ellanvannin why don’t you discuss with a competent doctor the newest blood thinner which doesn’t need inr testing as it self regulates and there’s no need to get your blood tested every few weeks if ever again I think the name is edoxiban I was prescribed it after having a stroke the specialist asked why I had never discussed this change with my gp I said I didn’t think she would have been too pleased if I had made any suggestions to make about a change in medication we should do better and challenge things more often my neurologist says I’ve been misdiagnosed with epilepsy after looking back my medical records he says I’ve more likely been having fainting turns and not seizures. Can’t wait to meet up with him at his clinic he wants to discuss whether I should continue with anti seizure medication or not after all he said I could take this medicine for the next 20 yrs and not really need it.

Good Morning all from a dreich Harrogate - hoping it will brighten and warm up!! last night was so cold I finally fell asleep planning to get my winter duvet and electric blanket into action. Will probably get my winter duvet for tonight.
yesterday DH and I did a bit of brambling while walking the dog - there's no way I'm making bramble jelly, though. As you say Marydoll, It's a right footer. Will just freeze them to make crumbles and pies

A much better day weather wise than yesterday, with sunshine, a gentler breeze and slightly warmer.

A pottering kind of day today - see how it unfolds. We should have been away this week and next but not to worry. Our plan is to go out for days, though where is anyone’s guess at the moment.

We chat to DD2 and SiL in Australia on WhatsApp throughout the week and knew she had suffered a gastric upset for a few days which has been followed with a heavy cold. My imagination had her at deaths door, typical Mother! A long FaceTime chat yesterday put my mind at rest as I had to see her and confirm it was just a cold. Her lovely (Oz Mummy), MiL then FaceTimed me with reassurance that she was popping in to check on DD and all was well and she knew I would be worried.

DD1 and the girls are visiting at some point today. They are like a breath of fresh air blowing in with their non stop chat.?

Quiet day ahead, online church at 10.30 and then soup making to take into my wee grandchildren tomorrow for after school. I wonder what exciting things have happened this week, last Monday DGS told me there had been a unicorn on the school roof.

Good morning from Angus where the sun is shining amongst the fifty shades of grey. I'm scared to breath or blink in case I miss it! A busy time later today as DD, her New Man and their five teens are coming over. I'm hoping they don't bring the dog, an unmanageable red setter! She has three objectives while here - dig up the garden, find ways out of the garden and bark as much and as loudly as possible! No great effort for our tea as DD advises that pizzas are the best option from the local pizzaria. (DGDs say they're the very best). So all I've got to do is put out salads, and I've made an enormous chocolate meringue pudding and have in lots of ice cream. Sorted! We'll have a walk on the beach before tea, and by the time they leave I shall no doubt be very happily exhausted! I have found us a 'new' hall (temporary) for our tai chi classes so tomorrow morning I'll be going down to see how many people we can safely have in it per class. If it's fewer than 13 then I will have to work out a fortnightly rota of classes (normally in pre-Covid days it was 20-24 per class with two classes in a morning) which will be a nightmare! So fingers and toes crossed. I have read all your posts and all your fun 'goings on' but have now run out of time to comment. So have a lovely, autumnal day everyone, and keep warm and safe and well. ???

Nortsat, quite some time ago I had a 7 day ECG attached and religiously noted everything I was doing day to day that by the time I'd finished it read like a novella.

About a month later as requested, I returned to the surgery for results etc and was seen by a young, possibly junior doctor who couldn't understand head nor tail of the graph from the machine so marched to his colleague next door and was gone for all of 10 minutes.

When he arrived back, the colleague couldn't help either so asked if I would go to the walk-in centre to have one fitted again----I said a firm no. He proceeded to write a prescription for BP tablets which I told him I didn't need as I said the reason for my sudden increase in BP was the angst I was feeling because of his sheer incompetence. He was obviously a trainee !

What a farce ! Which is why I only visit the surgery once in a blue moon. The last time I spoke to a GP was nearly 3 years ago after I'd had a TIA and a female GP wasn't much help. The only reason I've stayed with the surgery is the convenience for my INR's every 6/8 weeks. Other than that, God help me

There was a time when I would have got stuck in to ironing the neighbours stuff as well if I'd been doing my own. Once the iron was out there was no stopping me as it was nothing to stand for 3 hours doing it. Somehow, it now gets me in the small of my back if I stand for too long.

Quite bright here, ( at the moment, ) going to do some gardening, DH is doing his first online bridge session at 10, he thinks that he has forgotten an awful lot! Might do a bit of sewing this afternoon. Gillybob, take the tag off and wear the jacket, you deserve a treat after going through so much stress.

I have still got my 48 hour ECG monitor taped to my chest. I was in bed reading GN and drinking coffee and was engrossed in an interesting and lengthy post on another thread. I missed my mouth completely and slopped my coffee down my front. Then I had to scramble for tissues, before the liquid could seep into the ECG electrodes.
All is well, the monitor is still working.

Slow cooked beef for us today and a bottle of Malbec.

Ellan I know what you mean about height. I am 5'10" tall, hardly a dwarf - but, and hardly anyone believes this - I am the short, fat one in the family!!!

In W H Smith, a man was buying a fountain pen (remember those?) and was trying out various models. He wrote "Tempus Fugit" many times, with different pens, then decided on one. At the till, the cashier said "I hope you enjoy using your pen, Mr. Fugit"!

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny S Hants, it’s chilly though, all the trees are turning, Autumn has zoomed in. Friends for BBQ this afternoon, I know they won’t stay really late as they have dogs they don’t like to leave too long. Might get the grass cut if the dew dries off early enough. Quiet evening planned, new Strike starting on TV, we’ve read all the books, so looking forward to that before a Monday when DH will be working and I have new glasses to collect. Doesn’t feel like a BH weekend at all.

Lovely and sunny, but it's not so warm. I had the heating on again last night for a couple of hours too. Not good enough for August.

I got to see Ruby-Lou yesterday for an hour----and she was full of a cold ! Ah well, it really is the chance you take and it was lovely seeing her after all this time, 5 months I think. She's gone so tall, I couldn't believe it. I'm not small but my GGC are going to tower over me.

D is back at work on Tuesday since April and I'm going to have to help her work around the children at some point after school just for an hour a day. We'll see what happens. Life isn't so straight forward at times . Good job I'm able.

Will get organised with the braised beef shortly and that can do slowly for a few hours. I'll grab a couple of bay leaves from the garden to throw in for good measure.

I did a bit of washing yesterday and as I was getting it in at about teatime I felt a few spots of rain and looked over at the neighbour's lines of washing, so gathered all that in too. I've still got it here all folded as it appeared that she was out most of yesterday. I couldn't have rested if I'd left it out although the rain didn't amount to much.
I draw the line at ironing it too

In my head I want to really blitz the place, with paperwork mounting up again I'll do it one of these days-----and seal up the letterbox
