Thank you Benjamina. Where is the sunshine we usually have for our July birthdays?

benjamina Fri 03-Jul-20 11:28:24

Good morning (late morning I know!) to everyone - weather wise the northwest of England is not good - grey heavy cloud and lots of rain.

It does me good to hear of the weather abroad - your descriptions take me there - hopefully at some point I will get to go. But for now the descriptions are helping.

What a touching story from Urmstongran - it made me so happy and cry a bit at the same time. Does not take much to set me off during these times!

Happy Birthday to Puzzler - hope your day is as lovely as your cake looks smile

I had better get a wriggle on now - my DD and GS (12) are calling after 12. He text me to say they are making me a surprise. I dont think he was supposed to tell me so I must look really surprised!

Love and care sent to all who are are struggling for whatever reasons

Good Morning from Harrogate - it's just started to rain (just for change). Having been having more fun with my roomba - discovered the best way to control it is shut the doors where it shouldn't go! Will do some more baking today, then after lunch sew a few more laundry bags (for Keyworkers) and walk the dog. Then the highlight of the week - my shopping should arrive from ASDA. Fingers crossed I've got what I asked for!!

Puzzler61 Fri 03-Jul-20 11:16:09

Thank you Ellan and Kalu.
I’m a relative spring chicken at 62 today.
More wrinkles than at 26, but still the same numbers ?

Kalu Fri 03-Jul-20 11:02:42

Good morning everyone from a dreich day in Glasgow. Indoors today and DH has popped out to collect both our scripts. He may need a large shopping bag.?. Extra painkillers needed today as my calcific tendonitis has started to niggle in my right shoulder. As I have used up my quota of steroid injections in both shoulders I am hoping a couple of days in a sling and cold packs nips it in the bud. Any excuse to get out of doing housework. ?

Have a safe journey Pantglas

Hope you are feeling a bit stronger today Cherry and sorry to hear you are feeling fragile at the moment Maw?

Happy Birthday Puzzler??. 21 again? ?Hope you have a lovely day to celebrate whatever number it is.

Hope everyone has a pleasant day and a better one for you BlueSapphire and our other friends who are struggling with health or worries.

Good morning from a dull and breezy mid-Notts. Nothing planned for today - so bitting and bobbing around the house I expect. Always lots of little jobs to do. His Lordship the cat has just come to sit on my lap so it would be really unfair to move him when he's just got himself comfy!! I'll have a few more minutes sitting down before he wants to be off elsewhere!! Stay safe everyone and may Friday be kind to us all x

Good Morning All x
Back to winter with the weather sad Dull blowy and really not so warm either, with gales forecast !

I woke up at 03.30 by " someone whistling ?" Why would anyone be in earshot of my bedroom window, whistling ? It was a beautiful blackbird, nearer than usual with his early morning call. I then lay awake listening to his song then heard a plane in the distance, this early. After that the whirr of the milk float so quite eventful.

How lovely to hear of the comings and goings of everyone especially of the glorious weather in France and Spain, my two favourite places. It was also lovely hearing about your nearby visitors Urmston, just what's needed in these times.

Scentia I remember my D in Oz doing her NVQ's and all kinds of exam sessions when/before she took up her childminding job. She got through it all so I'm sure you can too. GD also followed in her footsteps as it's a good job there, fulfilling and well-paid.

The delights of nature on the doorstep Grandmafrench, it's my idea of a happy life, love it.

Birthday wishes to Puzzler flowers

flowers to Maw, Susan, Dragonfly and those who are " not quite yourselves " as it is noticeable, you can sense these things.

Safe journey to Pantglas----own teabags and chamberpot packed ?

Harrigran and Cherry flowers

Well I won't be going far today getting blown about. I pretty well got what I wanted yesterday so no need to.

Hoping D will be doing some M&S shopping, local is handy but so boring though you can't expect the same stock as larger stores, they are literally basic shops. Beggars can't be choosers during these times, I understand that but it's become a treat to indulge now and again grin

Nearly coffee time already, why am I wishing for a dash of brandy in it ? I haven't even got any brandy.

