Hello! As I said, I'm new.
I joined today. Not a Gran (or a Grandad), but then I'm not a Mum either, and I'm on Mumsnet.
So. Show me around please!

Just over a mile from me. I always buy my petrol from there as it's the cheapest in the area!

FannyCornforth Wed 23-Sep-20 11:59:49

Thanks Jan! My dad still lives there.
Lakeside, near Sainsbury's!

Welcome from a Black Country girl, who currently resides in Stourbridge! Doh I smile

Yes, unfortunately I do actually limp with both legs
I was going to say that I hope that you can picture the scene, but I changed my mind.
It's not pretty.

Lucca Sun 20-Sep-20 19:18:46

Sadly I don’t drink enough . Two pinots and I’m anybody’s
out for the count.

lemongrove Sun 20-Sep-20 18:34:46

You would do well in The Argy too Lucca ( you have the innuendo already down pat.)?

Lucca Sun 20-Sep-20 17:33:37

FannyCornforth

I wouldn't mind being a glass collector. With a limp in both legs.
Just to listen to the gossip and learn the ropes.
I'd just got to the Hawaiian theme night. I'm really looking forward to reading some more later.

A limp what in both legs ?

FannyCornforth Sun 20-Sep-20 17:02:50

Thank you Laura.
I'll keep that in mind.

LauraNorder Sun 20-Sep-20 16:50:05

Who smuggled lemonade in to the Argy? Shock horror.
Word of warning everyone, please don't google your fanny whilst sitting on the photocopier.
Welcome FannyCornforth

FannyCornforth Sun 20-Sep-20 16:18:56

Thank you lemongrove!
I feel truly honoured!
I can definitely handle a crate of Guinness, one way or another.
Now, what to wear...wink

Callistemon Fri 18-Sep-20 20:28:50

See, I told you, FannyC
a bucket and mop
That's all they want - skivvies.
At least you'll get the leftover flat lemonade. They can be very kind.

lemongrove Fri 18-Sep-20 20:00:17

We welcome anyone to The Argy, Fanny we’re not fussy.
You have the perfect name to fit in well with the clientele.?
If you can handle a full crate of Guinness, a lecherous llama,
A few old sea dogs, a bucket and mop, then you’ll do well.

On a positive note, I started reading the Argy Bargy Arms thread last night.

shock don't go mixing with That Lot in there, FannyC. They would lead anyone astray.
I was only allowed to scrub the floors.

Callistemon Fri 18-Sep-20 19:08:00

It was going to be a quiet day - funny how things turn out!

All very pleasant though.

FannyCornforth Fri 18-Sep-20 18:39:20

Good evening everyone, I sincerely hope that everyone has has a good day.
Flu jabs at Boots for me and MrC. I was very nervous as I've rarely left the house since early March.
Very concerned about my teacher colleagues.
It's all getting very scary, even more so than before.
On a positive note, I started reading the Argy Bargy Arms thread last night.
What a work of comic genius!
lemongrove and the regulars, I salute you!grin

Namsnanny Thu 17-Sep-20 21:01:21

Hope you sleep ok?

FannyCornforth Thu 17-Sep-20 20:41:12

'Night all!
Hope the bedbugs don't bite.
Still very intrigued about the black country 'ways'.
Early night due to pain killers etc.
See you later chaps smile

FannyCornforth Thu 17-Sep-20 18:59:57

Oh! Intrigued! What do you mean by 'our ways'?
You make us sound very exotic!

monk08 Thu 17-Sep-20 18:56:18

Not black country born but lived here most of my life still getting to know their ways.

FannyCornforth Thu 17-Sep-20 18:39:25

Ha ha! I know. I'm ridiculously proud of my roots. I live in Derbyshire now, but it's not the same friendliness wise.
I haven't used the word 'mom' yet.
They go bananas about that on MN!

monk08 Thu 17-Sep-20 18:25:05

Nothing to forgive being from the black country smile

FannyCornforth Thu 17-Sep-20 18:24:12

Also, I'm a right one for pastry.
I've been known to eat the pastry from a pork pie and give the pork to DDog. ( The shame!)
I mentioned this set up to a friend, and she said that she had a similar arrangement with her sister.

FannyCornforth Thu 17-Sep-20 18:20:26

Oh, gosh, I know! Dog is a very lucky (spoilt) princess.
Definitely a child substitute.

lemongrove Thu 17-Sep-20 18:15:58

The dog would have been even happier if you had given him the whole thing.Woof!
