Good Morning Everyone,
Its clear blue sky with cloud at the moment here in Brackley this morning.
Usual day , shop queing seems to be cooling down in respect of certain shops.
I popped to Boots yesterday to pick up prescriptions and walked straight in , stood on the respective mark usual details asked for , picked them up walked out , told next person I had been only customer.
Also had confirmation of my 2nd show trip refund .
Will be interesting as of June 15th with face masks on public transport with possible fines for those without them on , mind you that is when all non essential shops reopen .
Take Care ,and be Safe
Mick

A very late good morning from a day of mixed weather in Newcastle. One minute its sunny the next its pouring with rain. I went to Asda earlier and there wasn't a single person queuing. I think everyone has now got this shopping malarkey sorted. I'm actually quite enjoying supermarket shopping!
My challenge for today is to source interesting presents online for my sisters 70th birthday. She is almost impossible to buy for and there really is nothing that she wants or needs. I'm getting a few ideas together and I'm enjoying the challenge.

urmston .... 1) I so envy you being in Malaga. I absolutely love the place and we were there this time last year. Lucky you.
2) A Little Life. Oh yes, one of my favourite books too.

flowersfor anyone feeling a bit down today.

Sorry Maths class! blush My head is mince today!!!!!

Marydoll Fri 05-Jun-20 12:32:55

Gramamretto, it was a text message I got from the Scottish Office shielding number.

They must have read my survey, in the space of an hour, I had a call from my RA consultant and then my GP!

Anyway, as an interim measure, I'm to take my lung rescue steroids for my RA until they come up with a cunning plan to get me into hospital.

I haven't even managed to get the cupboard door open, let alone tidy it and DH is now back, happy as Larry. grin

Good morning all from Glasgow where we now have a sunny windy day.

A skype visit with GD2 and SiL in Australia this morning. They are in Queensland where lockdown easing is so much quicker than here.

Hope you are feeling a bit better today BlueSapphire and you feel like joining us soon.

Have the best day you can everyone.

I know how you feel Purplepixie ! I feel a bit withdrawn sad

Purplepixie Fri 05-Jun-20 11:41:51

I think after this lock down the mental health bill will be massive as my mood have certainly changed from the person i used to be.

Purplepixie Fri 05-Jun-20 11:41:08

Good morning from a very damp and grey East Midlands.

I’ve already made a cottage cheese quiche and date cake for tea today. Not feeling like doing much else. DH has seen a car that he wants to go and look at over at Birmingham which I dont fancy one bit. If he gets it then it will be me doing all the driving about to get him there and back on my own. I used to thrive on this sort of stuff and now i seem to have lost my mojo entirely.

Stay safe and have a great day. Friday already and still the lockdown goes on. Fed up. X

Good morning from a cloudy, breezy Colchester. A bit of drizzle but more proper rain is needed.
It's DS birthday today but he is working a late shift and so no celebration today. Tomorrow's bbq was cancelled and it looks as though our replacement visit to DDs garden will be kyboshed by the weather.
I've been to Lidl and now need an indoor occupation for the next few days.

Grammaretto Fri 05-Jun-20 11:18:49

Good morning from the Scottish Borders where it is fairly warm and very sunny (sorry Glasgow!)
It has rained a lot and the plants stinging nettles are growing huge .
Such excitement this morning . The courier texted me to ask for directions to deliver my parcel . This is after 12 emails and 2 complaints from me. They haven't actually delivered it yet but it's a start!

DD's dog died so there is sadness in their household and here too because she was a lovely dog with a beautiful nature.

Nothing to us from the Scottish Gov Mardoll but MrG may not have opened his emails. We are making our own decisions now and being very careful. Still staying home.

Hope you all have the best day you can.

Thank you for the dried fruit cure, Gingster, I will try it.

You do really need to read the Mantel trilogy in order or you will miss a lot. Would keep you busy for at least a couple of months!

Good morning from the north. It is so cold and wet here today I have put the heating back on. Plan to start a new sewing project as fabric has arrived so feeling motivated. May go out for a walk in wellies and full winter gear as I sleep much better. I started sorting out some photos. Thoroughly enjoyed all the memories and put them all back where they were. Wishing all a good day especially now that garden visiting is cheering folks up.

Good ( Mid ) Morning Everyone, The rain has finally arrived in south Norwich and the blackbird is singing away? . Enjoyed a drive to the coast yesterday. The North sea looked very grey and angry but later turned to blue matching the sky ! Have a good day and keep safe .

We’ll be waiting mancgirl - hope all goes well ?

mancgirl Fri 05-Jun-20 10:18:28

Good morning from overcast Manchester. Just a quick one. On nan duties today. Fingers crossed for a safe arrival! Report tomorrow smile

Nannytopsy Fri 05-Jun-20 10:16:00

Good morning Mick and all his followers. I think you may be out and about a bit more before too long Mick? Are you tempted to a bus ride?
We have good, steady rain here in Suffolk this morning and I swear the plants are growing already - particularly the bindweed! I shall be interested to see how much water collects in the water butt - it collects from the shed roof. We set it up during the first week of lockdown, which was probably the cause of this prolonged good weather!
The trouble with coming to the thread this late, is that I can’t remember all the posts to comment on! Take it easy under the stairs Marydoll!

