I am so very sorry. My computer has died on me. Am having to use MacS's and am in a bit of a pickle. Just wanted to open this new kitchen and try to catch up later.

Good morning everyone.Have missed a couple of days and have come back to pages of posts?

I am off to the hairdressers this evening??I am still very anxious and am not comfortable about going into shops but my lovely hairdresser friend is doing my hair at the end of the day so will just be the two of us in the salon both suitably masked.

We had a lovely few days with Miss Matilda. The house seems very quiet/tidy without her.

Cherry,I hope you are continuing to rest and recover and feeling more like your old self?

Panache,I hope you and Mr P are doing ok?

The sun is out here with a breeze. I had a lie-in until 8.30 am I am re-training Tara and she appears to be amenable.

I am fortunate not having a pub near me for at least 1/2 mile so I have no idea if there were problems. There is nowhere to sit outside so good luck to them. It would hopefully boost the takings of the fish and chip shop and also McDonald's, both being yards away.

Were!!

Nannytopsy Sat 04-Jul-20 23:38:43

Quite a loud orange Galen. We’re you a redhead? ?

Doodle Sat 04-Jul-20 21:04:03

Nice pic galen I always feel light headed after a hair cut ?

Pittcity Sat 04-Jul-20 20:55:07

I'm happy for you to join me Puzzler.
Must refrain from partaking though as we want our clients to keep their ears!

I am using those wide headbands that can be pulled down to double as a mask to keep my hair off my face Nannytopsy.

Galen Sat 04-Jul-20 18:08:24

Ooh! I’m a campsis! What Color?

Nannytopsy Sat 04-Jul-20 17:15:03

I need Galen’s hairdresser! I now use DGD’s hair clips to keep it out of my eyes. It’s a hair style for a five year old!
I planted a large Campsis this week called Madame Galen - thought of you!
Enjoy the rest Of the day everyone, if you are not down the local pub. grin

soop Sat 04-Jul-20 16:16:54

Galen You have beautiful hair. And, may I add, a beautiful smile.

Grandmafrench Why resist the urge to eat ice cream? It doesn't make sense. We have double dark choc Magnums waiting to be demolished with relish in about three hours time. Such will power amazes me.

The reconditioned computer remains in the hands of the local expert. He says that he'll phone MacSporran sometime this afternoon and arrange for him to collect it. When it does come back to my office MacS will have to faff with it in order to get it installed. Therefore, deep breath, I may be able to use it when I log on tomorrow to spend time with you lot.

He's such a good man. He has replaced our doorbell and has had me laughing as he tested the many ring tunes, or whatever they're called. We settled on something upbeat. As you do.

It's been a fun afternoon for me. I've been reliving Andy M's wonderful tennis achievements and, isn't it daft, I've been screaming my well meaning instructions, even though I know the final result of each match because I was glued to television during the original triumphs.

The day began on a damp note. It has improved greatly and the sunshine is glinting on the rippling waves. There could be another stunning sunset later this evening. Not that I need to add to the huge collection of images that I have taken over the seventeen years I've been addicted to photographing skies. It's just impossible for me not to grab the camera. Harmless stuff.

It's time to take my leave. Having made such a laidback start to the day, I'm planning to make amends. Where's a decent duster when one is required? I do know the answer but my memory is playing silly b's. wink

Please continue to take good care of yourselves. No bar hopping or scrummages in crowded places. I prefer to err on the side of caution. Some might call me boring. I think otherwise.

Enjoy your evening in whatever way pleases you. I shall join you all again, computer willing, at some time during tomorrow.

smile moon

Puzzler61 Sat 04-Jul-20 15:44:35

Galen you and your new hair look very pretty.

Puzzler61 Sat 04-Jul-20 15:43:20

Please may I join in with your enterprising idea Pittcity ?

I have picked up a few skills in lockdown doing DH’s hair and mine. DH has new clippers, comb and hair scissors. Even a salon gown for the complete experience.

Can we go 50-50 on our takings ? ?