Anyway, wishing you all a good day and thinking of absent friends. Stay safe everyone xx

Bellasnana Fri 03-Jul-20 10:03:37

Puzzler a little bird has told me it is your birthday! Many happy returns. Hope you enjoy your day.????

mumofmadboys Fri 03-Jul-20 09:56:40

Wet and windy today in Cumbria. Lying in hot bath having returned from my 20 mile cycle around Bassenthwaite. I know I am mad but I feel if I take a couple of days off I'll stop doing it! I agree with dragonfly's comment about doing jobs which I have put off for 3 months! Have peaceful and happy days if possible.

Nortsat Fri 03-Jul-20 09:56:25

Good morning Mick and the GM team from a currently sunny east London.

We are parcelling up the cot blanket to send to Australia to the newest edition of the family. No cuddles and bugs possible. ?

On the bright side, our dishwasher began working again. It has been out of action for a month. An engineer could not be sent because I am shielding, so we’ve had a month of washing up by hand. We would have to wait until August for a repair person to come ... so my partner said let’s give it a try. It worked!
It’s not even a year old ...

Maw sorry to hear you have had a difficult few days ?
Ditto Cherry ?
Thinking of all those in (or soon to be in) warmer climes, sitting in pavement cafes with something delicious to eat and drink ... enjoy ...
Have a good day all and ?to those who need them.

harrigran Fri 03-Jul-20 09:45:17

Good morning from a dull and wet NE.
Washing and ironing day.
Family video call tonight, teenager should be a bit happier as she got to meet a friend last weekend.
Family have a holiday in outer Hebrides arranged for late August, staying in a secluded house so they are hoping it can go ahead.
DH and I have no desire to travel anywhere least of all to get on a plane.
A day with my novel beckons as I can only use one hand.

Gelisajams Fri 03-Jul-20 09:38:06

Good morning from a very wet Morecambe Bay. DS1 is coming later, I think he may have to swim up the M6. We had a couple of texts earlier suggesting cancelling but we are going with the original plan. DH is relieved as as head chef he had taken a joint out of the freezer last night.
Have had a very lazy start this morning. Need to get a wiggle on and get the house tidied. Why do I clean up when someone is coming?
Take care and stay safe everyone ?

SusieB50 Fri 03-Jul-20 09:17:49

Good morning from a sunny East London. Off to meet my DD at her allotment today . GDC have been “helping” during schools out and they want to show me their veggies
growing. Yesterday I had to cut a shrub down in the front as the painters dropped a can of paint all over it ! It fell off the hook on the ladder. At least it wasn’t one of the painters . I think it will recover , I hope so as it hid the dustbin . Enjoyed watching all the butterflies and bees in the garden , I have planted more wild life friendly plants in the front and it’s paying off .

Greyduster Fri 03-Jul-20 09:09:27

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a grey and gloomy South Yorkshire. Thankyou for all your anniversary wishes yesterday. We went out in spite of the weather and had a nice day, and DH’s footie team had a win to round it all off for him. AND! My hairdresser rang to offer me an appointment for next Friday!!!! Thank goodness, but I wish, now, that I hadn’t had another go at it yesterday morning! Have a good safe day folks.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Feelingmyage55 Fri 03-Jul-20 08:57:44

Good morning from a wet, grey and dark north of Scotland. It is more like November. Never mind. There are some Wimbledon repeats on BBC to offer some cheer.

Grandmabatty Fri 03-Jul-20 08:47:28

Good morning all. It's wet and gloomy here in Polmont. Its been a pretty horrible start to July weather here. The only bonus is I don't have to water the plants! An extra day babysitting yesterday and it is such a joy to spend time with my wee man. He's discovered his voice and babbles away and looks so proud of himself. I have a dozy dozy wasp in the kitchen which must have sneaked in yesterday but can't find its way out with windows and doors open! I dislike wasps intensely. I have nothing planned for today. My son was coming to a park near me to meet up with friends but the rain looks like it's on for the day so his plans may change. A spot of gentle pottering ahead I think. Marydoll, a nicer day for you yesterday than you thought. Have a good one today. Pantglas2 enjoy the warmth and sunshine of Spain. I should have been there with family just now. To everyone else, have a lovely day.
