Lovely summer morning, dawn chorus. What would be better to wake up to? Well... maybe a chain saw? a pneumatic drill? Anything that would blot out the incessant nattering of jackdaws. Why do they always sound as if they are quarrelling? Maybe they are. They just went on and on and eventually I forced myself to get up and close my bedroom window which enabled me to have an hour or so sleep.

Soops kitchen for caring and sharing...
(1001 Posts)I am so very sorry. My computer has died on me. Am having to use MacS's and am in a bit of a pickle. Just wanted to open this new kitchen and try to catch up later.
Maw
Bellanonna We shall possibly not be able to find a fish and chip café, as we may fly to Glasgow. MacS has to remain somewhere isolated. He's not allowed to accompany me. All very tiresome.
I'm searching for portable urinals (in case we need to drive to hospital) as there will be no conveniences open. As I said...let joy be unconfined.
Oh dear Soop I am torn between sympathy for you at the prospect of more “rootling” and congratulations that action is being taken at last!
However, as a social calendar........it might leave a bit to be desired! Unless Loch Fyne fish and chips feature of course!
Re the epithets “grand scrubber” and “good cooker” I remember DD aged about 6 who had just found something I had been looking for describing herself as a “good looker”.
Of course she was!
I hope that’s on your favourite fish and chips route, soop!
Best of luck with the rootle and scan ?
We have nothing to note on the calendar for months. And now, ta-da, I've two outings to look forward to. One in Oban hospital for a rootle round the nethers and an appointment in Glasgow hospital on the 7th July for a mammogram of my existing breast. Let joy be unconfined.
Very hot weather in NW London for the next few days. Luckily my house is cool so I will not be perspiring too much. I am about to wash my hair and it will dry in no time.
I do hope that Marydoll is okay and home again, self-medicating there.

Carillion, we have a similar problem with our small cherry tree, but our thieves are blackbirds. The pigeons are too big to hover and get at the cherries. We've had more cherries this year than ever before too. I may borrow that idea of a faux buzzard. Our DS had a faux heron to deter the real things from eating the fish in the pond, it was a hideous looking thing but it worked.
Thank you for the tip Galen I have arthritis in my feet and I am having increased pain lately.
Glad you enjoyed your trip to the sea Dreamkeeper, it sounds very enjoyable. Perhaps you can go again in the next few days as the forecast is excellent.
A wonderful midsummer sunset soop, quite spectacular as befits this special day.
TOYA ??
Doodle, I managed to complete a pleated mask after about three days and a lot of 'inventive' vocabulary. I used instructions on Youtube. There are plenty of them, for two different types. Hope you have better luck. I think it would be quicker to knit one, but in this weather...
Galen, how could you?
Soop, here's hoping that your next appointment will improve matters for you. You've been disappointed a few times, I know, and it would be great to hear some really positive news. You deserve it.
Wait for me carillion I’m coming with you.
galen you’ve left putting your sprouts on a bit late ?
Good evening dear friends and thank you for sending me welcome back messages. So very much appreciated.
A lovely day here in Brittany and a faux buzzard arrived today via A****n to deter the big, fat pesky pigeons who have not only scoffed the few cherries we managed to grow but then ‘pooed’ the debris everywhere.
Galen thanks (NOT) for that c*******s image which I cannot now unthink. ???
Sending love to you all (heading over to the A___y now in the hope of finding some rebellion) ???
TOYA xxxx
Galen You are a TYKE!
Lovely post, Dreamkeeper
I've spent the entire afternoon sorting through the wardrobes. At one time I was hidden from view. Towards the end of the almighty task I was singing...'Keep right on to the end of the road...'
Now, I'm feeling chuffed with myself and am suppin' tea.
I shall log off with the usual
and share a photo of a very plump fledgling with you all. It sits and waits to be fed, after which, he falls asleep until the next course is delivered. He's twice the size of his parent. It's such a tough life.
Galen
? to magnesium spray, it helps with my arthritis pain
? to bringing our attention to the C*******s word, when we’re
expecting a heatwave later this week
?
That's great Galen ?
Dreamkeeper try magnesium spray on the legs. It helps mine
Just popping in to say Hello to you all.
So great hearing from you Callgirl and hoping that simply taking life easy, taking my favourite "one day at a time",will work wonders,we will still be here for sure!
At last a date Soop, that in itself during these very turbulent times is great news, some much needed fresh hope that this long term problem can have a happy ending, making you feel much better, and in a much happier frame of mind.It has dragged on for far too long.
Thanks Nannytopsy and sorry hearing about your cramp, such a darn nuisance.
I get nightly twinging legs( like so very many others) and it plays havoc with sleep.
Hope there will be no further occurences of the cramp
Go carefully with the painting!!
Cherry I think it is a sign we are perhaps using our arms, hands and wrists too much although of course medically you are quite right...........warmth as well as a rest usually helps a lot.
We cannot have you unable to communicate with us!
A rather grey day here with a cool breeze, but we are getting ready for the heatwave, a big no to a bikini these days, but yes to lots of sun cream!
Some nice cool cotton summer wear due to arrive mid week........good timing (as long as it fits!)
Enjoy your day, keep well, stay safe.

