Thank you everybody for your messages. What was up with me had nothing to do with Covid 19, thankfully, although you've probably noticed that Melb. has had and continues to have, more cases each day. There are 30+ suburbs in lockdown, such that police roadblocks are checking drivers' licences for addresses making sure they are not crossing boundaries! I'm sure the "locals" will have back doubles to get around that, although the very stiff fines should act as a deterrent. Many small businesses, such as cafes are now back to earlier restrictions; footy clubs are moving interstate to complete their season; I'm not too sure how that will sit with State Govts. that have already stated that anybody from Melb. will not be welcome.
None of our "Grey Nomads" with their caravans are able to escape our Winter for their annual pilgrimage to the Sunshine State.
I give up trying to keep up.!
No lemongrass, my carousing days/nights are long gone, because as BlueSky guessed, it was another episode of giddiness which goes by the technical name of "Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo", or BPPV.
Oopsadaisy knows all about this! Whilst I was lying flat out on my back I was thinking up all sorts of alternative meanings for that acronym that could be more easily remembered and understood, but they all somehow started with something that rhymed with"bluddy"
BlueSky/rafichigran; don't you worry about "cool" responses. I've had more than my fair share of "hot" responses, since I was admitted to GN, as Megs could confirm. Mind you, I'd be quite happy to turn up the flames again! . grin
Even if someone says "Put a sock in it" I'd still carry on because the process of compiling is very therapeutic keeping the grey cells churning and me aware of things going on.
Grandmabatty; Thanks for your concern and yes, I try to post something every day , hopefully something interesting and "kultural". Some have said a while back that they don't read postings with an Aussie flavour for lacking said kulture.
Good luck to them I say! hmm

Now for something even more cultural.! I'm in the market for a replacement Doona?Duvet/Quilt and apart from my confusion over these terms on the Internet, the term "bamboo" makes it even more so. Difficult to make out whether it's for warm or cold climates, or even one for each!?
Gransnet's jokes were well received by the Council's newsletter editor, except some were too long and others too near the you know what! Obviously she knows her audience and I'm sure we have enough to last out this pandemic; I hope grin
Must go! Good Health and keep away from BPPV! wine wine

Oh I'm really glad you're back. I love hearing about other countries from people who live there. I'm sorry that there's been a resurgence of the lurgy though. I'm babysitting my grandson at the moment and we're having a quiet half hour. Take care Rufus2 x

Good Afternoon Rufus, glad you are back. Not the best of days weatherwise, so feet up on the setee, candle burning and a cup of tea.

I'm glad you're back Rufus - I thought someone had sat you down on the naughty chair and forgotten all about you.

No, keep them down there in Victoria please! I must say we might well have been in the Sunshine State too but for this virus.

What about a wool doona? That could keep you snug on a cold, wet Melbourne night.

Take care and don't go rushing around getting giddy again - perhaps one less Aussie Shiraz might help
Cheers wine
