Had a bad fall in the (walk-in) shower ?

I'm a recent poster on GN but the OP in that time has had a great number of dramatic falls, resulting in bleeding etc. There are a couple of possibilities ; she has health issues which should mean closer supervision by her carers and doctors or she is making it up. There are a number of genuinely kind people commenting here and offering advice. I would hate to think they were being taken in. If all these 'accidents' are true, then the OP needs to address her serious health issues before posting on GN.

Maybe take a bath next time? Just a thought.....

If the shampoo bottle falls on your toe it can be very painful and discombobulate you for a while. I know.
My friend fell in the shower and broke small bones in her hand. Dangerous places, showers.

Perhaps you should see a doctor about all these falls, FH? You could have a problem with your ears (balance).
And investing in a non-slip shower mat is a good idea too.

I'm not especially kindly disposed to someone who has told me (and others) to "fuck off".

However I did take the time to make some suggestions regarding colours on "her" party thread.

I don't copy and paste posts, unless they help to make it clear which post I am responding too.

If you think any of my posts are against or break GN guidelines, feel free to report them.

I bought a stool for my shower and I use it even when I am washing my hair. So useful.

Even a towel over you would have protected your modesty if a dressing gown was not available to pop over you.

Shock may hit you later, having had such a nasty fall and I so agree you should really get your arm checked out.

You must be extra careful in future. Were you just home from work and exhausted? I do understand.

Sorry folks and FB, I really do mean I'm sorry, but I am so hacked off with the NHS at the moment.
The government didn't 'protect' it, they closed it.

FH are you sure you dont want to go to A&E to get your arm checked out?? My friends GS fell in the shower, hurt his arm and wouldnt get it checked out. It caused him no end of problems resulting in a shoulder operation 3yrs later.
luckygirl's advice is sound.

You are so lucky to live with your parents if you are infirm.
I hope that you feel better soon.
As a side note, I too wish that I had a walk in shower.
I'm struggling to 'walk in' anything.

We have a walk in shower. No door and no curtain. Could you post a photo of your shower FH? I am very perplexed and it would help any Gransnetters who might be contemplating having a new shower installed. We wouldn’t want anyone else to suffer as you have.

That's some hefty bottle of conditioner to reverse the opening of a door.
Obviously one of those gallon size ones the hairdressers use.

But it is a walk in shower - which I understand as something different to a shower cubicle
There was a shower curtain - not sure why
The shower door opened outwards even although it is meant to open inwards.
Wasn’t it the conditioner which ricocheted off the wall and hit the shower door so hard etc etc

Why does your walk in shower have a curtain? Most have sliding doors?

25 minutes must have been an extraordinarily long time to be stranded.

You forbade your mother from getting an ambulance because you were naked, I'm sure you could have got a robe round you while waiting.

Although, tbh, I doubt if an ambulance would have come out for that sort of incident.

What is it about FH Phoenix? Why on earth do you have to be so unkind? It really is becoming a habit with you and the OP. Just plain nasty. And who are you to tell OP not to wear make up in the garden? You really are unpleasant.

That's some huge shower to be able to ricocheted across the floor.
I'm impressed by the recall of every minuscule detail while in so much pain.

Here is what to do:
- get a good shower mat and never never go into the shower unless it is firmly n place.
- get a grabrail fixed to the shower wall.
- get a soap-on-a-rope, or (as I did, crochet a soap bag - wide open weave with very long string hung round the shower pole. Then lather the soap through the bag, so it cannot fall on the floor and make it slippery.

Honestly, as I know only too well, a fall and a breakage can transform your life permanently for the worse. Not really worth the risk. Be a good Guide and Be Prepared!
