Kicking off in Word again! Not risking “the dreaded post destroyer”!
Talking “post”! Postman today left a card to say a parcel couldn’t be delivered, but awaits collection at the Mail Centre, several km away. No matter that I was indoors as ever! Nothing I’ve ordered, so it’s more likely a wad of bumf from a retirement village, or worse still something for a nearby street address with which we are often confused!
Same pleasant weather pattern again, 5C up to 17C, now cooling off rapidly under clear sky, but Winter closing in, 1st June! Then 14C every day next week!
One advantage of composing message in Word; can go off to check something, in Google say, and come back confident that message has not disappeared
BlueSky Thank you for the “living” bit! Actually I’m only 93 proof, but Doc says “we” will make it to 100 (proof?) I’m watching him, what with all this talk of vaccines and ‘flu shots , which I’ve always declined, he might start playing around with embalming fluid!
Yes, it has to be Red. “Rose” seems more like cordial and not sure if it has to be served at room temp. Actually I have a glass of Cab-Sav (half-empty!) in front of me right now and taking great care not to knock it over as happened before. Keyboard was a write off!
Envy your Med weather! No doubt your white wine is chilled and recharged from time to time (in moderation of course). Mustn’t allow it to warm up!
Aldom That must be a rotten feeling to miss the funeral service. I guess the streaming in 3 to 4 working days must be a professional service. Do they also receive a DVD ?
Why “the last clap” for the NHS? Surely they deserve more, at least until the stats are under control, and why and when do you wear those masks. It’s a personal choice here, although professional service providers such as home carers and others in regular contact with the public usually wear them. But I hear from nurses they are very uncomfortable after 2 hours.
Another trip down Memory Lane; English TV documentary on how Great Britain was made great; something like that! Mainly about engineering projects and about Blackpool, the piers, the Tower with its ballrooms and of course the trams and illuminations.
Before the war and living in M/c we toddled off to Blackpool for Dad’s annual weeks holiday along with half of M/c; same lodgings same landlady every year! Still got photos of us 3 kids sitting on donkeys on the beach with ice-cream cornets!
Doco. actually showed how Blackpool rock is made with the name right through it! Fascinating!
Didn’t quite bring back tears. It was magic to a child then, but the last time I was there it all looked very tatty, especially around the Tower entrance. I don’t think it pays to go back!
Now we’re into Sat’Day, but no sports yet! Dear Oh Dear!
Good Health