Pittcity Sat 04-Jul-20 15:21:38

While out earlier we saw queues outside barbers and packed beer gardens.
An idea struck me to take my clippers to the pubs and cut hair there.... Could make my fortune wink

Grandmafrench Sat 04-Jul-20 14:31:00

Aah! See what you mean, Galen. They've removed your ear muffs! Looks lovely ..... and so does the smile.

Grandmafrench Sat 04-Jul-20 14:28:43

Think you are being hypercritical, Galen. I had to check, sans specs, that you hadn't in fact just had it cut! Seriously, what lovely silver hair. But only you know how you like it, so I guess you'll be pleased and relieved to be, well, relieved of some of it! It's been a very long time for most of us. Someone on the Good Morning thread today said that she's not impressed that her Home Hairdresser (!) has increased her prices by the arbitrary sum of 30%. 30% per cent, well, that would be me instantly looking for a new hairdresser. I don't feel that people should attempt to benefit from hard times - by making times harder for everyone else.

Thank the Lord for MacS, dear soop lady. Nothing like a wild goose chase, wasted time and journeys, when you have things to sort out fairly urgently. He must be very patient. I have one of those. For me, it would get a quick once over and then on failing to work properly, into the great waste repository, forever. Sorry about the mess, Doodle. Think you need to complain to the management and also check. your terms of employment. I suspect good natures are being taken advantage of in Argy Land. (Are you listening, lemon?)

Life is dawdling along here. I'm reading and drinking lots of water and not getting burnt and feeling the hot wind on my skin and yes, it is a very hot day and I seem to be getting closer and closer to some salted caramel ice cream which is almost shouting to me from the freezer. Ah well, can't ignore a call for help. grin

A jigsaw-free zone, Corner. There are worse things, I should imagine, like your being unable to sleep from pain. Hope so much that you get a better night tonight. But if you're awake at all, you'll be able to plan just how to get through a whole week without any jigsaws ........ bet that's going to need a real distraction.

Have to be careful on here because "people" listen outside Kitchen doors, but must say I was so thrilled to read posts from Cheery Cherry again. She does sound really perky and more like her old can-do self. I have an idea/theory that I may have solved her problem. Something which clever Doctors have possibly overlooked all these years - she has two brains. I'm convinced that one brain is sharp and quick and funny and clever. Hurrah!! The other is a damn nuisance, constantly messing around and trying to sabotage her happy life and waste her precious hours doing battle with it. Boo!! No wonder she gets so tired from sitting underneath a war zone !!

So back to Michelle Obama's book, emails and etc., from my comfortable garden seat. Keep smiling, everyone. Hugs and the remains of the salted caramel on the Kitchen worktop. x

Galen Sat 04-Jul-20 14:19:16

Post cut! I feel lightheaded

Doodle Sat 04-Jul-20 13:32:41

grandmafrench I somehow missed the photo of your Bella earlier. She’s very sweet ?. I take no responsibility for the Argy. lemon is management, ..I’m just the cleaner and dogs body.. you should see the mess I’ve been left with after last nights shenanigans ?
maydonoz congratulations to the young couple. Hope you have a good time.
maw sorry you’ve been brought so low. Glad you’re feeling a bit better today. Relax in a quiet corner of the kitchen and have brew ?
charleygirl that’s a real nuisance about your garden waste. I don’t believe they can’t trace your number from your address. How unhelpful.

Thank you all who have brought goodies to the kitchen. I am doing my best to help dispose of them all ?

izabella lovely to hear from you again. Sorry you’ve been in hospital. Hope your pain eases soon. Enjoy your reading to your CH. I too think the poems a better choice ?
galen a haircut. Lucky you. Mine now, instead of my usual bob looks like a wicked witch. Shame it’s not near Halloween, I could make a fortune dressing up. Are we going to get a post haircut picture too please? ?
corner sorry you’re in pain and had a bad night. There are worse habits than jigsaws corner. Don’t complain ?

cornergran Sat 04-Jul-20 13:00:00

Hello everyone. Good to see you back maw and izabella.

I’m joining izabella resting today. Sleepless night (physical pain rather than worries) has removed the last vestige of get up and go, Although I seem to have retained my ability to supervise Mr C grin.

