What’s going on? I would have thought mention of Rufus S would have had everyone swooning just as they were doing a couple of years ago. Can’t blame it on Covid!
Being Father’s Day, where or how is it being celebrated?

Jane; when do you expect to take up your holiday booking? A boutique hotel sounds nice; any where we know ? Not Balmoral Castle obviously!
You reported fog one day ( Scotch mist?) and then you’re hanging on to your drinks in the garden next day! Suppose the menfolk are hanging on to their kilts too!
We’re having the sort of weather you like, cold 12C today, 13C tomorrow! And that’s not OK!

Grandmabatty; Talking with our Michelle(Bournemouth family) this evening and reminiscing about Dellboy’s episode on “Only Fools” and the classic chandelier cleaning job! Obviously had to get it right first time with only one take! She put me on to a Peter Kay which needs following up. Looking for laughs any where these days, but hard work!

Megs seems like you’re working on a new dance routine, “one step forward, one step back” Sounds familiar, though! I don’t want to dwell on Corvid and I hope to reassure members with connections here, but again we’ve had another batch of new cases, not many are from returning overseas travellers this time, which is more alarming. Proposed lessening of restriction in some areas are now being re-imposed.
So, there you go Megs!
The tenants have finally left the house opposite and it now looks forlorn! No-one worried too much about window coverings with lights on every where, but now, 11.00pm, it’s in total darkness, awaiting the arrival some day of the demolishers. That’ll be fun! sad

Still haven’t made a move on Win 10; why put off until tomorrow, what can be put off until the day after!

Rufus2 - not off to Balmoral (again) just a lovely little place near Oban. Fingers crossed all OK by then. Something to look forward to.
Last nights drinks in the teeth of a gale were enjoyable all the same. A change of company. Its pouring with rain now so we were lucky to have got away with just wind last night.
Temp absolutely fine by me. I'll post a pic of the garden in better weather.

BTW it's David Olusoga we've all fallen for these days. Rufus S is yesterday's man!

Rufus, I had forgotten that episode! There are so many good ones. Batman and Robin is another good episode. I might look for it on Netflix. I'm watching the Magnificent Seven at the moment and have a hankering for Yul Brunner. After a very busy day yesterday, I've done very little today and feel lazy. Dinner was roast chicken, chipolatas, parsnips and carrots. Followed by raspberries, ice cream and creme fraiche. So I need to sit down and recover.

Rufus, better late than never....another dance springs to mind....you put your right leg in,your left leg out, and do the Hokey Cokey and twist it all about...... That’s how I feel about changing situations.
Belated Cheers, guess you’re just having your dinner.

Never heard of him "till now!
So that makes Rufus 2 "the day before yesterday's man!"!?
Thanks very much! You've "all" forsaken good looks for brain!? sad
He's a Professor, so what!? They're 2 a penny these days! And an OBE.! Please let me remind you I'm also an OBE ! hmm "They can't take that away from me!"

I know you're an OBE and gorgeous but David Olusoga is gorgeous in a different way. Those cheekbones, that lovely smile, that beautiful voice... All that and brains too!

that beautiful voice... All that and brains too!
Don't tell me he sings too!? Are we talking about the same David? confused
Btw; liked the look of your back garden; pushing the mower would be rather back breaking, but there again, you've probably got a sit-on motorised version! hmm

I haven't had time to read "The Oldie" piece before Dame Vera died, but it was timely.
That URL in the "Good Evening Monday" thread was copied from Matthew Webster's Oldies Newsletter which you probably get, but it's an interesting piece.
