soop, so sorry to hear about the death of one of your neighbours. A loss to her family, the community and you. And yet another fall. Oh do take better care of yourself. I well know how shattering it is to one's self-confidence, not to mention the discomfort and pain of bruising.
susan, it's good to know that Henry has a clear diagnosis. I hope it will be easy to keep him off eggs and dairy, though when his first birthday comes around, he will need to have a vegan cake! But make sure he doesn't try to eat his one candle as my GS did last week - and it was his 15th. hmm

Just popping in to hear news of Henry. Poor little chap good that he coped well though. Now they have some idea of the allergies hopefully you can work towards a diet avoiding those things. What a lovely little lad he is. ?

Nannytopsy Tue 18-Aug-20 22:45:28

Glad your suspicions have been confirmed Susan and now you know how to proceed. Fingers crossed for a year’s time. DGS was dairy intolerant but has grown out of it.
Smug here after a day of housework prior to visitors tomorrow. I was a bit over enthusiastic squeezing the mop and broke the top part of the mop bucket. Out early tomorrow for a new one!
Sleep well everyone

cornergran Tue 18-Aug-20 22:36:25

Thank you for the news susan, Henry was certainly looking ready to face whatever came. Children can be so stoical, he’s a little star.

Such sad news soop, flowers your village must feel very heavy just now.

TOYA, stay safe everyone.

Susan56 Tue 18-Aug-20 22:28:34

So sorry to hear the sad news about your friend soop?

Hope the results from your scan are helpful callgirl?

Thank you for all your good wishes for Henry. He was such a brave stoical boy.Lots of needles but he just took it in his stride. The results show he has a couple of severe allergies. It was pretty much what we had worked out.The paediatrician has said he mustn’t have any dairy or eggs in any form for twelve months then they will test his reactions again and depending on his reactions they may try to introduce them.He will be reviewed in November when he may be tested for more sensitivities.I have attached a picture in the waiting room before he was turned into a human pin cushion?

TOYA

I hope that all went well for Henry today x
Soop, so sorry to hear about your village friend, life just aint fair, is it?
I`ve been to the hospital today for a bone density scan. What that will throw up I`ve no idea.

Grandmabatty Tue 18-Aug-20 19:55:10

Soop that is very sad. Poor family.

Grandmafrench Tue 18-Aug-20 15:02:24

Sometimes, just sometimes, I can't help feeling that Woody Allen's "Life is hard ..... and then you die" phrase is all too relevant. What very sad news and what a monstrous blow for the lady's Mum. We are reminded constantly that whatever life throws at us, however we strive or toddle through our days, we must never take it for granted and seize the day must be our mantra - as we squeeze every last drop of goodness out of life while we can.

In case I don't get back here today, sending hope that everyone is well and is seizing Tuesday - and every day. Onwards and upwards, lovely Kitchen folk, and don't forget to smile. (It confuses the hell out of people!)

French hugs (same as English ones - only hotter) grin to all.

susan thinking of Henry and hope the hospital appointment goes well.
soop sorry to hear about your neighbour. I wonder what will happen to her mother now.
Hope you are not too badly bruised from your fall,
TOYA ?

soop Tue 18-Aug-20 13:01:51

Dearest you lot, thank you for your kind words.

Susan We are all in little Henry's corner. Can you hear the cheers as they gather over the hospital? Please keep us updated when you have further news. sunshine

This is a brief visit. A middle-aged lady in our village, a driving instructor living with and caring for her mother, has died. A UTI took hold and resulted in pneumonia and kidney failure. there is a dark cloud of sadness hanging over our lovely village.

Grandmafrench Tue 18-Aug-20 09:48:33

Oh soop, how miserable for you. I’m relieved you’ve not broken precious parts but, even so, giving them a damn good shaking is never the best idea. Do hope you’re not too bruised or stiff and it’s largely your dignity (remember that?) that was put at risk.