soop I don’t envy you with your hospital rootle but I do hope it helps towards sorting your problems. You complain so little but it must cause you so much trouble and pain.
puzzler if you want to try soop’s cooking you could always pop into the Argy we always have some of soop’s burnt offerings delicious baking on offer at the bar.
susan good news about Henry. Hope he improves day by day.
anno when you have mastered the art of the masks please tell me. Mine are a sight to behold ?
Nice to see you in the kitchen carillion. ( Sssh ? meet you in the Argy later. ?)
maw that’s a real photo to cherish and I love your caption. ?
callgirl nice to hear from you.?
TOYA?
Dearest callgirl1 Bless you for popping in to say hello to us lot. You know that we are here for you. If sharing your feelings with us helps, then please do just that. I know how difficult it is for some of us to open up from time to time...however...as I've said many times before, our kitchen door is always open. Just come on in and sit quietly if you prefer.
CherryC Do you have one of those support things to wear when you suffer with tendonitis?
I have the hospital appointment for mid July. In the meantime, I shall continue to bite the bullet. It's what we do.
Dear Susan
Nannytopsy At least you manage to slide elegantly from your bed. Cramp! Arrgh! MacSporran hops from one end of the room and back again with a certain grace on the many occasions when his calf goes into a severe spasm.
Good luck with painting your door. What colour have you selected?
Glad to see you callgirl.Sending you strength.Like Lins I have thought of you often.Take care and stay safe?
Morning all! My post of yesterday didn’t make it so let’s try again!
Dreamkeeper I am so glad you had your trip out - it will give you new memories. Welcome back Carillion!
This morning I elegantly slid off the bed when I tried to get up quickly with cramp. DH had to come to my rescue! Off to buy new paint and undercoat for the front door this morning after a complete disaster over the weekend. I shall be so glad when it is finished!
Hope everyone has a good day.
Lovely to see you again callgirl. Hope things are alright, I've thought of you often. Be gentle with yourself and post when you can xx
I`m still around, but haven`t had the mental energy recently to read more than a few posts a day, and still not up to posting. Hopefully I`ll be back soon.
So pleased to hear that little Henry, bless him, is doing better, and all the best to you Soop at your upcoming appointment. Nice to hear that the Panaches managed to get their outing to the sea.

Just a quick visit from me, my typing hand is playing up (tendonitis) so I won't linger.
soop, I'm pleased to hear that your consultation with the surgeon went well and before long you will be receiving your long overdue treatment. You will follow the kitchen Drs advice and rest, take it easy won't you? If not it will become an enforceable order you know young lady ?
Grandmafrench, no you are 100% correct nobody cuts an artery by way of a "scratch". It was the word my friend's father used when he cut himself though. She used several bags of salt to soak the blood up off the rug (obviously not straight away) and she had reacted quickly! He did it whittling. He's injured himself
whilst whittling before but they have been scratches. He's even back whittling again, regardless of my friend's concerns ?.
Susan, I'm sorry to hear that you have been having a stressful time, please look after yourself
. It's wonderful to hear that Henry is doing so much better with the new dietician at the helm ?
TOYA ?
