That word, I mean non-word, womxn: how to say it

In an ideal world, every citizen would be just that, a citizen, a person, with equal rights, equal opportunities, equal pay for doing the same job, equal rights for parental leave etc.

Is there a reason why this is not achievable?

The people using it are generally nasty goady misogynists which is why the word is pronounced bollocks. And let’s face of it, most of the people using the word still have them (physically that is)

I think the Garrick Club is not unwelcoming to a woman in need. It is not misogynist.

It could work GagaJo. Just say ‘I’m a person’. No need to go into specifics.

Pretty daft, really. My ex husband was very "gender conscious" so busy being a "man" that he forgot how to be a person! (Not just my opinion, long standing friends stated the same)

However, perfect opportunity, to go along dressed as normal, but to say for the purposes of entering what is clearly a bastion of male chauvinism a men only "safe" area she will be identifying as a man. I do think men need to be tested with this conundrum as well!

I’ve always supported LGB rights - always - but TRAs are something else altogether as are any trans rights which seek to trample over the rights of women. I think some of you are muddling up supporting trans rights with decimating the rights of biological women to privacy, dignity, safety and the rights in the Equalities Act to women only spaces and services .

Being a supporter of trans rights does not mean I put up with bullshit from TRA about how I’m described. I’m a woman, I belong to the biological class of women. Adult human female. Trans women are trans women and trans men are trans men. Trans rights does not mean the rights of any man with a penis to take away my hard won rights as a woman. Gender is a totally different discussion.

I agree with Gagajo and object to the phrase nasty goady misogynists. While I find many of these concepts hard to understand and deal with, my daughter who is female, straight and married (to a man) would use this phrase as she supports LGBTQ rights and works with many gay, bi and trans people as well as ‘normal straight people. She is not nasty, goady or misogynist but a well rounded and kind person who is trying to understand the needs And feelings of others.

Interesting Gaga that you say you were born female - the trans community would have us believe that we are 'assigned' at birth, like it's the midwife's choice.

You can be sympathetic to the needs of people who are transgender without being obliged to be impressed by this nonsense word.

It's interesting how many are condemning it, but its origins really are not in the transgender community but in radical feminism. So are you saying that radical feminists are wrong?

And you're wrong in your assumption that this is just a 'nasty goady (made up word right there!) misogynist' plot.

There are plenty of bio female feminists around who are trans supporting. Fair enough you're not one, but that doesn't mean you get to clump all of us that do into a homogeneous male mass. I was born female and I'm a trans supporter. To me that's part of what feminism is about. People's right to their own identity.

I believe it's pronounced "womanx" which is a feminised version of "Manx" a Celtic people who originally inhabited the Isle of Man Person. A female Manx cat is known as a Womanx cat and rightly so imo. "Bollox" is a colloquialism that is sometimes used instead of "womanx" but perhaps not advisable in polite company, say in front of the vicar, even if the vicar is a womanx.

I am not sure that Jess Philip's has much of a handle on what's going on here, she dips her feet in the water sometimes on this issue but she hasn't quite found her courage yet.
