Hi all,
I am traumatised. It was disgusting. I feel sickenvy(not envy). X

This is getting more riveting by the minute the excitement is killing me

FlyingHandbag. Keep them coming. I like your quirky posts. I forgot to put the teabag in the pot today so I don’t know what to call the insipid liquid I took a mouthful of. Better pay more attention.
Do you have an extensive handbag collection? I don’t use a handbag because I would lose it. I only buy jackets with big pockets.

Feelingmyage55 Tue 11-Aug-20 00:34:52

oopsadaisy I read all the way through to ask if you had a magnet but got beaten to it. What are you making with the flat headed pins? Patchwork?

Callistemon

Twice as much tomorrow

Tomorrow I shall be unable to articulate my affection .

Callistemon Mon 10-Aug-20 23:12:39

A magnet would pull them out of the cracks so they could never rise up and stab you in the foot.
It doesn't work on Lego, though, more's the pity.

Hope everyone's paint is dry by morning.

LadyBella Mon 10-Aug-20 23:10:30

I can beat that. Whilst cooking the other evening I reached out for my glass of wine and took a gulp - but I'd actually drunk the eggs that I had whipped up in a glass for an omelette! I was almost sick!

Oopsadaisy3 Mon 10-Aug-20 23:02:12

I await tomorrow with breathless anticipation.

Goodness knows what I did with them! They had flower shapes on the top, I think. They may still be buried at the bottom of my handbag. My friend won a lovely handcrafted cushion and I got a packet of pins ?

MawB Mon 10-Aug-20 22:54:56

Whoa, whoa, yay, yay
Indeed Callistemon

Got to love The Crickets
Oh yes! More than I can say.

Sometimes I log on to Gransnet and think I've entered a parallel universe.
?

Oopsadaisy3 Mon 10-Aug-20 22:51:38

Oh Callistemon how lucky are you? Were they the 2 inch ones ? Or the ever so slightly smaller ones?

I’ll wait whilst you go and measure them,

I particularly love the green ones.

See a pin and pick it up and the rest of the day you can go barefoot......

Callistemon Mon 10-Aug-20 22:46:25

I've got some of those pins, Oopsadaisy
Lots of pretty colours. So lovely.
I won a raffle earlier this year, it was so exciting, my prize was a packet of pins.

Callistemon thankfully the pins have the little bobble on the ends, so they were very easy to find, unfortunately some have gone down the gaps in the floorboards and are gone for ever.
So I now have a dilemma, do I buy more ? Bearing in mind that they are nasty little b*****s that seem to have sharp little barbs in them that really, really hurt. Or do I buy ordinary pins that I lose all the time and then turn up stuck in the soles of my feet.?
So many questions,
I think I’ll go and have a cuppa and then see if the paint has dried on the mirror I’m painting, Oh! I haven’t told you about that have I?
Well, I don’t want to overexcited you so I’ll save it for another time.
Nighty night.......

For my next exciting instalment watch this space.

Sorry *flying to interrupt your thread

How could I forget watching paint dry The hours of fun I could have had over the past 5 months. Buggeration ?
I'll remember next time. Thank you for the reminder?

Don’t go there Spangler !
We had a whole thread about that a while back, Rosecarmel thought the universal comments of horror were anti-American and WWIII was narrowly averted!

Thanks for the heads up. I did laugh both at your comments of averting a third world war and that of the poster that I read about uniting the UK for the first in four years.

Curiosity has got the better of me, I shall have to look it up.

BlueBelle Mon 10-Aug-20 22:22:39

???

Callistemon Mon 10-Aug-20 22:21:00

Oopsadaisy3

Because you have a reputation of opening threads about everyday things.

I dropped my tin of dressmaking pins this morning maybe I should have posted about that? ( Although I would have left out the bad language)

But I told myself that no one would be interested.

I am, honestly, Oopsadaisy

I keep a magnet in my sewing box, very useful

Callistemon Mon 10-Aug-20 22:17:46

MawB

I painted our shed door today - enjoying watching it dry hmm

Is that shed going to be on every thread?

Ooh, that rhymed!

Is it dry yet, is it dry yet?
Maw can I have some sweeties and a drink, Maw?
Maw, I'm hungry, can I have please

No, not cold tea

I do that all the time and I’ve Ben known to bung it in the microwave occasionally if I’m feeling particularly lazy ?

Microwaving tea, you're not alone:

An American woman living in the UK has caused a stir after she posted a video of herself making a cup of tea in the microwave.

The woman, known only as Michelle, has a YouTube channel where she posts videos of herself trying out various English foods, but it's footage of her tea-making that's outraged numerous Britons.

In the video shared to TikTok, Michelle begins by pouring cold water into a cup. She then microwaves the water in the cup for a minute, before taking it out and pouring in a large quantity of milk.

Once the mug is full to the brim with a roughly two-thirds water, one-third milk concoction, Michelle's daughter adds a teabag to the mix. She then pours a large amount of sugar into the mug, and is told to "give it a little stir."

The final insult to the tea-drinking world comes at the end when Michelle holds up what can only be described generously as a milky, watery mess, smiles at the camera and then says, "That's how you make hot tea."

Michelle's video has generated nearly 9500 comments, with many deeply offended by her method.

Cries of "That's obscene" and "This is an abomination" have been swiftly sent her way.

Another said, "Congratulations, you've finally found a way to unite Britain for the first time in 4 years."
