Has anybody tried the above , which is available in tins on some supermarket shelves .
Whilst staying at a Warmers at Studley castle early last year , noticed it was available on the café menu .
Take Care ,
Mick

I used to like Camp coffee when I was a student. It didn't taste like coffee as I know it but had a flavour all its own. Tea ladies used to bring it round on trolleys and dispense it from huge urns. Must have been left over from the war.

Mmmmm….I love iced coffee, but have never tried making it myself. I don't like the syrups, too sweet for me'

When I was a teenage I liked camp coffee, my Dad had it. Now I drink black coffee with no sugar, but I may try the camp, with a bit of ice cream on top, and ice cubes.

I absolutely love iced coffee, I first had it about 25 years ago in Greece.

Kenco make a good instant one in several different flavours (vanilla, caramel, coconut are the ones I can think of). Aldi have them on sale at the moment.

I blend with crushed ice and add a squirt of cream on top - delicious.

(Sorry Maw, couldn't resist!)

MawB were do you get Camp coffee? I tried to get some just to make iced coffee, but couldn't find it.

Nespresso made coffee with evaporated milk using the frother/chiller.

Wot Jane says ?

Jane10 Tue 09-Jun-20 16:19:41

I just don't get it. I don't understand iced tea either. They both sound awful. Each to his own though.

Oooh!! a favourite summer treat for me. Make up a cafetiere and place in fridge. When cold fill a glass two thirds full, add some special syrup and top up with squirty cream. Gorgeous. My adult children tell me it is an adult version of a milk shake.

It takes me back to Nairobi, where I used to have iced coffee in the hottest weather. Over 50 years ago, before I became intolerant of caffeine. I still love the aroma of freshly prepared coffee.

timetogo2016 Tue 09-Jun-20 09:50:49

I feel ill just thinking about iced coffee, but were all different.

BlueSky Tue 09-Jun-20 09:48:11

Now you are talking Grannynanny! grin

Grannynannywanny Tue 09-Jun-20 09:32:05

Reminds me of scrummy ones in a Lanzarote hotel years ago which were a take on an Irish coffee. Chilled coffee, laced with whiskey and topped with ice cream.

I’ve never thought to recreate it at home but I just might this evening

MawB Tue 09-Jun-20 09:29:15

If you are making your own as I do, Camp Coffee essence (remember it?) is brilliant and much easier than making a small quantity of strong espresso to add to your cold milk.

BlueSky Tue 09-Jun-20 09:28:58

Yes iced tea too Pittcity!

Pittcity Tue 09-Jun-20 09:25:41

Ooh yes. I loved the Aussie versions with ice cream, whipped cream et Al, but home made is good. Can't beat a coffee frapuccino on a hot day.
I am also a fan of iced tea.

EllanVannin Tue 09-Jun-20 09:19:31

Reminds me of Oz, yes, they do the best ones. Scrummy.

BlueSky Tue 09-Jun-20 09:11:44

As Kate said! Reminds me of holidays (holidays ?)

Granny23 Tue 09-Jun-20 09:09:17

Funnily enough my food parcel (delivered to the "frail or vulnerable elderly" each week by the Village's Community Action Group) contained a can of Iced Coffee! I have yet to try it. I suspect it is not selling well in the Supermarkets. We do get the oddest things in our parcels, usually short dated, but always 6 free range eggs from a local farm and fresh milk from a local dairy,

Smileless2012 Tue 09-Jun-20 09:00:36

For an added treat, add vanilla ice cream.