My hairdresser would be delighted with you galen, she wasn’t pleased to hear there has been DiY hairdressing here. Oops.

MacS could be forgiven for serious muttering soop, infuriating to have a journey for nothing.

Suggest a formal complaint to your Council charley, you cant be the only one with a misplaced sticker. Daft for sure.

A jigsaw free zone has been declared here. Mr C gets shall we say fixated on the flipping things. Having just finished a huge, complex and in truth beautiful one we’ve agreed a jigsaw free week. There is ‘stuff’ to be accomplished. A new one is sitting looking at him so I suspect a week will shrink to 5 days, or maybe 4 or even 3. Oh well, worse things he could be doing smile.

Take care everyone. TOYA.

soop Sat 04-Jul-20 11:46:46

MacS has returned minus the wotsit. He's not in a good mood. Seems the 'puter man was not at home. He now needs to take over and try to make contact by email.

Galen I like your hair. It seems a pity to cut it. smile

Now I really must wash and get into something more becoming. Bye for now.

soop Sat 04-Jul-20 11:42:18

Good morning dear you lovely lot. The computer change over is due to take place very shortly. MacS will officiate and scrabble around this area and um and ha etc. I shall be barred from interfering. As if.shock

CherryCezzy You are always welcome. As is every one of our Kitcheners no matter how frequent, or not, you visit. You are one of us. You are a treasure. You matter. flowers

Grandmafrench Bella is a beauty. Her portrait is now gracing the gallery of precious pets.

Izabella Dear lady, I was wondering why we hadn't heard from you in some time. What on earth happened? You must take things quietly. Listening to music and reading poetry sounds perfect. flowers

Maw You are in a state of shock. No wonder you are feeling fragile. Please may your usual state of equilibrium be restored pretty damn quick. sunshine.

Doodle You are a mischief maker...and you make me grin.

Nannytopsy Your Charlie is a cat. Cats do exactly as they please...and get away with it. wink

MacSporran has informed me that he's off to pick up the reconditioned computer. Any time soon, fingers crossed, I shall be back with you and doing what I hope will be a proper in depth catch up. I'm still unwashed and wearing 'jamas. Slept in and am consequently well behind with the usual routine.

Before I go...here is last night's sunset. I hope to be back with you sometime this afternoon.

Galen Sat 04-Jul-20 11:39:21

2hours to go before haircut! And boy, does it need it!

dragonfly46 Sat 04-Jul-20 11:16:54

Good to see you Maw.

Isabella what a positive lady you are.
I do hope your pain eases.

Charleygirl5 Sat 04-Jul-20 10:51:02

Alexa I did try that, stating I had forgotten it but unless the long number is correct they are not interested. I really am not surprised they keep moaning about waste and items dumped. They do not attempt to help those of us who try to keep the area clean and tidy.

My small rear garden is block paved so it cannot be made into compost. I have a lot of grass on the side and front- my house is an end terrace.

Grandmafrench Sat 04-Jul-20 10:27:45

Izabella what a lovely, calming, amusing, optimistic lady you are (even with a crumb fixation ?).

Welcome back and what a superb piece of advice you shared on Type 2 Diabetes.

Have a restful day. Hoping your pain recedes and you’ll feel more normal very soon. French hugs and sunshine and ? to you ( both of you). X

maydonoz Sat 04-Jul-20 10:20:55

For Charleygirl I would have thought your Council should be able to find your reference no from your address, it can't be that difficult. I suppose it's easier to charge you again!

Puzzler61 Sat 04-Jul-20 10:14:26

Good morning Kitcheners.

Grannygravy and Nannytopsy many thanks for a delicious start to the day. Croissants, honey and banana loaf.

If we could get a hairdresser to come along to the kitchen (and I’m sure that wouldn’t be difficult if we told her about our foodie goodies) we’d be set for the weekend!
Alexa kind offer, but for me - I’ll make myself a mint tea as I don’t drink coffee.

MawB just come and relax amongst friends and we’ll try to cheer you and allay some of your fears. You will wear yourself out worrying in the night and not sleeping.
