Good morning from blustery Leicestershire.

Very quiet here today. Dexter’s handover went well although he seems a little confused. I am sure he will settle down although he won’t get spoilt as much.

Happy Anniversary Nfkd.

Hoping for a better day for gilly and others who are suffering especially Mary.

Good morning Mick and all GNs. A cloudy windy day here in Lancashire, Friday and Saturday the winds were really strong but they are supposed to subside a bit today.
Am intending tackling the storeroom today. There are two empty(virtually) household bins which are crying out to be filled.More baking to bribe the binmen. Our regular alternate weeks haven't changed.
I think there is a TV programme this week praising the services (apart from the NHS)who have helped during these difficult times.
Hope everyone has a good day and Gilly has a peaceful bank holiday.

Good morning Mick and everyone from Cheshire. It's still windy, but not as fierce. After two windy but bright days, it's a grey start this morning.

Faffing yes. Footering I don't know, but I like the sound of that Kalu, especially together. So I'll be joining you faffing and footering today.

I have a temperamental printer too Beechnut and I never know whether it will co-operate or not. I agree, best left till you're in the mood to sort that out.

Walking in the woods wasn't a good idea this past two days, but perhaps I'll go today. I'm enjoying Michelle Obama's 'Becoming' but I'm not finding much on TV or Netflix. I do have a low tolerance level for nonsense or violence and gore.

I do have several calls from my DD each day and my sisters and friends call most days too. My neighbours are amazing, so I count my blessings.

You know how much I envy you Urmston as I should have been in Andalusia right now!

Take care everyone. Virtual hug for Gilly who has endured so much. Special thoughts for you Bellasnana and flowers for anyone feeling poorly or just plain fed up.

Puzzler61 Sun 24-May-20 07:37:16

Good morning Mick & All
and especially Bellasnana
whose day will be full of memories. B try to find the very best ones and remember how good it felt at those times. Sending you fond wishes and please know you’re deserving of a little bit of sympathy today ?

NfkDumpling Sun 24-May-20 07:34:16

Sorry Bella, I hope I didn’t just rub salt into the wound. flowers

Pantglas2 Sun 24-May-20 07:33:46

Morning all from a dull but less blowy (is that a proper word) north Wales!

You’ve set me off Urmstongran.....you with your talk of bars opening up and Senor Sanchez saying I can come visit in July! I had a sneaky peep at flights last night and they’re quite reasonable so will wait and see what our FM here in Wales has to say on Thursday about lifting restrictions before booking!

Roast beef and all the trimmings later this evening so that’s enough work for today! Stay safe folks x

NfkDumpling Sun 24-May-20 07:33:02

Morning All

Grey and breezy here in the north of Norfolk.

Congratulations on finding cornflour Mick. The Tesco computer refused to acknowledge such a thing existed when I asked it for some a week or two back. DS found some in Asda.

Our anniversary today. We’re hoping to order a posh take away from our local pub.

Bellasnana Sun 24-May-20 07:25:38

Good morning from sunny Malta.

It will be a quiet day for me remembering my darling husband who died in my arms five years ago today. It’s just another day without him, but these anniversaries tend to rub it in how long it has been.

I’m not looking for sympathy, I was blessed to be loved by such a special man and he has left me with a lovely family.

Thinking of all who are going through a tough time, especially gilly. I do hope things will get sorted out somehow.

Have the best day you can and stay safe.?

Urmstongran Sun 24-May-20 07:12:58

Sun’s up! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s another beautiful one ?
I can hear the wood pigeons, smell the pine trees and the Mediterranean looks as still as a mill pond and cobalt blue.

I slept poorly last night. An apartment across the way is occupied again - Oscar has obviously arrived for his summer residence and boy does he like his music! He is a DJ, has a small club down near the marina (in normal times) is Spanish and loves Motown! He has an open balcony. At least all was quiet this side of midnight - rules are very strict here in Spain about noise levels.

Chicken curry and rice for the 3 of us today and my neighbour will be receiving her usual G&T an hour before I dish up.

She’s not left the landing since 14 March except to occasionally go down about once a week to her postbox. She won’t use the lift, nor touch the bannister going down the steps. I did try gently to encourage her to go for a tiny walk, just to the corner and back whilst she builds up her confidence. I’ve pointed out the more elderly neighbours doing so at 10am but she seems to think at her age (84y) if she goes out the virus is easily transmitted ‘what if a dog walker comes to close or a jogger brushes past me from behind?’. Himself has said I need to back off - she’ll go out when she’s ready. Fair enough.

This evening we are going down to El Corner Bar. It’s next door to Juan &Maria’s bar and reopened yesterday. Pedro is Spanish and his wife Nelly is Argentinian. We will go in around 8pm and sit on their terrace to share a bottle of Rioja. We are so lucky to have 3 great bars just outside the block - not 20 paces away.

The other bar is across the road up on a terrace, set at the end of a small row of shops and a barbers. Himself got his haircut there on Thursday. Sebastian who owns that bar is also from Argentina. He does solomio with chimichuri sauce served on slates. We intend to go next weekend. We will support our 3 bars as much as we can this summer (someone’s gotta do it!).
?

Hope Sunday is kind to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Good Morning from Severnside where the sun is shining.

My washing line broke in the wind yesterday and I had to retrieve my sheets and pillowcases from the boundary bushes ? Today I will mend the line and potter.

No idea what I’ve done to the printer after the paper jam but it’s not working. I shall have to get the back off etc. That’s for another day though.

I did some photo uploading and sorting them into years yesterday afternoon with a glass of wine.

Have the best day you can everyone and stay safe ?

Kalu Sun 24-May-20 06:55:04

Good morning Mick and everyone. Another grey, wet and windy start in Glasgow.

Lots of messaging and FaceTime with DDs and GDs especially DD2 in Australia who is now allowed to visit their holiday home. It was so good to have a ‘get together’ thanks to social media.

I haven’t given a thought to what I may be doing today so it may well be a faffing and footering day?

Have the best day you can everyone.

cornergran Sun 24-May-20 06:29:02

Morning Mick, morning All from a windy and cloudy corner of Somerset. Tired of the wind now, could hardly stand up in it yesterday, the poor plants are battered. A peril of coastal living. You’re right to be careful mick, after last weeks invasion I wish our area resembled a ghost town. I’m a grumpy soul today after a disturbed night, fibro flare up. I’m thinking of gilly and hoping she managed some sleep. No real plans for today, too windy for an enjoyable walk so a quiet day ahead, maybe sort some photos ready for a photo book the next time I see a good offer. That’s fine, it’s Sunday smile. Be gentle with yourselves everyone, stay safe if you can.

Good Morning Everyone,
Up early as usual , its dry ,windy and grey at the present moment here in Brackley .
Yesterday , I managed to get some cornflour , from a local convivence store.
Apart from the town centre looking something like a ghost town, except for cars ,which have started to slowly increase in numbers .
Normality still seems scary as to returning to it , I noticed someone yesterday who was returning from somewhere , he looked like death warmed up , he is the type who ignores the rules as laid down ,and thinks others do not ee or notice changes in others .
Take Care
Mick