Hope to hear that Galen has recovered and has a plan in place to avoid future risk. For the end of today, wishing good things and great relief for you, little H and his worried family, Susan

Am off to do battle with a ton of unwanted olive tree growth and to weed the area whilst it’s still shady. Wall to wall heat and sunshine does get in the way of honest toil, but I do love my little garden, so big hat, mosquito lotion, cold drinks ...and off we go. For now, hugs to all you Kitcheners. Please take care. x

Nannytopsy Mon 17-Aug-20 23:17:54

Hope you are not too badly bruised Soop and you are less bruised Galen.
Charlie cat has reached the age where some of his claws do not retract properly. When he jumps off “his” footstool, the claws catch in the carpet and he falls over. ?. It happens every time. It keeps us amused! Little does he know he is off to the cattery for safe keeping tomorrow - we have visiting dogs.
Sleep well everyone.

Grandmabatty Mon 17-Aug-20 22:59:21

I'm sorry you had a fall soop. Please take care. I've just been on a zoom craft class supposedly making origami flowers. Suffice it to say, origami and I are not best friends and I am not talking to it.

cornergran Mon 17-Aug-20 22:35:21

Oh dear soop, falls aren’t fun. We truly don’t bounce any more.

How are you galen? Hope you’re equilibrium is reestablished.

Wishing Henry well for tomorrow susan. Matilda will keep you from over focusing on what’s happening with Henry.

Sleep well everyone and please be careful out there.

Charleygirl5 Mon 17-Aug-20 20:51:20

Susan all the very best for that young man tomorrow. Daddy is going to have a long wait in the car park- I hope they do not charge what they charge here locally- it is cheaper to go and return by minicab!

Tara has been mumping and moaning for ages- she wants me to go to bed I think. I'm going to watch Line of Duty- nite nite

Hellogirl1 Mon 17-Aug-20 19:54:53

So sorry about your fall Soop, wherever we fall, it HURTS!

Doodle Mon 17-Aug-20 19:11:46

soop so sorry you’ve had a fall. Hope you are ok. Time to have you bubble wrapped I think ?
TOYA ?

Susan56 Mon 17-Aug-20 17:51:13

So sorry you had a fall soop.Take it easy for a couple of days,it’s such a shock to the system having a fall.

Galen, hope you are feeling better today.

Just popping in to say that tomorrow is the day Henry goes into hospital. We are looking after Matilda.Only DD is allowed in with Henry so our son in law has said he will sit in the car in the car park in case he is needed. When Henry was born by the time the hospital called he didn’t have time to get there so he is not taking any chances.

I will update you all as soon as I know anything.

TOYA

I am logging off until tomorrow. My thoughts are with you lovely lot. Keep yourselves safe. smile moon

soop Mon 17-Aug-20 17:19:36

Thank you, Marydoll. When the consultant put me on Zoledronic acid infusions, I was told to be aware of dental problems. Two teeth that have now lost all fillings are very fragile and there is little left. The dentist knows what the situation is. Trouble with me is, I keep Googling the very condition that I'm terrified of. I even dream that my jaw is crumbling.
Virtual hugs to you. I often think of that wonderful Christmas gathering - the one when we first met - and you seduced that unsuspecting Santa. wink

Charleygirl5 Mon 17-Aug-20 16:39:36

Marydoll as if you did not have enough to worry about. soop please that that heartfelt advice.

Marydoll Mon 17-Aug-20 15:54:07

Daisyboots, Please see your dentist. If are having alendronic acid infusions. Any dental problem must be checked immediately.
I was had a mouth full of ulcers, a side effect of my medication and when I phoned the surgery, a GP called me back and advised me to ask for an urgent dental appointment immediately. The biggest danger is if you need an extraction.
My dentist was adament about not ignoring any dental problems, due to necrosis. I now have three monthly appointments.

soop Mon 17-Aug-20 15:34:10

Do we blame Brexit? wink

soop Mon 17-Aug-20 15:33:30

Charleyg Tara would have landed gracefully. It seems that "our age" we do see life from a different perspective. Falls knock our confidence. I appear to totter these days. How come that I did hill walking for years with ne'er a stumble.

Charleygirl5 Mon 17-Aug-20 15:01:35

soop OMG not what I wanted to hear. That was a very nasty fall and to make matters worse it could loosen your prosthesis so please, please rest.

I agree, outside could have been worse but floors, even with carpets or rugs can feel hard also.MacS must have been very concerned. This old age lark is really not helping any of us.
