Please don’t jump down my throat, I am making an observation, not criticising but does anyone else think Wilfred is very long/tall for an 11 week old?
In yesterday’s photograph he looks almost ready for standing.

It’s nothing to do with “miserable”. I’m just not interested in the size of Boris’s baby and I’m entitled to say so !

There are some really miserable comments on here!
It was started as a lighthearted thread about a baby, as annsixty was surprised at how tall/long he appears to be.
So what, if you don’t like the PM .......
The Johnson baby will be loved and looked after, so he is lucky, certainly not ‘poor little thing’ or any other nonsense.

Annsixty my eldest DD was a ‘bouncing baby’ and once, when she was about three months I was at the house of a friend, when her elderly ( to me)? aunt, asked how old the baby was, when I told her she gave me a glare and shook her head saying ‘that baby is at least six months old’ ! She sat there muttering and shaking her head and repeating ‘six months!’ I realised later that she probably had senile dementia ( or was just extremely rude) to do that to a complete stranger, but at the time felt really uncomfortable at having a large baby.As it turned out, DD1 did become the tallest member of the family ( amongst the female line.)

Callistemon - it is because we don't respect the morality of the father, and the way he has (not) brought up his other kids - that I feel sorry for his child. Add to that the fact Boris will be remembered as the worst PM ever- and won't last the course- yes, poor child.

I think the last Downing Street baby was Leo Blair

annodomini Sun 19-Jul-20 20:38:22

Downing Street baby!

annodomini Sun 19-Jul-20 20:37:59

DS1 had plenty of hair at birth, with what looked like a pigtail at the back! He was long and skinny. 49 years later, he shaves his head and is 6', slightly shorter than his teenage son. How things change. There is no predicting what the new Downing Street will look like so no point in trying!

just feel so sorry for the poor child.

I feel sorry for babies born to cruel parents, in Yemen, in Syrian camps etc but there is no need to waste time feeling sorry for Wilfred, who, I am sure, is much loved.

There are some strange posts on here because posters don't like the father.

Some babies have faces that only a mother could love. grin

Orangerose Sun 19-Jul-20 20:00:22

biba70 - why?

Surprised that the posters who don’t care post anyway!

One of my sons was 23.5 inches long and 8lb 4oz. No new born baby clothes fitted him in length, and larger sizes swamped him in width. He looked very undernourished for the first three months of his life despite having a very healthy appetite. He is now just over 6ft 2in the exact height predicted by the Health Visitor.

PinkCakes Sun 19-Jul-20 19:31:38

Perhaps he was long at birth. My 2nd son was 23 inches born (the average is 21, I believe), weighed 10lb 13oz, and at 11 weeks old, he was wearing clothes for a 6 month old grin

The others are all a bit old to be drooled over, surely. grin

vegansrock Sun 19-Jul-20 18:11:13

Lets see some photos of his other children so the gushers can have a drool.

vegansrock Sun 19-Jul-20 18:03:56

So much speculation about a baby fgs. You can see the back of his head. His hair is blond. He has big ears. So what???????lets hope he’s healthy and happy and inherits a load of dosh.

geekesse Sun 19-Jul-20 17:21:48

I’m still wondering if the baby may have a facial birthmark or deformity, for example a cleft lip. The first photo had the blanket pulled well up over most of the baby’s face, and this recent pic only shows him from the back. Of course, it may just be a desire to keep his image private.

Calendargirl Sun 19-Jul-20 17:14:45

Lots of dads look more like grandads nowadays GrandmaMoira.

My 15 year old grandson said recently that the father of one of his friends was 70. I suppose that will be Boris when Wilf is that age.

JenniferEccles Sun 19-Jul-20 17:02:59

I’m looking forward to seeing pictures of baby Wilfred’s face although I can fully understand their need to preserve some privacy for him.

A lovely family picture and Boris couldn’t take his eyes off his son.

Lovely.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 19-Jul-20 16:53:41

I wish the family well, lovely head of hair. We have had several long babies in our family, two of them are over six foot now.

eazybee Sun 19-Jul-20 16:47:59

I thought it was a very pleasant photograph and I was amazed at the amount of very thick blonde hair; babies usually have dark hair which rubs off then reappears as blonde.
Also quite pleased that there haven't been lots of photos of Boris hugging his baby because then he would have been accused of using him for publicity.
And good for you, Annsixty for not being intimidated.

Illte Sun 19-Jul-20 16:24:40

My son was a long, long baby though under 8lbs. Body and legs that went on forever as they hauled him out!

All the newborn babygros had to go back and be swapped for 9 to 12 month old. Then they hung like sacks because he was so skinny. ?

GrandmaMoira Sun 19-Jul-20 15:43:04

Carrie looks glowing and a happy new Mum of a big baby but Boris looks more like Grandad than Dad. It would be nice to a picture of Boris hugging his child.
In comparison I've seen a couple of lovely informal pictures of Prince Charles hugging his grandchild (I think it was Louis).
