Me neither! grin

It's been nigh on impossible to avoid comments and opinions in the media but I do agree that if Harry and Meghan have not colluded with the authors why aren't they suing the pants off them?

tidyskatemum Wed 12-Aug-20 15:21:43

I think there was far more than enough in all the excerpts in the papers. I was really annoyed that my subscription money was going on this drivel.

Urmstongran Wed 12-Aug-20 15:19:03

Not the least bit interested. I also skip any articles about them in the newspapers. They are an irrelevance now as far as I’m concerned.

Nope, not even for £1!!

Bluebellwould Wed 12-Aug-20 14:42:22

I don’t get the title page, ‘the making of a modern royal family’. They’re not still part of the royal family are they really? Maybe by blood, but not by profession or location. I’m baffled why they still put that.

Read a few excerpts from the book, think I'll stick with Janet & John.

Smileless2012 Wed 12-Aug-20 12:53:43

Attributed to Thomas Moor during his trial for treason, to Richard Rich 'It profits not a man to sell his soul for the whole world; but for Wales'.

Made me think 'it profits not a man or woman to sell their soul for the whole world; but a book!!!!'.

There is no focus on Andrew now, unless Giuffie is about to
release another interview

Calendargirl Wed 12-Aug-20 12:45:55

DD has bought it, and says it is so obviously written by Meghan, or has given loads of info to the ‘real’ authors.

Jane43 Wed 12-Aug-20 12:42:59

The passages I have read are beyond ridiculous and portray Meghan as perfect in every way, no flaws whatsoever. I suppose the book is taking the focus away from Prince Andrew which should please The Queen.

Lexisgranny Wed 12-Aug-20 12:35:53

Just one question if this book contains a note today that theyhave spoken with the authors of this book, why aren’t this litigious couple suing them?

Maggiemaybe Wed 12-Aug-20 12:35:34

gillybob

Soon to be on the "anything for £1" shelf in Bookworld. grin

That's when I'll be buying it.

merlotgran Wed 12-Aug-20 12:27:07

I think the hole H&M have been digging is getting bigger by the day.

Did Omid Scobie not remember the authors' notes and does Carolyn Durand not have anything to say?

Maybe she's keeping her head down.

Ohmother Wed 12-Aug-20 12:26:26

Fifty Shades of Grey is a better bet......and that was a load of c@&p!

maddyone Wed 12-Aug-20 12:04:16

Oh it’s obvious that they colluded, probably directly and indirectly. I find it difficult to believe Palace staff spoke to the authors directly.
Now they’ve moved house, I hope we never hear from them again.

TwiceAsNice Wed 12-Aug-20 12:04:01

Not interested in buying it at all. Read an extract in a weekend paper and that was enough for me. So annoying and entitled especially at this time when things are so difficult for everyone else.

Oopsminty Wed 12-Aug-20 11:40:33

It has clearly been approved by H&M or we'd be hearing from them demanding to sue the authors.

Ellianne Wed 12-Aug-20 11:37:41

Are there pictures in the book?

eazybee Wed 12-Aug-20 11:32:18

The author's note states 'We have spoken with close friends of Harry and Meghan, royal aides and Palace staff (past and present), the charities and organisations they have built long-lasting relationships with and, when appropriate, the couple themselves.'
The Mail on Sunday's legal team are examining this statement to see whether it constitutes evidence that the Duchess allowed friends to speak to the media on her behalf.
Oh, this won't end well.

merlotgran Wed 12-Aug-20 11:18:14

Apparently there is, in the back of the book, an acknowledgement that they did speak to the authors.

So Omid Scobie lied on breakfast telly yesterday then? shock

timetogo2016 Wed 12-Aug-20 11:16:09

Not a read for me,it will be in thre charity shops before you know it.

Oopsminty Wed 12-Aug-20 11:15:07

Not read it. Seen a few headlines. Harry being delightfully surprised as Meghan went to take a 'comfort break' in the woods when in South Africa was the one that made me realise this isn't the book for me.

merlotgran Wed 12-Aug-20 11:09:59

Of course, the book is old news now. The 'breaking' news is that they upped sticks six weeks ago and have bought shock a 'family home' in Santa Barbara because the 18 room LA mansion was not Harry's style.

Apparently it's a quiet community with considerable privacy. Shouldn't that be was?
