Hellogirl Tara had the majority of her teeth removed last year and the bill was roughly the same. She is on a prescription diet and would only eat the wet food for around 3 days and then went back to the biscuits. It has not stopped her. I was hoping she would continue eating the wet prescription food but no, she was adamant.

It took Tara a couple of weeks to recover- it was painful. Mia will be fine given time.

Thank you Corner, I was wondering how to feed Mia after she loses her teeth. Did your dog still manage normal dog food?

Ouch hellogirl, that’s one costly dental procedure. Our last dog had his teeth removed, didn’t stop him eating or living happily. Hope it’s the same for Mia.

We may have made a start on the garden susan , I suspect it will be a year or two before I can report it’s finished .

PS, the removal of said teeth will cost around £600!!

Glad to hear that Ludo has at last got a diagnosis, hopefully onward and upward.
I went to the vet with Mia tonight. She`s not eating and has lost a lot of weight, she has a gum infection and needs all her teeth removing. But first she has to be built up. He gave her a pain killing injection and some medicine to take home, the bill?...………….£109.15!! We weren`t allowed inside, had to ring a number to let them know we were there, the vet came out and took her inside, then brought her back afterwards, good job it wasn`t raining, lol!

Soop the photos of your grandchildren are lovely. Grandmafrench that is good news that they have a diagnosis for Ludo. I love the name. After my last dog was put to sleep I made the decision I wouldn't have another. My life is too busy and I wouldn't be able to give a pet enough exercise etc. But I miss having a dog around. They're always pleased to see you. Take care all.

corner,I love your plan for future proofing your garden,It is something we have started thinking about doing.We probably won’t make a start until next year now but we really need to start planning now.

I've just this minute ordered a new "pretend titty" from the supplier in Glasgow. If I knew of anyone living in the city who could pick it up for me, it wouldn't have incurred the £10 postage charge. Never mind. I remain grateful.

One of a darling cats, Hamish, who lived with us in Cornwall, was a bird stalker. He wore a collar with not one, or two, but three bells on it. He was thereafter known as Hamish Three Bells. He was bitten by another cat and developed Aids. We had to have him put to sleep. Heart breaking times for pet owners.

corner Fibromyalgia is horrible when it flairs up, especially at bedtime. I like your sensible plan to refurbish your garden. If I could, I would have ours cleared of stuff that has crowded out some of the smaller, prettier plants. In fact, a patio with a variety of flower pots containing easy to manage flowers and shrubs would be ideal.

silverlining Whenever I go into hospital, finding an appropriate vein in which to insert drips and such is a challenge and some...to be honest, I'm not looking forward to having a catheter inserted. That too can be a buggeration. Except of course, I won't need to keep asking for a bedpan. Small mercies.

kitty I do enjoy liver and onions. MacS is a lover of black pudding. I'm not.

My veins are tiny and its always a struggle both for blood tests and sedation etc. I dread it because whoever tries to do it, phlebotomist is the name, get fed up and look cross and i end up like a bruised pin cushion.
If my veins would only swop with my derriere I would be one very happy lady.

They used to be referred to as fugitive veins Corner back when Paw was having weekly blood transfusions for low Hb.
The nurse only had to come into the room for all his veins to shrink and rush to hide!
I believe it can be a sign of dehydration so they would sometimes make him drink a big glass of water.
(Oh in hindsight, the things the poor man had to endure.)

I also have mean veins soop, hanging onto blood a speciality . One surgery staff member has the knack of, as she puts it, getting blood from a stone. The non sleeping was just down to fibro, now and again it interferes with sleep. Just because it can I think . Normal service has been resumed now.

If it’s a bit soon for cruise booking what about a nice afternoon tea with pearls galen? They definitely need an outing.

It’s a grey, damp, dreary morning here. We’ve begun remodelling the garden, that’s how it will stay today. Fair weather gardeners are we and proud of it I’m gritting my teeth and removing a lot of low growing plants, sad to see them go but needs must.

The plan is to have the borders edged with sleepers, membrane around the established shrubs, top with slate chippings and fill the spaces with roses and other flowers in tubs. Although it’s a small garden the borders are packed, not a quick job. We’re thinking a couple of years should see it finished, then it’s future proofed out there and with luck still pretty. It also means I will have an excuse to buy plants .
