The American woman is at it again. Not satisfied with destroying tea she's turned her attention to scrambled eggs grin

A fridge???

:D :D

Nor have I smile

I didn't see that bit.

SueDonim Thu 25-Jun-20 00:45:38

Oh yes, I’ve heard bangs referring to a fringe, I meant I’d never heard of it in regard to a fridge.

BibiSarah Thu 25-Jun-20 00:36:39

It’s not a term I’ve ever heard when I’ve been the US

I only ever hear people speak of their fringe when I'm at the hairdressers or when I'm with a friend/family and we're discussing out hair. I expect its the same with 'bangs' which is a much used term in the States.

BibiSarah Thu 25-Jun-20 00:33:07

why so Americans call a fringe "bangs"?

Ive always thought 'bangs' referred to the Farah Fawcett type fringe that was long and styled/swept back towards the ears. Not the kind of fringe that was styled across the forehead. I used to think oh they must be called bangs because they bang about when they run after a baddie.

Have you got a bit clip of the bacon and eggs on the pavement Callistemon? It love to see how that goes down! grin

Callistemon Wed 24-Jun-20 19:53:19

The video is bacon and eggs fried on the pavement today.

I think we've all been having a meltdown today, MawBroon!

grannyrebel7 Wed 24-Jun-20 19:30:00

The tea one was worse. Made me want to be sick! Having said that I've been to the US 11 times and love the American people. They're so much more polite and helpful than us.

Chewbacca Wed 24-Jun-20 19:21:55

I saw the vid of the chap trying to follow her instructions namsnanny; it was a bit of a disaster wasn't it!

Why is anybody thinking that this thread is being "policed"? I don't understand that comment at all; surely Maw was simply adding her posted opinion, not "policing"? <sigh>

Hacked off more like hmm

^This^^^ from the woman I complimented by saying I thought her most admirable attribute was that she's honest -- and she responded by having a meltdown!

My dear - you call that having a “meltdown” ?
In the unforgettable words of Al Jolson, - you ain’t seen nothing yet. gringrin

Namsnanny Wed 24-Jun-20 18:49:08

Callistemon...I havent watched the others but the tea one got to me.
Yes I'm sure she is winding us up for profit.
Just look at the little girls face as she makes tea.
Suppressed grin or what?!

rosecarmel ... It could be said you enjoy a wind up too, and it wont be the first time some one thought your account was hacked. Grandmafrench obviously noticed.

As an aside, did anyone watch the vid after of the Englishman testing her methods out?
Could he be more different to her?
The contrast just amused me, but then, I am easily amused. smile

Since when is ‘Maw’ allowed to police posts?

Whoa there Grannylyn65 !
I wondered whether rendering Sussexborn ‘s name as Bornsussucks - was not a particularly childish retort, especially being aware of that unpleasant Americanism that something “sucks”
MawB is not policing posts , but exercising her right to comment as I assume I may?
So if anybody doesn’t like that they can follow Oor Wullie’s advice in similar circumstances.

MawB Wed 24-Jun-20 18:01:39

I don't wear knickers BornSussucks

Does that give you a modicum of childish satisfaction I wonder?

Sussexborn Tue 23-Jun-20 12:20:29

Haven’t made French toast for years probably because we make our own bread as OH has allergies. It would be the same without processed bread.

I used to fry the bacon then cook the eggy bread in the same frying pan to ensure maximum flavour.

Callistemon Tue 23-Jun-20 09:57:38

I wondered about at at first because she is so dead-pan but I think she's a hoot.

Having watched a couple more, she manages to simultaneously take the Mickey out of two nations' cuisine!

The tea one is fabulous.

HolyHannah Tue 23-Jun-20 06:01:04

I really hope she is just an attention seeker and these ridiculous 'recipes' are just a gag... Next will be 'Fried eggs on a Bonnet' and her in the lane-way showing she knows which end of a car is which. LOL

HolyHannah Tue 23-Jun-20 05:51:33

What that woman made in no way resembles tea. I don't care where you live...

I am going to brave her 'egg video' now... Wish me luck.

Is that meant to be funny - or just plain childishly rude?
Based on your insults lashed out to all and sundry today I have my own views hmm

It was meant to be true, I don't wear knickers .. ?

rosecarmel Tue 23-Jun-20 03:29:15

Grandmafrench

"She's never normally like this?!"

Oh yes she is - just try some of nonsense she comes out with on the Estrangement threads. Difficult to see anyone with more anger issues and with a lower opinion of the members of Gransnet.

Yes, I realize you've difficulty seeing that my lovely reply was in response to your prejudice comment/s .. ?
