Isn’t the contrast in our tiny country extraordinary?
Here in the south it’s been hot, humid and dry for weeks, yet there have been comments from some members living in the N.E who have had a wet cool miserable summer.
We are never organised for extremes like this.
It’s the same in some winters when we get disruptive snow.
Because it doesn’t happen every winter, it doesn’t make economic sense for councils to invest in snow ploughs like they have in Canada for example.
Likewise we are not geared up for a hot summer.
Last night I ended up having a cold shower about 1am ! It did help.
