Kitcheners in action today.....not all good news, though. So sorry that your DD is still in pain, HelloCallgirl (which is your preferred name, old registered or new one?
. Excellent that she has a secure place until she is in a fit state to come home, though, that must give you some reassurance. In the meantime, blame all odd noises on Mia. You probably wouldn't be wrong. Our three are their own "noises off" group and always up to something. Today one just appeared under some towels that I had left in the tumble dryer to finish yesterday and the door was ajar. Fatal. She moved a leg and I almost went into orbit. Cats are possibly quite bad for one's nerves - always sometimes.
Syn, yes, no surprise! It looks as if the NHS is going to operate just like the Government. Yes, No, possibly, waiting list?,no list, next week, possibly, never? Don't give in, keep on badgering if necessary. Your problem, your life, don't let them forget you. Professor Doc Karol Sikora - an eminent Cancer specialist- was saying today that hospitals have blamed everything on Covid and this means that there are likely to be huge numbers of people afraid to bother their GPs and not having received usual hospital referrals, appointments, advice and treatment simply because everything has been put on hold for so long.
Hello to you Lins - hope you're o.k. Hi to Bellanonna. I had a Total Tantrum this morning, Mary when my 2nd in two days post on the GM thread jammed on Preview and Post. Both buttons changed colour, but nuffink went nowhere !! Amongst other stuff, had wanted to say don't worry about lovely Rome - all roads lead there - you'll go again. Promise yourself that, just keep safe until you can.
Glad to hear that Susan's Super Crêche is fully operational, at least. Make sure you don't get too tired, both of you. The babbas will be thriving but you and DH need those naps with all that pressure !! Charley so pleased you were told the truth about implants with regard to your gums. They do cost a fortune but don't suit everyone. Smokers for example. Gum density etc., is very important for success. Hopefully you, and your cheque book, will be just as pleased with a small denture, Anno.
soop so pleased you have been outing and abouting and lunching with chums. What else is there in life? It certainly isn't hiding in bed until the boiler man leaves. Though maybe that might be a plan because I can't think that you're going to be able to pay many bills if your vehicle handbrake spring alone costs over £400. Whaaaaaat? Although I did warn you that you possibly couldn't afford to run that Bentley - and swinging your handbag doesn't pay like it used to. (Or so I'm told!)
Do hope that those aren't homing Mees who have taken up residence chez Soop, because you and MacS are going to be to-ing and fro-ing indefinitely taking them walks and then finding they've come back - again and again and.....
We never had gnawed humane traps but we did used to lose the cheese every time but never a Mees person in the trap! Meanwhile, the evening noise in the ceiling space was horrendous. They all had boots and loved disco dancing. (Actually they'd have been very much at home in the Old Argy. ) The late night racing from one end of the house to the other was an unforgettable experience. But we were wrong about the Mees, because we changed the traps for the smallest, diddiest ones ever made and tried with pieces of Camembert. Et voilà - they were Shrews! Teeny tiny Shrews but ones who were heavy on their paws. We spent a rainy Sunday taking a total of 13 in a box to a barn a few miles from our home. We have never told this story to any other than English people - or we'd be laughed out of the country.
I've been grappling with the covers of a couch which I have laundered. I have another to do tomorrow. It's exhausting putting the covers back on again but the cats are thrilled....nothing like cream linen covers for delinquent cat appeal. Have a good litter pick, NannyT - bet you were the best Girl Guide
Take care everyone and keep smiling.
Hugs
