Me neither! grin

It's been nigh on impossible to avoid comments and opinions in the media but I do agree that if Harry and Meghan have not colluded with the authors why aren't they suing the pants off them?

The ignorance of some people will always show through. ??‍♀️

Grany Sat 22-Aug-20 11:25:14

Charles gets given 20 odd million from the Duchy so has plenty money

merlotgran Sat 22-Aug-20 11:12:33

Meghan doesn't like to be anywhere, town or country, where she's not the centre of attention.

I think she must lead the most boring life imaginable.

Anniebach Sat 22-Aug-20 11:09:08

Diana didn’t like country, she loved town

Kalu Sat 22-Aug-20 11:06:41

What Diana hated was sharing a rural holiday with the RF. Not Scotland!

Anniebach Sat 22-Aug-20 11:06:18

No way should they open up their private homes to the public.

Kalu Sat 22-Aug-20 11:04:01

Funding the upkeep of Highgrove to open up to the public may be a better investment for PC as opposed to funding M&H?

Anniebach Sat 22-Aug-20 11:01:42

I hope he can still spend time in Highgrove when he is king,

He has always loved Birkhall, he stayed there from childhood
with the Queen Mother,

The family love Scotland, exception being Meg. Diana hated it
too.

merlotgran Sat 22-Aug-20 10:54:29

Prince Charles seems to be subtly moving the focus of his interests away from Gloucestershire as he edges nearer to the throne.

Despite his well known love of Highgrove he now seems to favour Birkhall as a retreat and he has given up the tenancy on the nearby organic farm in favour of the Sandringham estate.

This all makes sense as he will have to consolidate his interests when he becomes King but I wonder what will happen to Highgrove and its beautiful garden.

It's like a tied cottage, Grany
Goes with the job. ??

Grany Sat 22-Aug-20 10:39:57

Sparklefizz They don't own them they live in them as if it's their own the public money pays for their upkeep, around the clock security which is £100 million a year.

What does it mater if they own them or not they don't pay towards upkeep or security they live in them

maddyone Sat 22-Aug-20 10:39:49

Callistemon
Their carbon footprint must indeed be huge! And all the time this has been going on, they’ve had the audacity to lecture the rest of us on reducing our carbon footprint!

maddyone Sat 22-Aug-20 10:38:08

Thanks for that link merlot.
It’s almost unbelievable the depths these two will sink to. Accepting all those freebies, many whilst still working royals. I thought, maybe I’m wrong, that working royals aren’t allowed to accept such gifts. I know they accept gifts given by countries whilst on official tours eg a cuddly koala bear when visiting Australia, but that’s very different from accepting free private jet journeys and free luxury hotel stays. It’s beyond belief!

Callistemon Sat 22-Aug-20 10:31:09

That was in response to merlogran's post

Callistemon Sat 22-Aug-20 10:30:21

Oh dear.
Greedy. Their carbon footprint must be enormous.

And all the while telling the rest of us how to save the environment.

Sparklefizz Sat 22-Aug-20 10:27:16

Ok Grany You say This video shows you all the homes which are state owned except for two.

So your earlier post suggested the RF owned all these 19 homes, but in actual fact, WE own them! Big difference.

merlotgran Sat 22-Aug-20 10:18:22

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8652443/Finding-Freedom-reveals-largesse-royal-couple-received-jets-luxury-hotel-stays.html

If Harry and Meghan thought 'Finding Freedom' was going to put them in a good light they've seriously misjudged the content.

No wonder Carolyn Durand is keeping her head down and Omid Scobie is starting to look like a rabbit caught in headlights.

I doubt they'll be asked to write a follow up. grin

Anniebach Sat 22-Aug-20 10:03:53

beverly I have found Lady Colin Cambell’s book interesting.

Sparklefizz Sat 22-Aug-20 09:41:49
