Disappear for a week, BlueSky and I’ll put a thread up asking where you are.........grin

You’re brave asking about FH. shock

BlueSky Tue 01-Sept-20 15:52:45

Thanks Lisa! Why brave for enquiring about FH? Have I missed something? confused

Good to see you back, M0nica. You were always a voice of reason and calm in those barmy, early lockdown days.

MOnica how great that you’re back, have missed your sensible and balanced take on things. Very relieved because we thought you’d got the dreaded virus!

Nannylovesshopping Tue 01-Sept-20 20:33:50

Thank you BlueSky ?

Luckylegs Tue 01-Sept-20 20:37:49

I can guarantee that no one will EVER ask about where I am!

M0nica Tue 01-Sept-20 20:38:17

It never occurred to me when I dropped out that people would notice so much, otherwise I would have let you know that I was bowing out temporally, and possibly permanently.

We all avoided COVID but DD came close to being collateral damage. Three pieces of advice for GPs. 1) If someone is losing blood always order a blood test 2) When you do not order the blood test for 2 months and the result then shows the patient's blood is virtually iron-free, do not say to the patient that they could have a fatal heart attack at any moment, it very nearly caused it. 3) Do not tell someone who lives alone to take themselves to A&E immediately if they have said heart attack, faint/blackout, or feel very dizzy. They are unlikely to be able to do so.

Anaemia is a common problem and easily treated, but as we now know, it can be fatal if not treated. DD is well on the way to recovery, but she is looking for a new GP.
