Hope you all remembered to watch the Fairy Penguins at Phillip Island at 9.00 am your time. If not, you’ve got more opportunities because they come in at sunset every evening, every day of the year; no RDOs, no long week-ends, no holidays!
I’m impressed by the presentation, also noting that as with football matches, no spectators. Another victim of Covid, but it’s good that modern technology helps us keep up. See it on YouTube or Facebook!
Oh, and contributions will be gratefully received in the absence of paying visitors as well as no cafe takings!
Our second worse day yesterday; new cases up slightly; i.e. no dramatic decrease despite all the serious controls and 24 deaths, also up!.
I was surprised talking with our Michelle last evening that she uses her credit card for buying everything, from a bottle of milk upwards, to avoid handling “filthy lucre”! I said to her that her credit card statement could be half-a-mile long at times and she said yes! Being of the “old school” that would drive me nuts!
Another innovation because of Covid is Amazon’s method of delivering orders via a “Hub Locker”; our nearest is in the local newsagents. A “pick-up” code is sent via email and scanned at a locker which opens automatically. Avoids touching surfaces! Good job No 2 Son is working at home locally.
To-Day is International Day of the Dog so I’m told and Sunday week will be Father’s Day; no chance of them coinciding.
Part 3 of “the Salisbury Poisonings” is being recorded this evening; missed Part 2 last evening so after Part 4 tomorrow has been recorded there’ll be a massive catch-up binge!
Talking of binges! Megs; was there any booze left after last week-end to enable more toasting tomorrow.? which is only 20 mins. away, but I promise to hold off until at least breakfast!
And Jane; I imagine a thread- bare raincoat wouldn’t hack it at Balmoral, if you’re still going, that is. And forgot to mention that when your gung-ho dentist has finally dragged you kicking and screaming to his recliner chair and enquires “Comfy?*, say ‘Yes thanks”, not Edinburgh!
Grandmabatty told Jan about your lemon “drizzle” (is that Scotch for dribble?) and she asked if it had a recipe, but I said probably not if it’s what we think it is. Plenty more left, lemons, that is.
Must go! Good Health