Urmstongran Fri 05-Jun-20 10:11:28

I have read ‘Birdcage Walk’ too. Another good read! I know what you mean Greyduster about feeling a bit ‘lost’ when you finish a good book.

I felt I’d lost some dear friends who I really cared about when I finished ‘A Little Life’ a 2015 novel by American novelist Hanya Yanagihara. The novel was written over the course of eighteen months. Despite the length and difficult subject matter it became a bestseller. One of my top 10 books!

Third attempt at posting this morning .......iPad playing up .

Good morning from the NE coast where we have had rain on and off for the past few days . It’s dry at the moment but the black clouds suggest the rain won’t be long .

Spent most of yesterday at “that place” doing wages, catching up, clearing out etc. Had a conference call with a customer who we were hoping might be about to place an order . They were asking the right questions but no formal order as yet. I think industry is almost on hold waiting to see what happens next. Worrying times .

I was hoping to see a post from Mancgirl . Have I missed something ? Surely her new grandchild must’ve arrived by now ?

Will have to go back and catch up .

Have as good a Friday as possible everyone .
Love

Good Morning Everyone x.
Some heavy showers intermittently between the watery sun, so not a nice day at all. I don't mind a drop of rain but it doesn't know when to stop here once it starts. Very soggy underfoot.

I was hoping to go to D's today to see the twins on their Birthdays, but because of the weather not being suitable for garden sitting, it's not wise to be indoors as there'd be no distancing so it'll be a phone greeting. I've got their cards and money here too. Can't be helped for the time being.

I've missed my crumpets so far this week and have been having Marmite on toast but find I'm hungry again not long after so the other morning I did a poached egg between two slices of Marmite toast----very tasty. grin

That lovely view Urmston. I wouldn't mind waking up to that every morning even if I didn't go anywhere smile

Just a few local errands to do, butcher and greengrocer, to keep me going for a few days----a stew I think considering the weather's bad for the next couple of days, rain and winds.

I send you strength to cope Georgesgran, as I've done that in the past and know the feeling x flowers

Hoping everyone gets through another day unscathed. I've got lazier than ever with my sorting/shredding programme pretty well tailed off.

Stay safe and well everyone xx

Bit of a sad day, Today should be my grandsons wedding day, all the previous years planning now postponed.
till next year ??

gillgran Fri 05-Jun-20 09:30:48

Good Morning to you all, from Cambs., After a cloudy start, it's sunny now, we had our first drop of rain late last night, & again earlier this morning. DH says it's enough to settle the dust, but not nearly enough for the garden.!! hmm.

[Mick] mentioned face coverings on public transport, are many people wearing them in shops? (I'm not getting to shops, atm).

Take Care Folks.

BladeAnnie Fri 05-Jun-20 09:28:43

Good morning all from mid-Notts - very changeable weather-wise, one minute as dark as night and the next minute bright sunshine. A day of bitting and bobbing today - no plans as such. Stay safe everyone and may Friday be kind to us all x

Auntieflo Fri 05-Jun-20 09:27:57

Good morning*Mick, Annie, and all.
There is a bit of sun this morning, but a chilly breeze, and the garden feels fresher after a drop of rain.
We decided to try shopping in Tesco yesterday afternoon, and there were NO queues, no waiting and straight in.
Wonderful, I had been dreading the sight of a snaking queue around the car park. We haven't been to Tesco for weeks.
But once inside, something started to irritate my throat, and I just had to cough. I did have a mask on. I spoke to one of the assistants, and he said they were cleaning the air con filters, so maybe it was that. Once we were back in the car and on the way home, all the irritation stopped.
A couple of days ago, I made a bean bag support for my Ipad, and it has been so useful. Very easy to do, and using up a bit of material from my stash.
Today I am tempted to go to Lidl and see what plants are on offer, rather than mooch about indoors, looking for something to do.
Good luck with the culling in your glory hole Marydoll.
Have a good day one and all.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 05-Jun-20 09:20:57

Good morning Mick and all x

It is very grey, windy and the rain clouds seem to be gathering here in S E Essex.

We have a fish delivery today, straight from the boat curtesy of an AC (Sar53 if you are interested and like fish PM me and I will give you the details). GrandpaGravy has ordered some organic meat which should have arrived yesterday but was delayed until today.

Had arranged to meet up with some of my gym friends in one of their gardens this morning but not sure if it will go ahead in this weather?

Keep safe and well folks and have a fabulous Friday ?

Marydoll Fri 05-Jun-20 09:19:21

Squiffy ?

Bathsheba for the riddle. ?

QuaintIrene Fri 05-Jun-20 09:16:53

Good morning everyone from a dull, chilly West Yorkshire.
Big cat is well, enjoying her treats and naps.
I am steadily getting better after a few set backs. I did think that things were improving a bit quick, but I can only keep on getting on with things.
I ordered my shopping yesterday and here’s hoping my bottle of wine is delivered for my birthday. Can’t face the supermarket right now.
Anyway. Enough.
Have the best, safest day you can, folks and my thoughts go to those who are ill or troubled ?
