What does everyone make of the latest Meghan and Harry ?

Anniebach Wed 29-Jul-20 14:47:05

Reading a thread and disagreeing with posts is what most do,
but telling posters to ‘let the topic rest’ is telling posters to be
silent on a topic which is in the news, as it is today.

merlotgran Wed 29-Jul-20 14:42:31

Of course it isn't a private thread, Lucca but I would never be so rude as to suggest that somebody 'let a topic rest' because I disagree with their comments.

It would be different if we were digging up old news but when an report in the public domain changes from day to day we have a right to discuss it without censorship.

Lucca Wed 29-Jul-20 14:11:09

Equally pollyperkins is free to read and comment and disagree.

Jabberwok Wed 29-Jul-20 14:05:16

Oh sorry! I tbought you meant the Queens wedding!! I clearly didn't read your post properly or may be senior moment!! eeek!
pollyperkins, you don't have to read, comment or even click onto this thread if the subject irritates you. We who wish to chat about this subject are free to do so if we wish, just as you are free to ignore it.

The topic isn't going to rest, pollyperkins because it is constantly being updated....by them!

Why are you reading these comments if you don't like what's being said?

Sorry has this become a private thread ?

lemongrove Wed 29-Jul-20 13:59:44

Will you settle for 30 Illte ??

Illte Wed 29-Jul-20 13:55:09

40 fat finger ?

Illte Wed 29-Jul-20 13:54:39

I meant it was about 50 years ago that I went to the exhibition and saw the queen's dress. ?

lemongrove Wed 29-Jul-20 13:52:54

Most people knew they would never stay in Canada, for all their pretended love of the place. I can’t see Harry being really happy where they now live....but it was all his choice, and he has hurt all of his family by doing it.

Anniebach

merlot love it

Harry has married his mother, he and his wife are victims,
he believes the press are hounding his wife as he believes the
press hounded his mother, yet he and his wife are doing the very same as his mother did, - playing the press when it suits
them, gets on the front pages as often as they can.

Annie you have really put your finger on what is happening with Harry.
He is avenging ( or trying to) his mother in his wife’s name.

pollyperkins Wed 29-Jul-20 13:47:19

Well said Bluebelle - I totally agree with you and others like Framilode. Cant we let this topic rest?

maddyone Wed 29-Jul-20 13:41:48

The biggest irony of all is that Harry is the epitome of white privilege! And he doesn’t seem to know.

It was on SkyNews that this morning that they’re suing somebody else for releasing names of the five ‘friends’ who leaked stuff about them. Sorry I’ve not got proper details, I don’t listen any more when anything comes on about them. I’m fed up of the drip, drip, drip effect and tend to not really listen. I do know there’s been a lot on about them, they seem to be suing the world and it’s dog!
I wish they’d disappear into oblivion.

They're suing again??? Is this the new way forward along with all the other money making ways forward?

Their SussexRoyal foundation is to be replaced by the MWX - Markle Windsor foundation. hmm

People had better start donating PDQ because SR only had £90,000 of other people's money in the bank and they've spent £16,000 of it winding up the foundation.

Are these two so thick skinned that they don't realise they're making themselves a laughing stock or do they only employ sycophants who assure them that we're clinging on to belief that they're going to change the world grin

Anniebach Wed 29-Jul-20 13:03:59

I didn’t like the wedding, I thought her walk down the aisle alone until Charles met her at the choir was an ego trip.

I thought writing on bananas -‘ you are strong, you are loved ‘
to abused women was patronising.

To visit S.A. meet women suffering so much and in her tv
interview not a word about those women , just a whinge that
no one asked her if she was ok when having baby.

As for - the announcement that there would be no announcement followed by a request for the press to attend
an announcement !

Jabberwok Wed 29-Jul-20 12:52:42

Sorry Illte , I spelt your name incorrectly!???

Jabberwok Wed 29-Jul-20 12:50:47

Illt, The Queen got married in November 1947! 73 years ago!!!!!! My mother and Stepfather were married that April, I was 4!!!!
Like most people, I wish these two would just go away and SHUTUP!

Calendargirl Wed 29-Jul-20 12:40:39

My DD in Australia says that when Meghan ‘drops’ a friend, they say she’s been ‘markled’!

?

Illte Wed 29-Jul-20 11:44:24

Ah, thank you jabberwok. I knew there weren't very many different flowers. It was about 40 years ago!

I'd think they were an awful couple whoever they were.

The difference is I thought he was doing OK before.
And its falling to think of all the money we spent.

maddyone Wed 29-Jul-20 11:37:39

I don’t think think the thread is ‘bitchy’ unless the truth is bitchy. The truth with H+M is truly distasteful and that’s why people are disgusted with them. High hopes for this couple have been shattered on the alter of their egos.

timetogo2016 Wed 29-Jul-20 11:32:46

Just making my point Callistemon.
It takes my mind of covid 19 for a while.

maddyone Wed 29-Jul-20 11:30:51

Lucca
You are right of course. I enjoyed watching the wedding, but in retrospect it was all dreadful. Why? Because it was over the top for a divorced woman, who married in virginal white (most brides who’ve been married before choose ivory or something similar) and her magnificent veil which was beautiful now seems like a slap in the face to the Commonwealth countries since she has zilch interest in them, it cost a lot of money for a woman who it now appears simply wanted a ‘princess’ moment, the feud with her family, the problem over the tiara whatever it was, the tension with Catherine, the entitled behaviour then and since then, the doe eyed drama whilst on an official visit ( nobody asked how I was) and on it goes and goes and goes.
Please disappear M+H.
Her family were right!

Jabberwok Wed 29-Jul-20 11:26:43

Oh no not again!!! I seriously wonder if they're 'alright upstairs '?! Do you think Prince Charles is paying for all these suings?! More fool him if he is!!!
It was the comments about the Commonwealth that finally did it for me with these two! H.M has spent most of her adult life furthering and nurturing this excellent institution as her father did briefly before her, and for these two to have the temerity to criticise and belittle it, when they themselves had had the opportunity to do so much good for it, was just the final straw! How dare they!!

I thought it was lovely to have the Commonwealth flowers on her dress

But to hear them criticising the Commonwealth took any good feeling away

I've tried to be Switzerland when it comes to these two but with that comment I'm losing my neutrality
