I am so pleased this morning to wake up to wet weather. The sun has been great but I missed the rain. It's good for the garden and mine looks greener already but I also just love the rain. Is that weird?

We got about 6 drops. Please send us some from the north.
The coolth is very welcome but I want to walk over the Common with the dog in pouring summer rain.

Not much rain fallen in South Wales, we could do with 24 hours of steady rain, then it can buzz off for a few days.

No rain today in the South East. My lawn, only laid last year, looks like a cement car park!

Yes it was a bit scary Callistemon totally unexpected, by the time we got home the sun was shining. Weird weather lately.

I'm also in the NW, and we had rain during the night and early morning.

Great for the garden and veg patch, not too great while walking the dog, but we soon dried off.

More rain definitely needed.

Here in N West Lancashire it seemed to have rained gently most of the night as I kep hearing it.

Much welcomed for my dads allotment so at 84 he doesnt have to keep carting water bottles about, we have arranged some plastic corrigated sheeting on a slope so it runs into his big water butts.

They all had about 2 inch of water in this morn so fair bit of rain.

It's damp, grey and chilly here, in fact, it's so cool that I've got a jumper on, closed all the doors and windows and put the heating on for the first time in weeks. I've finally got around to doing some housework today without feeling worn out and exhausted before I've even started. Much prefer this weather.

Enough rain to put me off the necessary weeding but not enough to really reach the roots, so I fear the hose will have to come out if it doesn’t rain some more soon. Smell lovely though.

Grannynannywanny Wed 03-Jun-20 17:33:14

No I’m not happy to see the rain as I have a leaky roof. I will have to clamber into the loft to see if the buckets need emptied if we have heavy rain ?

No rain here in Oxfordshire. I was hoping for a day when I didn't need to water my plants. It is GS1's 21st birthday today, so at least he might manage to be visited in the garden.

Yes, I’m pleased it’s rained today. I do like a sunny day but it had gone on a bit too long for me. I didn’t even venture out yesterday as my hayfevered eyes were still sore from a couple of hours in the garden the day before. I had a lovely four mile walk in light drizzle this afternoon. Hardly anyone about and everything smelt so fresh. Bliss!

sodapop, goodness, that was frightening!

Callistemon Wed 03-Jun-20 16:42:57

It's just started to get rather windy here, coming from the NE.
Are you sending us more rain?

sodapop Wed 03-Jun-20 15:57:08

We have just had to pull off the road and shelter, hailstones the size of maltesers in danger of damaging the windscreen. Roads are becoming flooded in places.

Don't mind the rain but feel for those who have arranged to see family in garden or meet in park ..

Grannybags Wed 03-Jun-20 15:52:00

I got very excited here (Bristol area) ten minutes ago when it started to rain but it's stopped already.

Oh well, back to the watering can....

Marmight Wed 03-Jun-20 15:47:59

Anno oops ?

SueDonim Wed 03-Jun-20 15:44:14

Not enough rain here to even wet your whistle, as my grandad would have said. It’s dull and cool, instead.

suziewoozie Wed 03-Jun-20 15:43:34

I’d booked to go to a NT place so, no, not pleased

annodomini Wed 03-Jun-20 15:41:19

When I looked out of the window this morning I was quite pleased to see that it was raining...until I looked at my car and noticed that I had forgotten to close the sun roof blush

Whitewavemark2 Wed 03-Jun-20 15:13:41

Still nothing here

South coast

Marmight Wed 03-Jun-20 15:11:43

Its been raining lightly all morning here in North Wiltshire. Now just a bit gloomy The garden’s had a bath so that’s enough for me; I’m quite happy for the sun to come out again but it looks unlikely for a while

bluebirdwsm Wed 03-Jun-20 14:42:41

Its raining steadily here now {SW] and I am very pleased as the garden has started to suffer and struggle despite my watering efforts.
Roses have bloomed suddenly and the courgettes are growing fast, the air feels fresh and I like it cooler.
The hot weather was lovely but it very much affects my sleep and this is a nice break. Will miss my daily walk though.

ladymuck Wed 03-Jun-20 14:38:13

Very pleased to see the rain. I grow things in pots so I've been out with a watering can every evening. Plus the air feels so much fresher.

craftyone Wed 03-Jun-20 14:35:20

ahh but people are using sprinklers on grass. What a waste of purified water
