The price will rise to 10 pence in April 2021, I very rarely buy a bag, always have at least one fold up linen one in my handbag.

If we were serious about this issue we would ban them.
Obviously we're not. It's meaningless.

10p is neither here nor there as a deterrent. I agree ban them altogether. One supermarket I think it’s Morrison’s is switching to strong paper instead.

Not if they make sure it’s from sustainable wood.

I can't remember when I last purchased one to be honest! In the past, when I've needed a bag, and some stores charged even before the new regulations, I have turned it inside out to hide the stores logo! I'm not paying to advertise!

Also, Tesco now use recycled paper bags for loose fruit and veggies rather than plastic but they are next to useless and tear very easily. I use some mesh bags, weigh the goods on the scales and then pop into my own bags along with the price ticket.
