Nominative determinism

There’s a few appropriate names on the Gardener’s Question Time panels.

A local secondary school had Mr Bolt who taught Metalwork and Mrs Bakewell who taught Domestic Science.

Our Latin teacher was called Mrs Homer!

Our surgery used to have doctors called Holmes and Moriarty.

After WWII, there was a terrible shortage of housing. My mother saw an estate agent with the names “Waite, Waite and Hope”.
And my doctor until very recently was on a street called the Butchery, so was The Butchery Surgery!

Veterinary !

A vetinary surgery near here some years ago employed Mr Turnbull, Mr Drake, Miss Otter and Miss Barks.

I used to have a dentist called Mr. Tingle!

There was one in Durham called Dentith.

I had a hospital appointment for a colonoscopy, and when the appointment letter arrived, the consultant was a Dr Backholer.

There's a solicitors near where I used to live called Wright Hassall

There's a solicitors' firm called Wright Hassall. I hope they don't live up to their name!

There was a dentist near where I used to live in London called Dr Phang.

I once went out with a butcher called Gammon

My music teacher at school many years ago was Miss Frost, she married someone called Glass. And my hairdresser, Renee Moon, married a man who`s surname was Rocket.

I once visited a podiatrist called Mr. Footit

We had a consultant at the local hospital called Mr D Kay….

We once knew a plumber called Mr Puddle who married a Miss Waters and a joiner named Mr Boughtwood.

I had a client once whose name was Mr Hanger and his father was called Cliff. Fortunately, he wasn't a mountaineer .

A colleague with the surname Pratt had a first name beginning with A.........!

The registrar at the sexual diseases clinic many years ago was called Dr Kinghorn.

Somehow when I heard the name of the N.Ireland minister
several weeks ago a Mr. Edwin Poots I thought to myself
what a name. Obviously he did not go down to well and he resigned or was voted out yesterday.

There used to be a lovely kind hearted lady that worked for the R.S.P.C.A. she was called Mrs Pratt. (oh dear)

Apparently there is an Estate Agents called Doolittle and Dalley - remembering past experience with agents I think it is very apt!
