Lovely!

Poor little plants are all looking sorry for themselves being blown to kingdom come. Maybe they’ll recover ?. We have a coastal garden too and it’s always dicey putting young plants out.

Have a lovely Sunday everyone ?

Oopsadaisy3 Sun 24-May-20 08:35:31

Blustery but sunny here in South Oxfordshire, temp is 12 degrees which is quite nice, I wish the wind would drop though as I don’t enjoy it.
Nothing much to do today, as it’s too windy for me to plant out some more veggie seedlings , so I might get out an aged Singer and try some of the attachments, just to see what they do. I fancy a look at the ruffler.....

Have a good day everyone and stay safe.

Nortsat Sun 24-May-20 08:35:28

Good morning Mick and the GM team.

Bella hope you have a gentle day and enjoy your happy memories. ?
Nfkd have a lovely day and enjoy your takeaway. Congratulations ?

Roast pork for us today and a quiet day for me, as I have had to increase my meds.
Our 7 year old cat brought a dead mouse into the Utility this morning, just as I was making the first cups of coffee. When she heard my partner coming into the kitchen, she scooted quickly into the garden, before he could have stern words with her.

I bought ‘The Familiars’ by Stacey Halls after Gilly and others recommended it ... so I will start that today.

Have a good day all, special good wishes to those who need them and ‘let’s be careful out there’. ?

Nannatwiglet Sun 24-May-20 08:27:15

I had the same problem yesterday EllanVannin...with opening a window to post a message to Gransnet....but the “powers that be” in the service dept were most helpful ....All fine now!

A grey chilly day here in West Yorkshire..not too windy yet.Not sure whether to get up or stay a few moments longer in bed?

Wonder what’s in store for today?

Marydoll Sun 24-May-20 08:25:08

Good morning Mick and all the early risers. As Kalu, says it's not very pleasant here in Glasgow.

I too plan a footering day today. a day of faffing and footering sounds good.

I'm still in bed with painful joints and DH has brought me a cuppa and the newspapers. It's my idea of bliss.
I will get up in time for livestream Mass.

Bellasnana, a bittersweet day for you today. ?

Urmstongran, I'm glad to hear that things are improving for you in Spain. I can't get the gambas picture of the other day, out of my head ?
I suspect I may never get abroad again, travel insurance looks very problematic.
We had planned some coach trips in this country, but all the coach tour companies here have collapsed.
I keep thinking of all the fallout, the knock on effect on business and tourism Those poor people who have lost jobs.
Will we ever recover from this?.

Happy anniversary, Nfk, enjoy your posh meal!.?

I hope Gilly has got some rest.

Have the best day you can. We are getting there, albeit slowly!

I too had to open another window to post! Gremlins in the works!

fatgran57 Sun 24-May-20 08:24:36

Hello to you all, thinking of Gillybob wish we could do something to help her.

Still no posts from MOnica (weeks now)and Gabriella miss them both, do hope they are alright, as I recall they were both 75ish in age so really hope they post soon and let us know they are keeping well.

Gelisajams Sun 24-May-20 08:23:02

Good morning from a cloudy, damp and still windy Morecambe Bay.
I’ve woken up in quite a grumpy mood, I think the current situation is getting to me. Need to give myself a shake, as I know my problems are trivial compared to many and especially the posters on here who have real problems and sadness. For you,?.
Nothing planned for today. Sunday is bike riding day but it’s too windy. Zoom church later then hopefully the weather calms down a bit so we can venture out.
Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Pittcity Sun 24-May-20 08:18:21

Oh, for an edit button....but you both know what I meant.

harrigran Sun 24-May-20 08:17:20

Good morning from a windy but dry NE.
Both hands still extremely painful and am unable to do very much, spent yesterday watching Netflix.
Thinking of you Bellasnana flowers
Hoping gilly had a better night.
Take care everyone.

Pittcity Sun 24-May-20 08:17:17

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Still breezy but much less than yesterday. I will be able to put the washing out.

No plans today except for a roast pork dinner.

We should've been on a family holiday in Norfolk this week.

Wishing Bellasnanna and Mr & Mrs Nfkdumpling happy anniversaries full of lovely memories.

Happy Anniversary Nfk have a lovely day ! ?❤️?

EllanVannin Sun 24-May-20 08:07:50

What a palava ! I opened another " window " to Gransnet to enable me to post as it was telling me I wasn't signed in ? when I was. That's technology for you, unless someone was playing silly beggars in the service providers department.
PC had already frozen first thing---will I ever have a PC which works like everyone else's and doesn't freeze ? This is the 3rd one and it isn't a year old yet sad

Kalu Sun 24-May-20 08:03:26

Ginny Footering means doing bits of this and bits of that therefore, no definite plan. I highly recommend it? Enjoy your day.

Bellasnana it doesn’t seem like 5 years since the sad journey you shared with your DH. I hope the day passes gently for you?

Happy Anniversary NfkDumpling. Whatever anniversary you are celebrating, may it be a happy one. Bon appétit ?

brook2704 Sun 24-May-20 07:56:22

Good morning everyone from a slightly less windy Inverness. It’s a bit cloudy it’s dry, thank goodness the wind seems to have dropped a bit. Just waiting now for the sun to get up ...,

Those bars sound brilliant urmstongran - I could definitely do with a bit of that lifestyle !

Bellasnanna ?

Happy Anniversary Nfk have a lovely day ! ?❤️?

Nothing different planned for me today but I’m looking forward to next week when some of our restrictions are lifted a little bit !
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and thinking of all GN with worries and struggles- especially gilly ?

Take care everyone ?

kittylester Sun 24-May-20 07:55:04

Good morning all from a grey North Leicestershire.

I pootle and faff kalu, I wonder what the difference is? grin

(((Hugs)), bella. I cant beleive it has been 5 years.

Congratulations nfk, enjoy your meal.

Love and strength for gilly.

EllanVannin Sun 24-May-20 07:55:00

Good Morning All x Including Mick who begins the thread.

I too am sick and tired of these winds Cornergran, they're very unsettling and after having tried keeping myself upright yesterday scurrying in and out of local shops it made me quite sleepy after which I found myself nodding off-----don't like that feeling. I trundled off to bed at 10.30 and didn't know another thing until 6am.

I suppose I should be thankful of a good sleep smile This is now the 3rd day of the winds though not as severe as the last couple of days, those sudden gusts take you unawares. Heavy grey skies which spell rain so I'm not even going to attempt to straighten the garden yet with pots on their sides.

What a shame that the gardens look so bedraggled and flowers dashed with tree blossoms now non-existent.

My moan for the day.

A large thick Welsh pork chop today, creamed mashed pots carrots and cauli. Fresh pineapple and ice-cream for afters, so I won't do so badly after that.smile I realised that I didn't have any apple sauce or apples so I'll improvise and squeeze half an orange into the gravy just to add " sweetness " and flavour.

Hope everyone's lives are ticking over alright and you're all staying well and not going so far as to my mind it's still unadvisable to no matter what's said.

Place is beginning to get cluttered again so I'll have to sort that out before it gets worse. It's easy to get slack these days.

Anyway, breakfast calls so stay safe everyone and if nothing else, enjoy the long days . xx

PS comp. has decided it doesn't want to post Grrrrr !!
