The best thing for me was when DGS ( teenager) turned up at the door bearing a large bag of flour, he knew I hadn’t been able to get any via delivered shopping.?
The other thing was when DD called round on Monday and we sat in the garden with iced drinks and chatted for an hour.

A doctor, FINALLY, after months of asking, gave me some decent pain relief tablets that actually works meaning decent sleep.

Congratulations to those with new grandchildren flowers

I was able to see my eldest GS on his 21 st birthday, albeit at a distance.

First visit to a garden centre.

What a lovely positive posting. Best things this week. A lovely walk by the river. Eating a Magnum ice cream. Speaking to my DD and DGC on Sunday. Finishing a really good book and discovering the Great British Sewing Bee. Enjoying good health and a good night's sleep

Like others - seeing DD1 and 2 ‘in the flesh’ in garden for champagne breakfast. DH managed to sit outside for half an hour - almost normal!
vampirequeen - how did you lose so much weight? I could do with losing 40lbs, but very little incentive at the moment!

Best thing to happen? I've stayed in isolation, been sensible, not bent or broken any rules, taken no risks - and I'm alive and well! It's a pandemic, not a garden party!

@clareken Hope all goes well for you DH

Grandmaof2 Fri 05-Jun-20 09:07:33

@PammyHoops congratulations x

Myself, DD and 5 month old DGD went to visit my Mum for a few hours in her Garden. Baby was just born when we last saw her. It made her day to see her other than on skype. Hopefully it wont be too long before we can get the 4 generation photo with the eldest holding the youngest

My DH has gone in for surgery this morning. That might not seem like a good thing, but he has been in so much pain, it is a relief to finally get it done.

Another beautiful grand daughter born yesterday.
Best news of the week.

inishowen Fri 05-Jun-20 09:02:30

I saw all my grandchildren this week at last! Then yesterday my beloved went out for the day. I so enjoyed a day to myself after the last few months together. I caught up on the TV programmes I'd recorded and did some knitting. I'm someone who needs time alone.

Sitting in my daughter's garden, social distancing so I could see granddaughter celebrate her 15th birthday.

Spending a lovely afternoon in the sunshine social distancing with my daughter and grandkids.. Bliss!!

I have elected to drive to the local fish and chip shop tomorrow evening for myself and friends and neighbours two doors away. We will eat the food in our respective houses- I am really looking forward to that- the closest to dining out.

Watching my 3 year old granddaughter running in and out of the garden sprinkler in the nuddy screaming with excitement and seeing my new grandson born 19th March. I've missed out on cuddles with our little lockdown baby. As I'm sure many of us have. But it was lovely to see them.

Coolgran65 Thu 04-Jun-20 22:32:26

We were invited to a socially distanced picnic in ds1 garden. Bring our own food and drinks. with our 2 dgc. Also ds2 arrived. The weather was glorious.
My heart was full.

Meeting family in the garden this week and having our garden waste collected!

MerylStreep Thu 04-Jun-20 15:54:15

My OH built our next door neighbour a bar in her garden. Last night several of us christened it.????

vampirequeen Thu 04-Jun-20 15:45:49

Weight loss now at 61 lbs.

Finally managed to cycle all the way up the 'impossible' hill without stopping or dying at the top.

My new bike arrived today. It's much lighter than my old bike and has better gearing.

2 lovely things this week:

My lovely neighbours treated themselves to a new garden swing seat last weekend and they gave me their old one, complete with canopy, seat cushions and covers.

My oldest and closest friend came and sat in my garden for a long chat and catch up on a lovely sunny evening this week.

Harris27 Thu 04-Jun-20 15:30:50

After going out for a drive to a local beauty spot and eating fish and chips on my husbands birthday on Tuesday.
