X posts harrigran! Good that you spoke someone. If it’s gout I can appreciate how painful your hand must be. My stepfather suffered with it intermittently in his foot for years, until someone recommended he try a daily tablet of allopurinol and he’s never had a flare since.

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Sunny in Suffolk but still windy.
Happy Birthday *Beechnut!” Done spend it all at once!
Tomorrow we get a visit from DD & SiL for our first meeting since March. All very exciting! He is immensely organised and houseproud so there is lots of cleaning to do today ? and cooking too. It will be worth it!
Hope the day is kind to everyone.

Sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga ?

We’re off to the beach later. I finished reading ‘Blood Orange’ (a Richard & Judy recommendation) and it was very good - a real page turner. The protagonist is a female barrister and the erratic hours, riotous drinking in bars near Temple, smoking, juggling of work/home life was very accurate. I know a young female barrister and it rang true! A complete change today I think. I’ve put an Edith Wharton book on my Kindle. It’s a depiction of New York high society in 1880 called ‘The Age of Innocence’. This is what I love about reading - changing genres is wonderful - life is never boring with a book to hand!

You sound mithered Marydoll? You must be unsettled to want to speak with your RA nurse. I hope she is able to reassure you about those side effects you are experiencing.

Thinking if you harrigran today. I hope you slept some last night. And you too, BlueSapphire - I hope you’re feeling a bit better and well enough to join us soon. We miss you!

Oh and you as well Maw I hope you’re less sad and pop back here to chat.

Are you up yet Pantglas? I don’t think we heard from you yesterday.

Hope you get an appointment sorted Mick it will be another ‘new normal’ to add to your jaunts since lockdown. You’re doing well.

Hope Monday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Good morning from a dry but still windy NE.
Rang 111 yesterday and a doctor called me back, he told me where to travel to and he would examine my hand.
He thought it was probably arthritis and will need an x-ray at some point but could not rule out gout because of the swelling and redness. Tablets reduced the pain enough to let me fall asleep so a step forward.
Need to clean the house today, hairdresser coming tomorrow.

Good morning everyone from Inverness. It’s dry with grey cloud but at long last the sun is trying to peep out ....
Nothing planned for today yet, I’ve got some time to myself as DH is going to do some more work at DD2 garden. He put some grass seed down a week or so ago but there’s no sign of growth yet, I think all the rain might have washed it away
Ooooh Congratulations on becoming a pensioner beechnut
I hope you get some help from the medical teams marydoll and things become a bit easier soon .. sending gentle hugs
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care whatever the day brings ?

Morning Mick, morning All. Still a strong, gusty wind in our corner of Somerset, at least the clouds pass by quickly. Welcome to the pensioner club beechnut, it’s not so bad smile. Hope you get some reassurance marydoll, I suspect if on a mojo search the last route I’d take would be cooker cleaning. grin. Not a clue what we’ll do today, Mr C wants to sand some garden furniture if the wind drops, I’m not hopeful at the moment. Be gentle with yourselves everyone and still be careful out there.

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it is sunny.
Have you given up with cutting your own hair Mick ?

Today is the day I become a pensioner. ?

I need something for my diy jobs so will go today and see if the hardware store in town has it if not I’ll venture to one of the big chains later in the week.

Stay safe all and have a lovely day ?

Good morning Mick and all who follow from a sunny, but cool Glasgow. It's only 10 degrees Celsius.

DH is golfing, so I shall enjoy my empty.
I have no plans for today apart from cleaning my cooker and phoning the hospital for some advice on the side effects of my medication. It's not going to be simple, as one of the RA specialist nurses is shielding and the other is on holiday. If I can't speak to anyone, I will just phone my GP, once I get past the receptionist, that is.
I have been swithering, hoping things would settle down , but onsidering my history of allergic reactions, I need to now bite the bullet.

I look forward to hearing everyone's weekend news and hope that, Pantglas arrived safely in Spain.

Have the best day you can, everyone and best wishes if you have a birthday.

Good morning from a bright E Kent.
All the best getting a haircut Mick. I shan’t bother ringing my Hairdresser for at least a fortnight. She is probably swamped with old ladies wanting their weekly shampoo and set. My hair is now shoulder length and can wait.
Carpet coming today. No access to upstairs from 9; just as well we have a downstairs loo!
Marydoll, has you mojo been spotted yet? In either case, be kind to yourself. That goes to all those in pain and sorrow.
Stay safe, stay well.

Good Morning Everyone,
Its a nice dry and bright sunny start here in Brackley this morning.
Today , I will try and get an appointment to have my hair cut in the next few days.
It seems the order of most hairdressers with notices on doors giving details of numbers to book an appointment .
Other than that not allot today .
Take Care ,
Mick
